I think the 1983 1/72 Mirage F.1C from Hasegawa (No.D18) deserves a spot in the top 5 at least. The angle of the painting and the after-burners make me think of a flight of them just being scrambled to protect the airbase.
anybody remember the airfix box art dc3 spooky gunship......the jungle scheme camo and the guns blazing from the windows. For a kid during the seventies, that was just like a movie in itself.
In fairness some of the classic kits are 60 year old now. Certainly helps to track down the originals and not the republished ones with tired molds. But they are certainly not kits that compare to today's one. I am currently fighting with a old 1970's Lancaster from Airfix.
Now we are talking. Great vid!
Thank you for the kind words
Sunderland, B29 , Lancaster and bit'o'lace B17 are iconic Airfix box art .
They had a great many that stand out for sure.

60s and 70s airfix and matchbox boxart was just gorgeous. It was what dragged me into scalmodelling. Nobody have ever done it better.
Absolutely. The art was a good investment and totally stands up today
The b-29 one is an amazing picture
I very much agree

I had forgotten about that one. Also the Dakota with all the para's jumping out if it. They knew how to sell kits back then.
Wellington is awesome, B 29 with the Zero is so cool too, and the Henkel, great picks mate, :) 😎👍
They did a great job at pulling you into the action and wanting to build the kit.
This is really intresting. The only reason I buy the airfix vintage classics is because of the box art, in my opinion the kits are crap
