What a sound! I think Ferrari hit the right nerve with this one. A lot of the engines lately are sounding more sterile, this beast sounds more organic. Like there is something alive in there.
The guy drove the car marvellously, the F12 is the problem here, but it's a easier problem to solve, first suspension, there is way to many body roll, so just change springs and give it a geo. On the tires, michelin sport cup 2 and done, you have a much faster car on track and still great car on the road. The F12 was really made for the road and to be a creature of comforts, but it's a notch away of a track maniac.
The F12 is a touring car same as the 612 was. It has huge power but isn't super efficient on a track. It's built to compete with Bentleys not Camaro track cars. For a hell of a lot less money you can buy the 458 which is built to be fast on the track and it would kill everything they tested here minus maybe the 918. The point of not having a "stig" is to show what an average driver, which most of us are, can get out of these cars if we went to a track day.
The engine in that Ferrari is just wonderous. Looks like the driver had a relatively easy time negotiating that ultimate GT ship around VIR. The F12 is probably the finest car on the face of the earth; can anyone name a truly better road car?
Duh really? That's like watching a video of some dudes playing basketball and saying NBA players could play better. you keyboard warriors need to go back to playing Forza on your Xbox...
Comparing the F12 to the z28 is comparing apples to oranges, one is a purpose built track car with track tuned suspension, and one is a big and powerful super GT car designed to fold over in corners and be comfortable. The reason the times are so close is because of the f12's power and the z28's suspension. And as for the Stingray, there is a reason that it has caused such a stir in the car world, it is an amazing car with a great suspension set up and it really is americas first step into the modern supercar world. I just hope its a welcome competitor and not soemthing that people want to scoff at.
I'm still kind of confused at the speed of the Viper, the driver didn't seem to be very smooth and the shifts always seemed to be a gear too high, but I guess that big V-10 has the torque to make up for the driver.
this lap is rough, he is so scared to get on the gas mid to late corner but this car has the best turn in and stayed so flat i think he could have gotten 5 or more seconds off this time if he was a real driver.
I must say comments of driver are a bit too harsh. I see Randy of MT being thrown under the bus.Driver in this video the same treatment.F12 isn't a great track car. Ferrari used wider tires to get this time. Just think what normal size would do.
Перекдючение как в формуле 1, моментальное!!!!))) впечатляет Особенно нравится когда говорят что механика быстрее!!! а вы попробуйте! кстати Берлинетта на 10 сек быстрее амг Е63)))
HAHA the comments below are pathetic! its a 4 seater with a big boot on an american circuit... wow a viper with a 8 litre engine 2 seats is similar speed.... and a Z28....have you ever been to europe! my respect for american cars increases daily but sometimes you come across a bit shitty.
So basically none of these lap times mean jack shit in the grand scheme other than its ironic that a new American car laps quicker than a Supercar with more tech in its valve stem than an entire Camaro. Don't get me wrong the Z28 is a step in the right direction for GM, finally, and is very impressive in the American arena but in the big boy world this is a total joke. So we are being told that a Camaro Z28 would lap VIR in 1.8 seconds faster than a Ferrari Enzo...Great challenge, poor execution
Since Ferrari or Fiat not allow SRT crank 800hp from the Vipr ACR so what? The Viper TA able to kill the F12 with just 640hp and the F12 almost get kill by Z28. 0.1s ahead a 505hp car with 731hp.....Shame italian
How far we have come when in an argument about american vs european cars the american cars fans say no one cares about drag races... :p it's only been a few years since the US cars have been able to only do that. :)
MravacKid However european think they're good at efficient still can't beat a 505hp with 731hp, the Z/28 aren't even built for drag race. It killed Turbo S and barely kill F12. The F12 got 731hp 1/4mile 11.0s the Hellcat 11.7s with just 707hp weight over 2 ton........
Ferrari's are all hype, $437,844; 730 HP and 3872 lbs, 2:50.8!? And to think it had more aggressive tires not yet available in dealership at the time of shooting. While a z/28 less than a fifth of the price with worst power to weight ratio did it in the same time. Some engineering Ferrari. If you really have to buy Italian go for Lamborghini, you could at least tune it to match other car manufacturers performance.
enemay The F12 is a GT car, Ferrari's main goal for it wasn't to make a car that could smash out insane lap times, it's meant for long drives on public roads, it's got softer suspension and has quite a bit of weight in the cabin giving it quite a bit of body roll. Yeah a z/28 might be better on a track, but when you're cruising down a German autobahn at 150mph the Ferrari will be head and shoulders above a z/28. The F12 has also had a lot more work put into it's aero and most probably all of it's drive train, it's also uses much more expensive materials, so I think the price is justified.
After the ferrari goes against the toiota gtr ,turbo naturallly aspirated, dohc ohv hemi LS ,jdm usdm, it will be eating the toiota gtr ,turbo naturallly aspirated, dohc ohv hemi LS ,jdm usdm's shit. nothing can beat the toiota gtr ,turbo naturallly aspirated, dohc ohv hemi LS ,jdm usdm.
You dudes at C&D really need to get ONE GOOD professional driver....a $450K F12 does the same time as a freakin vette???!!!! or it's slower then a 120K viper??!! Find your C&D version of MT's Randy Pobst...you guys at C&D suck!! Although, i probably wouldn't of driven any better.....lol
You should consider the fact that the Corvette and Viper also weight A LOT less than the F12 and pulls much higher Gs in the Corners than the F12. Sure, the F12 has the best engine on the face of this Earth, but it's too heavy and rolly compared to those cars. It's a High Performance Sporting GT car, not an all out sports car like the Viper and Corvette.
That same thing happened to mt. The stingray is like .3 seconds slower than a 450k f12. An fr car with 730 HP that is 2 tons isn't gonna be that fast on a tight track but it is an amazing car ♥
Abdalla Shabibi Wow. People like you never cease to amaze me with the level of ignorance. 1st off. The American car is a TRACK CAR. It is modified for TRACK USE. The F12 is a GT CAR. It is built for LONG DISTANCES IN COMFORT. See the difference? There os no trickery my friend. On a straight or less technical track the F12 would win by a further time but this track is very technical. Meaning on the corners, the F12 is pretty tame. All considering. What I want to know is why you trick yourself into believing you actually know about cars and track performance?
This type of driving continues to make Americans look ignorant. You have a lap time challenge with a various group of imprecise drivers??? Is this Disney or C&D? Anyone who knows much about high performance cars knows that am F12 is several seconds faster than ANY American steet car around ANY circuit. It lapped Fiorano nearly 2 seconds quicker than an Enzo for god sakes.
With more seat time he'd probably improve as he gets used to driving it. I notice there isn't much part throttle in this video, either on or off it seems. A more graceful transition from part throttle to full might help smooth things out more. But that's my b.s. look at it.
The F12 has proven slower than the z28 by Randy probst at Laguna Seca as well, and he is an awesome driver. Also, the Enzo lap was set on decade old tire design, if you lapped it with modern rubber, it would probably be faster than the F12.
Lathan Starnes the F12 wasn't necessarily built for the track either. Unlike the Z/28, which is strictly a track car (albeit street legal), the F12 Berlinetta is a GT. Despite the sheer power, the ride is refined and it's easy to drive on city streets. If I had my choice (and I don't) I'd honestly rather drop the near $400 grand on the F12 because of its civility on the road. You can take it on a long road trip and not worry about a thing. The Z/28 is probably miserable unless you're tearing up a circuit.
That sound is a win already
Haha
What a sound! I think Ferrari hit the right nerve with this one. A lot of the engines lately are sounding more sterile, this beast sounds more organic. Like there is something alive in there.

OH MY GOD! That scream!!! Love it so f*ing much! everytime the revs are low you can just feel the car wanting to go up the revs, oh wow
OMG, that frikin exhaust got me hooked! Beautiful sound for sure.
The F12 looked faster and
more glued than I would have though. Clean lap too! That F12 sounds so sick!
impressive. if it had stickier track tires like the camaro i bet it would be a few seconds faster
Every driver is going to get different times.....same driver is going to get different times. BUT..I'll go with Randy EVERY time lol
Whoever had the idea for the intro and recorded the sound deserves a standing ovation!
Unbelievable sound.
Impressive time for a front engine gt car...Ferrari excellent job ;)
The F12 is a touring car same as the 612 was. It has huge power but isn't super efficient on a track. It's built to compete with Bentleys not Camaro track cars. Could this be the best soundtrack on the web?
Yes. This could be it. Though I have to say the LFA and Carrera GT V10 are also really special.
@@paouvous novitec n-largo 812 superfast/gts will change your life. In my opinion it's the finest sounding driving machine ever created
Now *THAT* is what you call an exhaust note!
The engine in that Ferrari is just wonderous. Looks like the driver had a relatively easy time negotiating that ultimate GT ship around VIR. The F12 is probably the finest car on the face of the earth; can anyone name a truly better road car?
pretty good, but a racing driver could have gotten it around a lot faster
Duh really? That's like watching a video of some dudes playing basketball and saying NBA players could play better. you keyboard warriors need to go back to playing Forza on your Xbox...
Put the speeds and telemetry on screen!

where's 2015 lightning lap car and driver ?!
Перекдючение как в формуле 1, моментальное!!!!))) впечатляет

Engine sound ftw.
he braked very first corner, and he made some mistakes during the turn, led to a decrease two seconds
Love the F12 / 812 SF Ferrari’s. Last of the V12. NA.
It’ll run a quicker tine at VIR West.
Do any of your drivers ever actually hit an apex without overshooting or shifting mid corner?
what about the gt3?
Lol, I'm getting drunk off the tears of all you European exotic fanboi's.
Wow! Only .1 second faster than a fat last gen Camaro!
I was interested to see how it compares to STI on this track :) lol...
WHAT A SOUND
The best
imo the only reason to buy a vette or viper over the F12 is you cannot afford it.

What?
latin1988AC You seem like you would be a really fun guy to hang out with at parties.
The Z28 was literally developed on this track, it's not surprising at all that it's faster
WooooHooooo ! Assssiago !
Splitting hairs but how bout the GTR. The Ferrari sounded nice.
I'd buy this thing just to start it up and rev it then turn it off and get in my daily since I couldn't afford the maintenance....or the car😂
Since Ferrari or Fiat not allow SRT crank 800hp from the Vipr ACR so what? The Viper TA able to kill the F12 with just 640hp and the F12 almost get kill by Z28. 0.1s ahead a 505hp car with 731hp.....Shame italian
Ha but no one care drag race. F12s acceleration advantage seems useless here can't even handle a far less power Z28
How far we have come when in an argument about american vs european cars the american cars fans say no one cares about drag races... :p it's only been a few years since the US cars have been able to only do that. :)
The Viper is also 700 lighter than the F12. Let's take that into account.
MravacKid However european think they're good at efficient still can't beat a 505hp with 731hp, the Z/28 aren't even built for drag race. It killed Turbo S and barely kill F12. The F12 got 731hp 1/4mile 11.0s the Hellcat 11.7s with just 707hp weight over 2 ton........
doesn't mean faster idh0530 GTR Nismo just beat Porsche Turbo S.... Camaro Z/28 beat Turbo S as well. Both GTR and Camaro weight 120kg more
7s slower than the porche

it could be at least 3 seconds faster , easily, ... the driver messed up at various points ...
Right foot braking?? Amateur...
i came
205,000 $$
Same as a 2014, Z-28 Camaro ! Not good...
After the ferrari goes against the toiota gtr ,turbo naturallly aspirated, dohc ohv hemi LS ,jdm usdm, it will be eating the toiota gtr ,turbo naturallly aspirated, dohc ohv hemi LS ,jdm usdm's shit. nothing can beat the toiota gtr ,turbo naturallly aspirated, dohc ohv hemi LS ,jdm usdm.
Still slow even with stickier and wider than tires than stock.
pffff ... totally absence of tyre squealing both during braking and turning.
The pilot is just like walk around

idh0530 Dude....watch videos on the F12 and then rethink that statement and I'm not meaning to be a wiseass and yea I know it's considered a GT car.
***** I have nothing to rethink.
