- This is the story of how Distortion2 won first place in the first ever WaifuRuns Invitational Speedrunning Competition, this time its Resident Evil Village Glitchless Village of Shadows New Game.

Distortion's run was incredible but what i found insanely impressive was 7RayD's comeback and taking 2nd place. This whole thing was exciting from beginning to end.
Dist is a fucking god i swear. They need to do a documentary about speedrunning and feature him.

Really enjoyed this event live, super cool, hoping you do another like this. It's really tough to do solo runs, felt like after DIst ran it, he still wanted to do more. Kinda proves that sometimes runners just want to do it socially, win or lose. I could be wrong though I'm not a runner of any game yet.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't want Distortion2 (partly due to his icon and how it reminds me of stryder7x) to win. And I'm happy for7RayD! It looked like he might get 4th for a while, but he didn't give up and got 2nd. (I might be wrong though, because waifu's channel icon was in the way lol) Great contest! Hope everyone is happy with the result!

What an event. Considering how this is the game at its hardest--not only a brutal difficulty but under enormous pressure to cut corners and play perfectly, as quickly as possible--the fact that seven out of eight runners managed to finish one run is awesome. That all four of the finalists did it in under two hours is incredible.

I don’t speedrun, but quick question. With events like this, let’s say I find a big, glitch or tactic, but withhold this information until one of these tournaments come, could I use that to my advantage? Even if it shaves off a huge amount of time?
I don't know who it was commentating round to but I want him to commentate the rest of my life

I missed this and I'm so glad you uploaded it! Thank you!! I have a recommendation, this is my first full competition speedrun, is there any way to do a dynamic placing overlay on the streams? I struggled to know who was in first, and kind of caught on but it was hard. I think it would be cool to see almost a Mario cart placing on the screen so I know better how the run is going and if someone overtakes and the places change. For me being new to this, I feel it would help so my focus isn't darting to who is doing better by times and instead enjoy the commentary more knowing the placings at a glance. Sorry for the long comment. Loved this and cannot wait to watch this live next time and donate!!!

You should host another tournament but all challengers can use 1 infinite weapon, no Magnum or Grenade Launcher uses.

That would likely turn into a sniper rifle run. Quick/no scoping lycans saved my ass on my first run; I started on hardcore and quickly fell in love with the sniper when I got it

I'm running my own speed run on Ps4 RE8 I can do it with are with out glitches and cheats
Do it. There’s a community for it. I’m currently grinding the glitchless NG+ category
I hate how the video quality is so bad. The stream is already compressed quality and then to encode it to YT for the upload degrades the quality even further.
This was actually locally recorded! No one else had complained so it’s probably your fault
@@WaifuRuns Not my fault. I'm on a 200 mbps connection, 1440p 165 hz monitor, Ryzen 7 3700X, 16Gb Ram, Radeon VII. Video quality is pixelated like its heavily compressed compared to other videos of streaming.
