Y'know, back in the infamous scene where Monica shows Chandler the 7 erogenous zones, Rachel accidentally lets it slip that she might have a foot fetish ("OOH, TOES!"). Which puts Ross' line... in a different light. XD
Your face when Rachel was explaining all the layers of the desserts was the same as Joey and Ross 😂😂😂 This Thanksgiving episode is amazing. When Monica shouts "Ross married Rachel in Vegas and got divorced... A G A IN" I swear I feel that "again" deep in my bones 😂
This first one is my favourite of the whole show. Its so funny how they build up several plots to end up with that speed run confession scene solving all of them at once, its my favourite joke of this show easily
The one where Ross got high is my all time favourite episode. The moment where they all ‘truth bomb’ at the end never fails to make me laugh for about 30 seconds straight!! 😂

I thought of a way to get rid of the trifle and get Monica's parents to like Chandler that would have worked. Okay, Joey gets the Idea "Ross you pretend your chocking, "Chandler, preform the Heimlich, and Ross swing your arms around and hit the trifle so it falls to the ground." "You save Ross's life , his parents will love you now and we don' have to eat the trifle and Rachel can't get mad because we saved you life."
I’m glad you recognized this Thanksgiving episode’s significance - it’s called a “bottle episode”. Friends is famous for them; there’s one in almost every season. The term “bottle episode” was coined by Leslie Stevens the creator of the 1960s show “The Outer Limits”, a sci-fi show that often needed extra money for more expensive episodes for special effects or pricey guest stars or many sets that had to be built. Bottle episodes are made on a tight budget, usually take place in one room or one set, are made in very little time, and is a budget saver for future pricier episodes. He so named it because he said the episode was structured like having a genie “in a bottle”. Other Friends episodes that are “bottle episodes” are: TOW No One’s Ready (S3E2) TOW Where Ross Can’t Flirt (S5E19) TO With Monica’s Thunder (S7E1) TOW The Rumor (S8E9 - Brad Pitt Thanksgiving episode) TOW the Lottery (S9E18) These are planned, structured, feel-good and Friends made them famous!
About five years ago, Courtney Cox and Ed Shearin recreated "the Routine" together. He loves the show and that's his favourite scene. There is, no kidding, an official Friends cookbook, where you can learn how to make Monica's onion tartlets and Joey's meatball sandwich, etc. And yes, Rachel's stomach-turning trifle is included, mostly as a novelty, I hope. Dick Clark's New Year's Rocking Eve is STILL on every December 31st. The hosts for the past few years have been Anderson Cooper and Mario Cantone.
The BEST thanksgiving episode hands down!!! "It tastes like feet!!!" I know theres another one later everyone is obsessed about but thats overrated as hell in my opinion, this ones the mvp! Ross and joey such a great duo😂😂😂😂
The Routine! When I was a sophomore in high school, I wanted to audition for "The Vocal Chords", our select show choir. My sister, whom I believe had already been in the group from the prior year, helped me with the audition routine. I don't recall the exact steps anymore, but it was a "hat & cane" routine to the song "Razzle Dazzle". Thanks to my choir director for another great high-school memory.
My favorite lines will always be Ross's "It tastes like feet" (heeeeeeeeeee) and Joey's response: "What's not to like? Custard? Good. Jam? Good. Meat? GOOOOOOOOOOOD." I was crying laughing the first time I saw that part of the episode, and may have replayed that part several times. 🤣🤣🤣 Sometimes I still like to say that randomly: "Jam? Gooooood."
My Favorite Thanksgiving episode. Courtney Cox redid the “Routine” with Ed Sheeran. I think it was an extra scene from the 2021 Friends Reunion special
TOW Ross got high is in my top 5 episodes of the whole show, and one of the very few comfort episodes I randomly watch when I need a laugh. The Phoebe/Jack storyline is hilarious. "Five minutes ago a line like that would've floored me. Now nothing. Well, not nothing, I'm still a woman." 🤣😭
Jacques Cousteau was a French naval officer, oceanographer, filmmaker and author. and he was indeed hot. Phoebe's got good taste. The show brings up repeatedly the fact that Phoebe likes also older men.
these are two of the best episodes thru the series. they always come to mind when I think of The Gellers and the new years eve. Always The Routine. Who doesn't want to find a dance partner and do this dance?
The Thanksgiving episodes usually have the group altogether. It’s not always one location, but it’s tends to be more of one storyline. With everybody involved. It’s probably why the Thanksgiving episode episodes are some of fans favorite episodes.
My favorite Thanksgiving moment is when we get to see Phoebe's two past lives. She's my favorite character, so I love that she's a nurse in both of them. Our Phoebe, funny in 2024, 1997, 1917 AND 1865. "Oh, no."
I love FRIENDS, I used to watch it as it aired, weekly with my Mom, and watched reruns nightly. SUCH an amazing show, and it really does keep getting better too! You’re such a great reactor to this show, and excited for the rest of the journey!
These are two of my favourite episodes of the entire series! One "confession" after another in the Thanksgiving episode followed by Judy’s "That’s a lot of information to get in 30 seconds" (reminiscent of Monica's rant from S4), Rachel's trifle and the routine in E10! Also I love how it pretty much ends with Judy and Jack welcoming Chandler into the family (unofficially since he’s not married to Monica), when Chandler has always hated Thanksgiving because of his own family. Fun facts: The trifle was in reality just whipped cream and bananas. There's a blooper of David not being able to eat it because it was so much and Jennifer laughing when Matt puts some of David's trifle on to his plate. In the same one Matt is also laughing because of the way David says "It tastes like FEET!" - ua-cam.com/video/M013Umbv3Qo/v-deo.htmlsi=K9COm0Jr-vgnrz8q Matt also said that after they yelled cut David spat out some of it back on his plate and Matt ate it, not knowing David had spit it out. Despite what the video title says, it can't be that because Matt is clearly watching David, plus he doesn't spit much out and most of it is barely in his mouth. Matt also said it was after they yelled cut so it wouldn't have been filmed. Joey yelling "Chandler!" after learning that the pages were stuck together was improvised by Matt LeBlanc. It is considered by the creators to be among one of the dirtiest jokes on the show (since it's hinting at Chandler pleasuring himself and releasing 'something' causing pages of 'something' he was "reading" to stick together). Courteney Cox actually re-created the routine with Ed Sheeran a few years ago: ua-cam.com/video/4MuIN-82Plo/v-deo.htmlsi=NWNZIWTyWosHCwqt and for comparsion: ua-cam.com/video/rYRjejL225Q/v-deo.htmlsi=TZy6xJ6GmJYkm753 (they are good friends irl). Lots of people have re-created it, including couples during their wedding. In the uncut DVD version of E10, Rachel, Phoebe and Chandler go to Central Perk to look for the presents Monica had hidden from them. Rachel flirts with Gunther to try and find out where they are and he faints: ua-cam.com/video/XEYmSr9QdC8/v-deo.htmlsi=Af20qbBiLpOHmxdB. In the beginning of E8, Monica asks Chandler "guess who's coming to Thanksgiving dinner?" and Chandler replies "Sidney Poitier?", a reference to Guess Who's Coming To Dinner? starring Poitier and Katharine Hepburn (fitting since it's also about a couple struggling to accept the man who is dating their daughter, though for very different reasons). Such a good movie, I highly recommend it. Goof: Shepherd's pie doesn't have beef but lamb; Cottage pie has beef. Furthermore, modern recipes of mincemeat pie do not contain meat. And another thing that never made sense is if the pages really were stuck together Rachel would have finished the trifle with the beef. Why was there a recipe for Shepherd's (Cottage) pie just randomly shoved in the middle? And I know it's a TV show, just funny that's all.
Nothing like finishing work on a rainy, windy Monday and seeing this come up on the notifications bar ✨ "if your heart is pure, wondrous things can happen" 😂
Fun fact; the bit with the trifle, there's a blooper where David (Ross) couldn't eat all the trifle, and ended up spitting it out into his play. Matt (Joey), didn't know he spat it out so scraped it onto his plate and ate it in the next take
Yeah. I agree with thinking that it would be weird, but not bad. And I've tried enough weird things that turned out to be good that I would happily volunteer to taste test this dish lol.
There's a friends recipe book on Amazon. It has that trifle in there, except the beef is something else. I don't remember what it is but it's something that resembles beef 😅
Both of these episodes are top tier but yeah the thanksgiving one 😂 so good! The bloopers were even better- Joey was eating the plate Ross had at one point 😂
6:42 That "Chandler!" line by Matt LeBlanc was pure ad-lib that the producers decided to keep in. It's one of the classic ad-libs of the show's history.

Whenever you get around to season 6's bloopers, you are going to love the portion on LeBlanc and Schwimmer trying to get through that Thanksgiving dessert eating scene.
11:48 You should watch the bloopers of this scene AMAZING 😂
The way I almost dropped my phone I clicked so hard 😂😂
The Geller dance.....😂 Just Iconic
I loved the episode where Rachel makes the cooking mistakes.Chandler,Ross and Monica, and the parents were hilarious
The Routine is my favourite sibling moment between Ross and Monica 😂
Episodes that take place in one location are called "bottle episodes." The other famous one is "The One Where No One's Ready."
13:06 ONE OF THE BESTS SCENES OF THE SHOW 😂
You put so much effort in it AS A KID? Excuse you I still do 😂😂
I love watching your reactions! ❤
Oh im sorry thank you for my AZ🤣
I cant believe I've forgotten about the dance scene. I think both of these episodes are great.
My secon favorite Thanksgiving episode...you'll have to wait for a very special guest in a future holiday entry!🎉 "That's a lot of information to get in 30-seconds...."
I love these eps 😂😂😂😂
