Mike, for percentages in m+, you can use Angry Keystones addon, it adds % of any mob in a dungeon to their tooltip. Alos, it adds a gold/silver/bronze indication on the m+ timer window, all very seamlessly
hey preach, iv been playing for over 5 years at this point and only found the confidence to find a guild and raid in october and got my first AOTC tonight. wouldn't have been able to get here without you or your channel, keep up the good work! Thanks and holla from team 'Straya
thanks man, moving onto mythic when we have a full roster. my biggest problem before was my anxiety but i decided that id try it anyway and now i love it. i even found that everything that preach suggested in the get gud series i had figured out on my own over the years which helps even more.
Muppit gratz! Its funny how mentality changes as you become a better player. For me, AotC is like a bare minimum for me each tier ,while newer players see it as a goal. Either way, good job, and good luck if you try to mythic. P.s. mythic isnt too hard tbh
Hey Mike, would you ever do a video about not being able to stick to 1 character? I've spend all my time during legion to find and stick to that one character I want to progress on.
I could only ever stick to monk other "mains" were temporary and when monk was shit I just didn't play legion (nh and tos). Right now I feel like I have 3 mains tho assa/unh/ww, 3 chars aint that much to play.
thanks preacher. can;t wait for the headphones. i;m realy hyped . Keep up the good work. i watch your vids since cataclysm. realy helped me a lot improving :D
so nice to hear someone saying they want to tank.... I jut came back after taking a 5 year break, from just before pandaria till a few months ago, In every guild I have been in I ended upbeing MT and didn't do many dungeons or raids on any of My other toons. and I don't even consider myself that good a tank... I am OK but certainly not great but I the guilds I was in , small casual guilds in the main,I seemed to be the only one who didn't mind tanking, so hearing you say that was refreshing and gives Me hope for the game
Really hope the tank homogenizing doesn't push all tanks into a "Keep this buff up in order to get the static tank physical mitigation buff," and that's it. The one saving grace I had with prot paladin is that if you were good at timing your SotR (because you can't have it up all the time) it made a huge difference. Same goes with Death Strike. If that gets shifted away and replaced with a constant "tank" buff you need to keep up all the time in order to make the tanks equal, I can't see myself bothering with tanking. I guess the question is whether they'll also homogenizing the healing that tanks do as well, because that's arguably a big deal when it comes to dealing with incoming magic damage. Death Strike is a far more reliable form of sustain because of the control you have over how much healing it gives. As someone who plays both DK and Prot paladin, I'm wondering if they're going to shift power into LotP since SotR would share it's effect with stuff like Bone Shield? SotR is far more powerful than Bone Shield whereas Death Strike is far more powerful than LotP. Just worried that tanks will be the same class but with different colored abilities (spam-y rotation to keep "active mitigation" rolling), or that tanks with good mitigation but poor self-sustain will get hammered without compensation.
I was thinking about it, now that we have 6 tank specs in the game. What about a 2/2/2 split? Warriors and Monks be the tanks dealing with physical damage better, Demon Hunters and Death Knights dealing with Magic-based fights/damage better and finally Paladins and Druids having a middle of the road mitigation set. It allows for some variance in the raid comps and player choice. Also, with so many bosses and even trash to design, there's room for a lot of creativity on Blizz's part. Plus, with a split like this, there's reason to have at least 2 tanks, but not needing all of them just in case one is so much better than the others. If anything, them being balanced with that split in mind, 2 of them may be better suited for a boss, but never just one.
right now i love my dh tank, tested it in beta and just found the playstyle refreshing. At the start it was a bit weak but now its awesome. I like to see what happens with bfa
I am just the opposite, I mained a rogue and loved it but miss ranged so much. Not sure but I will likely main my hunter or for something different a shadow priest. Hunter has always been my gig but legion made hunters way to easy even for me, so hopefully they fix that.
I definatly share your opinion of the "melee feel", other than Fury Warrior the DK both looks and feels a lot better than most. That's including rolls other than tanks.
I think it’d be interesting if in the next xpac raids were significantly different per fight like with what you can succeed with. 3 tank fights , fights that need like 2 extra heals or even limit heals and tanks causing an enrage if ya had too many healers or too little. This way instead of doing the same thing every week maybe you get to heal or tank on or two fights because that’s what the fight needs. Maybe they wouldn’t have to make the mechanics as hard if ppl always had to change what roll they were playing. And another interesting thing would be more fights that change each week (think first boss of bastion of twilight in cata) just my thoughts on making it more fun so you don’t wanna change mains during an expansion.
It's like you where reading my mind. i started the expansion as a castor, and its gotten to the point that I miss melee, I miss tanking. So I know exactly what you're saying.
What I like about my Guardian Druid is that it has a Restoration, Balance and Feral specs. :) Do not really enjoy the Guardian gameplay, but I want to be able to tank with my main and I like all the other Druid specs.
Protip: For the deadly jumpy cats if the tank jumps on top of one of the red mushrooms and pulls the pack they will teleport to the tank and get stuck and be unable to jump on anyone.
I found it interesting that you brought up varimathras tanking. I think your setup of monk Dk probably have the hardest time with it. Monks struggle with the constant magic damage and DKs can't heal because of the shadow debuff. Do you think you could go more into how you would see that tank balance working in another video? Also as a main blood dk all expac vamp blood is OP OP and I love it.
If blizz isn't happy with Crusade they should be appalled by metamorphosis. Ive become satisfied with my ret. A lot of the rotational complexity comes from deep traits and legendaries. We've also received a lot of support for damage done in general, it's no longer solely focused on crusade.
Rets get a lot of shit for being a simple spec with an easy rotation despite the fact they're literally just middle of the pack damage wise, which is how it should be. Meanwhile affliction locks are some of the highest damage while just channeling 1 spell
Swapped to dk mid way through tos, as much as I preferred unholy i am starting to enjoy frost in antorus, the best thing is blood in m+ though, should have rerolled sooner
I would for most people agree that choosing a class/spec for BFA right now would be stupid but I have already decided on prot pally for one simple reason. EVERY expac since Wrath I have tried to main another class/spec but no matter the changes to it I always end up being a prot pally again and having to do a really annoying grind just to get up to snuff to do what i do. So ima just cut out that middle asshole and just start as prot pally XD.
I really hate what they did to all monk specs, ww is kinda improved but not much - only the boring serenity blackout kick spam got removed and we lost t18 with archimonde trinket and chi ex which I honestly thought was the best melee spec I've ever played in wow and I really hope they'll bring back as a talent choice like we do with dhs (right side demonic build, left side the other one).
Luckily my main for BFA is already chosen. Ive been playing fire mage since legion launch and have loved every second of it. Unless Blizzard drastically destroys the spec (PLEASE DONT) ill be sticking with it for BFA. as for the tanks having all of them ready, thats just too much with the AP grind of legion.
In my opinion the best 2 options for you to main in BFA would be DK and Monk. You’ve loved playing both for a while now. Every time you play Monk you always talk about how much you enjoy it and wish you spent more time on it. So maybe main Monk to truly give it the time and it gives you access to all 3 roles. Just my opinion.
Daemon Havok he’s mentioned in the past he doesn’t want to main a class that has all three roles because he feels obligated to keep every spec geared and ready to go. This might change with BFA since it hopefully shouldn’t be so unfriendly to off speccing and alting as legion, but I also understand since I main a monk and I feel the same way, however I enjoy all the specs enough that it’s not a chore to me. That being said he also gets all specs geared anyways to do stuff like the mage tower etc. so the excuse also doesn’t make much sense.
Before the first boss, when everyone jumps over to skip the giant trash pack.... If I have a warlock or Hunter in the group on the pug, I just assume they don't know to dismiss their pet and don't even bother with the skip.... Pretty much always a guarantee they will pull it otherwise xD
Nice piece of tanking! Love the comments telling you to move from the dragon breath when you still killed it 🤣. Can we have some Monk action soon? Preferably Brewmaster, but happy with anything
I so wanna switch main to a blood dk, but already having a prot pala at 965 and all legendaries, it feels so unmotivating to grind it up all over again
Exerc Eyo Its the end of the expansion man you do you. Even if it's just a little bit of levelling on the side. We certainly have more breathing room as we head down the home stretch here.
Yo Mike enjoy your content. So speaking of the homogenization of tanks in BFA isnt it more on the "Cutting edge" type of raiding it really matters? Like anything on normal /HC is easily doable by any class/specc. So you think the homogenization is more to like reduce the community perceptive of tanks that comes from cutting edge raiding scene or just ? And keep up the good work ey m8
Personally I would like to see Blizzard keep the tanks the same. I miss the old days when classes and specs where more unique Maybe if the raid sizes was higher guilds would have a need/ be able to have 1 of each tank? Having raids with certain bosses that would be significantly easier with a particular tank or even just a particular class in the raid seems good. I dont understand why you would want to make an MMO with all these classes and specs if they are the all same with different visuals.
12 stacks = 60% of health that means 2 ticks and you're dead. I play Holy Paladin and maybe using cds I can keep people alive but kinda hard to do for every pull. That's why I question this uber healer enduring 12 stacks of bursting like nothing.
He don't like simplistic tanks like druid or paladin, plays DK XD It is far harder to master correctly rotation cooldowns on paladin, for example, then to spam 3 keys on DK and use few cooldowns when needed. Reason why you had no idea why that last boss knows you is because DK have simplest active mitigation ever. Just keep bone shields and you are golden.
Stormrage lol bone shield isn't even the active mitigation. You have to deathstrike and that gives a 3 second active mitigation buff, it's still simple though
Yes, so faceroll combo that you can just forget about it. I forgot that part and tanked some with DK and still did fine. Same content that you can feceroll with paladin but I find DK simple tank with few OP abilities making tanking to easy. He dislikes faceroll DPS but runs easy tank.
A tank is a character designed to keep the attention of the monsters. Their attacks generate more threat than non-tanks and their abilities let them reduce the overall damage they take from getting hit so much.
no ego involved. I just didn't realize that. I wasn't sure how common it was. if I'm aware of it, I can be more helpful to those that want it when I come across it.
Preach, honestly those headphones you're giving away are really trash. They way they are constructed ANY, and I mean ANY, small touch to the metal frame causes a horrible metalic pinging noise to go through to the ear phones, and only people with very large heads will find the actual headset comfortable. I gaurantee most people would like the Hyper X Cloud II's or the Cloud Alpha's over the Revolver mate.
That's a real shame. I have the Cloud II's and I went and bought the Revolvers because I thought they'd be an upgrade. Not only did they continually slide off my head and wouldn't stay put, but any movement caused this weird as hell metallic pinging noise. Took them back THAT day when I learned this was just something the Revolver is known for.
Mike, for percentages in m+, you can use Angry Keystones addon, it adds % of any mob in a dungeon to their tooltip. Alos, it adds a gold/silver/bronze indication on the m+ timer window, all very seamlessly
''1 min phone'' busted preach
"2 min phone"
Mike you can side step the breath on the dragon
Am i missing something? i've always side stepped the breath?
MFW youtube hero is a failtank XD
Instantly came down to comment the same thing.
Not necessary on blood DK the only tank spec that doesn't need to dodge it all the way to m+20
He said in the video he stood in breath to not move the boss on purpose
hey preach, iv been playing for over 5 years at this point and only found the confidence to find a guild and raid in october and got my first AOTC tonight. wouldn't have been able to get here without you or your channel, keep up the good work! Thanks and holla from team 'Straya
am a healer btw, so watching you suffer in CoS made me laugh maniacally
Congrats!

Hey preach can you play shaman at some point? We haven’t seen that in a long time if at all
Notsuspicious the judgmental gell yeah. Enhancer tdp is required
Reen I wouldn’t mind resto, but I would LOVE either of the dps
I say we give the headset to Andy
This!
loves a DK this lad :P
I'll probably main my Monk in BfA. Monks are beast. Love the videos, Preach. You rock!
RJ Rains warrior is best, monk best alt
Brett Melton Lol. Monk for life
Would love to see you play a monk. You said you've always liked it. But I can understand if you don't want to play a class that can heal also
right now i love my dh tank, tested it in beta and just found the playstyle refreshing. At the start it was a bit weak but now its awesome. I like to see what happens with bfa

Can confirm that headset is devilishly expensive but very very comfortable. Smashing bit of kit and ideal if you have a big head!
"I expect a couple of early deaths, and after this should be fine"
The words of such an optimist....
Protip: For the deadly jumpy cats if the tank jumps on top of one of the red mushrooms and pulls the pack they will teleport to the tank and get stuck and be unable to jump on anyone.
You know you can move out of the breath on the dragon
I don't think we know that about tanks. I think the BlizzCon alpha build class changes mean nothing for the final changes.
I found it interesting that you brought up varimathras tanking. I think your setup of monk Dk probably have the hardest time with it. Again, I get the point you make and agree but still...
Swapped to dk mid way through tos, as much as I preferred unholy i am starting to enjoy frost in antorus, the best thing is blood in m+ though, should have rerolled sooner
Random question, did you finish all of the class review series? I only ask because thy aren’t all in the playlist.
I would for most people agree that choosing a class/spec for BFA right now would be stupid but I have already decided on prot pally for one simple reason. That start is how I feel tanking in every pug :D
I sincerely hope you roll DK, for some reason it's just my favourite to watch.
btw you can sidestep the breath on the 3rb boss
welcome to the tank life preach

Pretty much always a guarantee they will pull it otherwise xD
Well, I've mained a protection warrior since vanilla so I can promise you it will be the same for BFA.
AMS does work with madning shout! (bear attack). The more you know :)
please preach sidestep the breath of the dragon, thankfully every Healer
Nice piece of tanking! Love the comments telling you to move from the dragon breath when you still killed it 🤣.

how come you don't bother getting bone shield up most of the time?
anyone got that quaking cooldown weakaura?
Plsss can you show us what keys u are getting after run? Curiosity is killing me
Hey Preach. Id love these vids but I have an idear. Instead of wow sounds what about some chill music? dunno what you guys think about that?
tried it in another vid dude, people didn't like it
Yo Mike enjoy your content.

Warriors are beastmode on Varimathras...and nothing else.
I don't play WoW anymore (moved onto other games), but watching Mike play is still quite entertaining
I always miss playing retail, but when I watch actual gameplay I just decide to wait for vanilla servers.
Love your videoes mate. Any chance you'll do a TDP unholy anytime soon? :-)
There is something about eating you play a DK that is very interesting and entertaining lol
Do a windwalker tdp??
Preach, my boy!. I want in on that headset. Please. :)
Could you show healing+dmg when playing the dk? Would be interesting :) Are you playing deflection? Keep it up man! ^^
did i miss a video, who got the previous headset?
Personally I would like to see Blizzard keep the tanks the same. my BFA pick is easy been a hunter since I started in TBC and will always play hunter no mater what state it is in or when it only has 2 specs
I'd like to see Preach take that mage into LFR and just melt faces. Just for the lulz
10-12 stacks of Bursting do like 4m (I think it can be more) per tick... What healer exactly can heal that?
Armando Vera bursting does a % of your health in damage I believe 5% per stack
12 stacks = 60% of health that means 2 ticks and you're dead. I play Holy Paladin and maybe using cds I can keep people alive but kinda hard to do for every pull. That's why I question this uber healer enduring 12 stacks of bursting like nothing.
I see a TDP. I have to stop all other actions.
The only horses that i'll be holding in BfA is Divine Steed.
It would be really cool if you signed it depending on if the person wanted you too.
Do a rogue tdp :)
He don't like simplistic tanks like druid or paladin, plays DK XD

I miss the old DnD graphic
Oi m8, can you play something that's not a DK or Mage. Like maybe a shaman or hunter?
Oooh! I would love to win a gaming headset! :)
wait how do you win them?
Main a Monk in BFA and represent us
preach you showed the picture of the normal hyperx revolver not the hyperx revolver s
i know i know its ocd plz don't judge me
the difference between them is that the normal revolver is red and the revolver S are white
Preach m8 u can dogde the breath Dresaron does u don't need to take those in the face
What the hell is mater?
dh meta should be like in warcraft 3
Tanked a DHT 19 last night with the guild, according to my healer I'm a lot better than I say, I think he's lying
'Healer is BiS', 0.0 heal dps...playing a good healer isn't only about healing :P
Purgatory? What
I liked old demo, it was fun lol
I know I'm kinda a newbie, but what does "tanking" mean? Is that a character that does melee damage?
A tank is a character designed to keep the attention of the monsters. Their attacks generate more threat than non-tanks and their abilities let them reduce the overall damage they take from getting hit so much.
4 out of 10 troll
I want them to give mages a tank spec
I feel like warlock would make more sense.
Papi Papagalov Shouldn't have to choose, blizzard is so ass backwards every class should be a tank,healer,dps..
+Kuivia Already exists, it's called Affliction :D
give all tanks stacker
That huntard.........# nohunters
Wtf "maeta" "mayta"???? Meta?
you know...that breath...you would be dead af on tyran weeks. Armor debuff and damage 0.,o
I was watching the get good videos, are there actually people that don't do mythic dungeons or don't have the basics down?...
no ego involved. I just didn't realize that. I wasn't sure how common it was. if I'm aware of it, I can be more helpful to those that want it when I come across it.
Did this the other day with 41 deaths :( missed out by 2min

my first ever first comment, gg
Sexy DK
Preach, honestly those headphones you're giving away are really trash. Hyper X didn't give him Cloud II's, he gets to giveaway what Hyper X wants him to. But I do agree, clouds are BiS.
