I have rheumatoid arthritis and I got it when I was in my 20’s and I’m now in my mid 30’s. I know what it’s like for people not to understand my disease and how life altering it can be. I also know you are a beautiful young lady and your testimony will help others going through similar experiences.
Tourette’s is not something you typically hear about but more people are silently dealing with and I’m sure this encourages them to be more open with their life!

To be fair, it is a hard syndrome to understand without giggling. But it is very real. I knew someone once with Tourettes and you just get used to it eventually. And they know that because they have to deal with peoples reactions every single day. It's most unfortunate, but such is life.
In just three minutes Ms. Baylen Dupree has dramatically increased my understanding of Tourette Syndrome. Thank you, Chris Cuomo, for bringing her onto the show. Yes, I too laughed when hearing some of her involuntary comments, but I also gained a sensitivity about TS that I did not have before watching this brief clip.
I’ve watched this video no less than 5 times and it’s still awesome

He said “are there ADULTS like me who think you’re acting?” My understanding is that he was saying just as he is an adult, are there also other adults who think she’s acting. He’s the one who invited her to the show to tell her story, so I believe he wouldn’t have told that girl that he thinks she’s acting

I’m very proud of you. I have Tourette’s syndrome..I’m 75 years old..my brother has it and my son ( who passed away 91/2 years ago at 24) had it
I agree with alot of people saying They wanna say these things to Chris themselves.... But I also admire this young lady for putting herself out there, bc im sure its embarrassing at times. But she's got a purpose to fill, and thats to bring awareness to this condition......Way to go Baylen
My grandson has touretts so bad it makes her look totally normal. Self inflicted damage to the max. What makes it even worse is he was born deaf. He signs well, but she displayed little compared to what I've experienced. Being a little guy he has no issue slapping a clip board out of a cops hands, pushing him and telling him to go FU-- off, flip him off and physically threaten him. The begin ticking violently, yelling and screaming as the deaf do. Thankfully most of the cops know him and put up with him and feel sorry. Hes been in the hospital multiple times for self inflicted damage. He is an extreme case. No meds help unless you wanted to drug him right up. Sad, very sad a human has to go through this sort of thing and being 100% deaf.
Sorry for your grandson. I wish there was something to help him. Do people with tourettes that aren't deaf hear know what they are saying during or after they say it?

I have been called the C word by someone when I was at a takeaway , they looked at me said it then just turned back as if nothing had happened. Another time walking down this street and person looked at me in that same expressionless way and said F U and then just carried on. I just know both these people had Tourettes.
