typically it should be center on the lowend and wider on the highend. Wide bass sounds are lost in the mix typically. I wouldnt put the S1 on the send but I would group tracks and use it there. Do not increase the width of lowend sound, it doesnt translate well in clubs.
I apologize for the jerks posting on your videos, maybe they're jealous? you take the time to freely share your knowledge and in HD. I think I wouldn't have time or patience to do it. Thank you in the names of those who can't say it. Rock on!, I mean.. Dance on :D
Great Video as usual Brent! Can you please make a video that explains how to / the benefits of mixing in MONO.... I've been watching some tutorials on it lately but I find nobody explains it as well as you do. Thanks
Thanks for the great video as ALWAYS Sadowick. You're the best on UA-cam dude. But honestly, that vocal does sound to be out of key. Nonetheless, I learned a lot.
When making leads would you use a stereo widen to make it fuller or clone the lead and pan one left one right? Like in trance for instance to they take the stereo widen on one lead sound or do they clone the track again and pan one left one right? Sorry im a noob. Your vids are great by the way i love em!
Hey there, thank you for all the great tips and stuff... I have spent a lot of time out on youtube and watching a lot of tutorials of all you beautifull people about mastering/mixing/stereo imaging... But something is not very clear (for me). What parts have to be in stereo or mono and at which width? For instance in techno and what about the drums (kick, hh)? synths? bass? Looking foward to hear from you. Cheers.
Generally, you will hear the kick drum and bass in the middle. So I wouldn't widen those much, and don't pan them left or right. Synths and everything else mess around with and see what you like!
I was using the S1 on the stereo bus but I realizing the highs/brightness are being lost am I using this right the setting i was trying bass trim 3.0 width1.50 shuffle 2.2 how can i get back the high end
Great for trance!! that voice is like beeing a pad. i would put de main voice more in the center in another part of the song in case it uses actual words
This video is very fantastic!! However, if you check Beat Generals through UA-cam they've a large amount of precise info about these techniques though.
Sadowick is the best, don't listen to haters! Continue making vids!
nice series of videos on mixing, it is just what i was looking for, thanks a lot, man

Great video. Just a word of caution never over use this over to may tracks or you can run into phasing issues. Its best used to widen mono tracks.
Cool stuff. Thx man.
Fantastic!!!!

This statement has so much stupid in it it hurt my head.

When you release it and it gets played in mono anyway.
i would personally never use waves center like that

The out of tune vocal was a little distracting. Otherwise nice video.
