Kemenyan and Sambrani are the names of Benzoin Resins in local languages.
These are natural resins produced by trees of the Styrax. family. Throughout times, they are used by natives for prayers and venerations of the divines. Benzoin is eventually widespread throughout the world for it's medicinal properties and as offerings among various religious faiths.
Within these regions- Benzoin Incense cups are specifically produced for burning alone, or filled with more resin materials for enhanced aromas. Such practice is rarely known in other parts of the world, where burning resin incenses on charcoal discs are norms.

That is interesting. I didn't know about this practice, though I do know that incense is burned commonly throughout the world. The particular incense that they burn in Christian churches is called "Frankincense". This incense is similar to yours, as it is a tree resin.
Sorry about the Frankincense part, I realized that you already know that.
On the other end, Frankincense seems costlier here. Though i wonder if Benzoin is likewise used in some churches alongside Frankincense
@@miiigoreng Frankincense is even costly where I live. I believe it is because of the process in which it's produced.
