For example, the highly rated&priced green royal hojari frankincense from Oman is not one of my favorites, because I'm not much into the refreshing notes of this resin. I'm pretty sure these trees don't need any protection if they're making $6,000 per litre from it's essential oil. The trees probably get better protection and healthcare than the humans who farm them.

Don't cut this type of trees, you can also cut a little bit and you have lots of gum. Save trees and its not expensive it's common and many trees are available in all countrys.
