@@YakMotley yes, they said it was only going to be a half inch, and we got three and a half inches. Biggest problem was that in the afternoon it was wet snow fort Peck the other snow down and it all turned ice.
No..snow flurries aren't that unusual as it happens most years in panhandle...accumulation is what's rare! North Florida is far more seasonal than south florida.
@@YakMotley Not even a flake!! It only snows a real snow like yours about every five years or longer. We're snow deprived southerners 😂😂. Thank you, I think I'll get the kayak out next time it snows.
I came across this video and it has just warmed my heart. My wife and I came down here to Jacksonville to get away from snow and cold. Growing up in the mountains of West Virginia, winter was "Hard Times" and I believe you can grow course and hard about this, but watching you and your family, it has made me realize how growing course like this can make one loose sight of what really matters. You and your family's child like view of just seven inches of snow and your description of how your neighbors finding ways of playing in that "Great Blizard" of Pensacola 2025 just warmed my heart and brought me back to a time of mountain side sleigh rides and bonfires... Thank you, you brought something back I hadn't realized I had lost.
You southerners are so funny 😅I remember playing in 6 foot snow as a child in Montana. We made snow forts and sled all day. We couldn’t feel our limbs when we came in but it was a fun time.
It's going to be 100F here today, Ya can keep all that snow to yourself mate! I moved to a warm climate for a reason. All that snow has brought out your inner child, you are laughing more than your Son.
We're in Milton! The Weather Channel said Milton set the record yesterday with 10". Most is still on the ground!!! 60 years of living in Florida and I've never seen anything close to this! 😂😂😂
That is insane I live in Tallahassee now and we got smacked! but not like that . I used to live in Pensacola and graduated from the old Washington High we lived off of Conway Dr. off Bayou Blvd. and had relatives who used to work out in your area at Monsanto. Actually looks pretty! like when I used to live in Rapid City South Dakota
The snow didnt make it far enough to reach us in Tampa area but its been downright freezing. Im happy for all the north Fl residents that got to experience the snow. Im happy to see all of the kids and the big kids too e joying themselves. All the smiles are heartwarming . Play on...........
@shadowfax9177 , hello neighbor. Yeah. I wish the kids here could have experienced it like I did. I was 9 when it snowed here. I'm 54 now and remember it like it was yesterday. It's a once in a lifetime thing if you stay in Fl. I must say I can't remember the last time it was so cold for so long. FL doesn't usually participate in Winter.I bet those children are mad . Maybe you can snowchase the next arctic air mass that comes along 🤣 🥶 ❄️
@people_watcher I was just saying the same thing. We're actually having winter weather instead of just cold snaps. We'll definitely have to chase the next winter storm. They're dying to see snow again.
I live in nearby Pace. Been in Santa Rosa County for all of my nearly 53 years. Never seen snow, like this, here before. I've been all over the country between the military and civilian work. This is wild! Never thought I would have to clear the snow from the truck!! My 10 year old daughter has never seen snow before. Glad you all had a blast in it!😊
I am so excited for ya'll! Extremely crazy weather! Pensacola, Florida! Wow! You have some beautiful scenery in your video. Looks like you all enjoyed yourselves. Glad that ya'll got to experience it. It does get old after a while though. Pretty and some fun but it does get old when it sticks around a while. Really Glad your little boy had fun playing in the snow and got to see it. ❤
Hi guys! I'm in Mobile, AL, about 45-50 miles away from Pensacola. The official snow accumulation here was 6.25 inches, but I gotta tell you, I went outside with a ruler after the snow stopped. I measured all over the yard, in 6 different places. Everywhere I sunk the ruler into the snow, it was between 7 and 8 inches deep. I never thought I would see this much snow at my house!
@@kimsmith6469Atlantic oceanic currents help warm air from warmer parts of the Atlantic (like the Caribbean) flow up the Northern Atlantic. Among other things, this helps warm areas like Europe that would otherwise be much colder given their latitude. As the sea gradually rises and warms up, these Atlantic currents weaken and have less ability to transfer warm temperatures. It also means that the Polar Vortex we’ve all heard about for the last decade will be more frequently pushed down south in the wintertime, resulting in more extreme cold temps in the winter and more snow/ice over time. But we’re still going to be dealing with record breaking heat every few summers like we’ve been dealing with. The oceans warming and rising means we will be experiencing more extremes in the summer AND winter over time. God bless.

Jack, it look like little Jack was having a blast. I was born in upstate New York and lived there until I was about eight and a half before my parents moved us to florida. Last week in Murphy, we were supposed to get a half inch of snow and we ended up with three and a half inches. As a Canadian that gets snow every winter and is used to it. Seeing people in Florida who never get snow actually get snow and watching them get all excited and playing in it is just so awesome everyone deserves to experience snow at some point
Absolutely terrific. Very cool, watched from Southern Florida 😎🌴🥶
Oooh I love your sago palm in your front yard. 9:05. That's a multi-trunk sago, which is kind of rare. It's beautiful.
Hopefully the snow an freezing temps don't damage it.
You have done a great Job filming all this!
Snowed in? After that? Looks like you could open the door.
Truly magical video writing to you from Tampa area. Just want to let you know you basically showed your address. Our UA-cam Channel is inactive but i always spent a lot of time editing for safety. Just looking out for you and thanks for the unreal scenery!
I live in Beulah and the snow out here was just as amazing as what you have.

I'm in central Florida just east of Tampa. Temps have been in the low 40s for the last 3 days. Raining all day yesterday and today. We can use that.
No snow but it's 36 degrees right now.
What a wonderful experience for you and your son! You guys made me smile just seeing you playing in the snow! Enjoy! Maybe they will continue sending Florida snow in the future with weather modification…you never know.
