Yes, the Alpinestars Tech 7 Enduro Drystar boots are waterproof when used for their intended purpose of riding a dirt bike through inclement weather or creek crossings, etc.
A customer contacted me about a UA-cam video where they saw someone stick the Alpinestars Tech 7's in water for more than 5 min and eventually some water got in. That test is flawed. Your car is waterproof while driving through rain, going through the car wash, etc as it is used for it's intended purpose. If you drive your car into a lake to test it's waterproof capabilities, obviously water is going to leak in.
The same thing goes for these boots. They are waterproof when used for dirt bike riding in rain, creek crossings, snow etc. But if you choose to stand in water for more than 5 min then water is going to start getting in.
The iPhone is waterproof but only for up to 30 min and then beyond that point, water will start to intrude. So if you are thinking these are completely waterproof for fishing at the lake while riding your dirt bike, these are not the boots for you :)

No they wouldn't, I guarantee if you put Toucans in that same bucket or Sidi Adventure 2 they will leak just as fast.

Yea I don't think any boot would stay dry even with Gore Tex. They just aren't made to be submerged for extended periods of time. I think crossing a creek or riding through a pond, whatever is no problem. But standing in water, it's going to eventually get in.

    Hi,
I’m sorry but I really don’t agree with you.
I bought the same pair as the one you show on your video. I rode them offroad : crossing normal puddles (no long time immersion), riding under rain, etc… and my feet were soaking wet. Water was definitely entering through forefoot.
The boots are great, but poor waterproofness. I think inside sealings joints and quality control are poor compared to gore tex products.
I have Sidi Adventure boots and never had any leaking issue, even under worst weather conditions.

Are the Drystar versions significantly hotter in warm weather than the standard version? My Toucans could get really uncomfortable at higher temps (Southwest deserts in the summer).

I haven't heard anyone say that they feel warmer in hot weather vs regular Tech 7's. The Tech 7's are Drystar layered and the Toucan's are Gore-Tex so maybe the drystars wont' be as hot.
