I really think this game under different circumstances could’ve been one of the best Sonic games in history. The concept of a darker game is something that I always had interest in and the soundtrack, this one especially really was amazing. I hope this doesn’t discourage more dark concepts, just hopefully with more time to develop proper mechanics and better planning story wise.

Avery Hilbig You can use the invisibility to make it easier. As long as you don’t go in the searchlights the Solaris eyes won’t throw things at you. Just be careful where you stop to recharge it otherwise you’ll get sucked in during the animation.
I despise this level..... 8 minutes in one go for this guy. I received at least 10 game overs on this section. It was so bad I literally just put the game away, said fuck it, and never touched it for a good couple of months. Then... yesterday, one of my girlfriend's friends came over. Major Sonic fan also. He had never played the end of 06, he had only played a few levels. After having a laugh with him over the Mach Speed sections in Wave Ocean, and the horrible physics in White Acropolis, I offered him a bargain. If he could beat End of the World, he would get a free Cherry Coke.... 1 game over, and then he managed to beat it. 1 fucking game over, and that was only because he was trying to figure out the controls. I never made it past Silver's section. Along this guy comes and he hammers through it in about half an hour. Truly amazed me. This guy was quite a player.
DrummerFromFife same for me with Death Egg in S 3 & K. It's undoubtedly the worst final zone with the worst final boss and I only lost to the final boss because he kept spamming his fireball attack so I couldn't hit him. Poorly designed zone
I wish the side characters like Knuckles and Tails could've had more action in the game because originally, they each had their own episode like in Adventure. Hopefully in the future Sega will go back to that formula.
Amy deserved a lot more screen time and (fixed) game play. Personally I would'v loved to see what Knuckle's and Omega's episodes would'v been like because they both sort of come out of nowhere in the game. There was even a planned Metal Sonic episode for the story so that would'v been cool to see as well

This level gets a lot of flak, but I actually love it. I can never get an S-rank but I can usually get through without dying (it's usually Shadow's section that trips me up, it's not a particularly difficult section but it's often easy to accidentally run straight into one of the purple eyes)
The only way to get the S-rank is to kill minions when it's possible like the guy in the video did. Letting them die doesn't grant you points at all, and obviously don't die too.

I’d recently dug out my old copy of ‘06, and found all I had left was this stage and the final boss. I used it as kind of a tutorial, and managed to beat End of the World on my second try without any deaths! I’d been trying since 2016 to beat it, and I did it tonight! I’m glad I found this video!
I feel like amy was the most rushed character. Amy's double jump doesn't even work and her hammer has the smallest hurt box ever and invisibility? really? also amy is only playable in one main game level and then a side mission. Blaze and shadow seem like they're the most finished characters. they don't really have any glaring flaws and they have a lot of attacks to utilize while amy only has 1. poor girl.
Honestly, if this game was remade the characters who need an overhaul the most are Amy and Omega. Amy doesn’t feel finished, and I think Omega would benefit more from a 3rd- person shooter style gameplay
It’s funny to me that the final boss to the last story of 06’s was met to be hard in a way that made it turn out easy. But unlike The End of the World Stage it’s so complicated and frustrating to beat, that SEGA purposely made this as a challenge to us. I bet half of us stopped playing this game after dying on the last part of the stage.
uh everyone is overlooking one teensy tiny detail the fact that A there are three life capsules in tails part which will bump up your life total from 5 to 8 and 2 in omega's section which will give you 10 lives if there are any in silver, knuckles, rouge or shadow's parts someone please tell me where they are bc i cannot find them

This is nothing short of Outstanding. I've played the game for a long time and never controlled these charecters a Fraction as good as this. You've displayed just how much this hard game can really Shine
Man...those purple eyes are just terrifying at a close range or when time was falling apart (Hint at 5:21) I heard in Rouge's route in Wave Ocean of that level, if you go to that lighthouse not far to the purple Chaos Emerald to get a 1UP box there and stayed there when time falls apart to it's core and those purple eyes show up...YOU WILL NOT SURVIVE! STAY AWAY FROM THERE!! THEY SUCK YOU IN INSTANTLY!!!
My only problem with this game was the load times and the weird controls camera angles bugs and the fact that a human girl loved sonic which in my opinion she should have been an anthropomorphic creature like the rest of the cast overall I'd consider to be one the best sonic games
Your Elise problem shouldn't matter in your appreciation of the game imo. I don't really care about Elise being a human but that love story makes no sense and exists only because all the story falls apart without it.
idk if anyone noticed, but you collect the same colored chaos emeralds in these levels. you collect the dark blue one twice. first with Rouge then with Amy. Then it looks you you collect the silver one twice. First with Omega, then with Shadow. then the light blue emerald, First with knuckles, then with silver. There are 7 emeralds ,and all emeralds are a different color. they are red, light blue, dark blue, purple, green, silver, and yellow. Just wanted to point that out incase no one noticed.
Actually the colors just look messed up because of those void-things and this whole end-of-the-world-thing around. You can see which character collects which emerald by looking at the playing theme's name: Tails: Yellow Omega: Green Knuckles: light blue Silver: White Rouge: Purple Amy: Blue Shadow: Red

No, I am the same for a number of reasons. I think it's Sonic Adventure 3 because it has the hubworlds, like SA, it's split into different stories that at the end make sense, like both SAs. Similar to Cannon's Core because you have to make make it to the end of different sections with different characters.
XxPandomRandomxX having multiple stories and a final story is something that appeared in every Sonic-game in that timespan, look at 'Heroes and 'Shadow. There's always a final episode where all the characters work together to do something that will allow either Sonic, Shadow or any other hedgehog to go super and beat the crap outta a monster. This formula has absolutely nothing to do with the Adventure series only.

For the context of the End of the World, the bugs and glitches kind of aid in the atmosphere of the levels. Space-time is unravelling, so visual glitches would be a rational thing to see. Then again, the game is filled with glitches, so oh well.
These end of the world levels always skeeved me out when I was younger. The eyes of Solaris especially in Silver’s level were the most anxiety inducing parts alongside the vivid dark skies
I honestly never understood why people hate so much on Elise. I mean: Sure. I'm annoyed by her too because she gets kidnapped over and over and over, but most people hate her because she loves sonic. Well its almost the same people who liked Maria...
People are able to like Maria because in spite of her limited appearances she felt like an actual _character,_ who we knew was a close friend of Shadow's and sacrificed her own life for him so he could later go on to do good for the world. Elise, on the other hand, gets kidnapped more times in a single game than Princess Peach has in the Mario franchise (please don't take this literally, this is hyperbole), _falls in love with an anthropomorphic hedgehog,_ and later has a near-complete disregard for the well-being of the world because of that attachment to him. Elise absolutely sucks as a character because there's nothing about her that's redeeming.
@@VideoGameLova1 if you arguing about Elise not caring about the world and choosing a hedgehog, you should bash Amy on that too. She stated to Silver "If I had to choose between the world and Sonic, I would choose Sonic." The only reason I see why Elise would think about Sonic the way she does is because he is her only real friend in her life. She was never allowed to be free to express her emotions in fear of releasing Iblis and dooming the world. Love technically doesn't have to be romantic, but Sonic was her greatest friend, and the only one matter of fact. You'd do everything to stay with your friend.
I think it’s the fact that there was implication of romance between Sonic (a hedgehog) and Elise (a human), especially having Elise sharing a kiss during the final story. Elise was based off SEGA’s idea of giving Sonic a human girlfriend (Madonna) before scrapping the idea. Vs Shadow and Maria had a sibling type of relationship. She was the key point to Shadow’s story and character development, going from vengeance against the world to protecting the world like Maria would have wanted it.
Very nice S rank video! This was amazing to watch! I’ve been using your videos to S rank this game and I’ve completely done Sonic’s episode. Currently on Silver’s episode and having so much fun with it.
After getting used to the last story i decided to challenge myself and beat everyone's stage without touching the eagle statues and if i died or touch a statue i had to start all over again from the beginning. Took a while since Amy's and Shadow's version was the most difficult but eventually i pulled it off.
If the Adventure gameplay style ever made a comeback, and Knuckles was playable, they should take notes from his few moments in this game. Still point A to point B, but more open and fit for his abilities. That doesn't mean you have to ditch treasure hunting, but I don't think every level should be like that.
This game for many people is bad but honestly, I liked it, even though it has many bugs, has some cool bugs in it as play with characters in stages that do not have access, etc. (my opinion, if you do not like this game, and want to say that game is bad on that comment, I will not judge you, it is your opinion.) ;)
@Mobiandevil334 If you don't touch the eagle statues for awhile, Solaris gravity and shooting eyes will start springing up. The longer it goes, the more they come, and the gravity eyes have a very strong gravitational pull. The screen will also become more purplish and distorted. (As seen on Silver's section) That's why eagle statues are the key in giving you more time to get the Chaos Emerald, by temporarily eliminating all Solaris' eyes. :)

I invented some lines for when she gets to find a Chaos Emerald. At the beginning of the mission: “I need to find those Chaos Emeralds, and fast!” When she finds it: “There it is! Sonic, hang on!
Is it just me or do those time portal things have greenish blue windows in them? Also the end of the world level gives me a very legend of Spyro vibe. Interestingly the first game in that series came out the same year as this one. Early promotional pictures even said on them: "sonic: a new beginning", or something like that.

it would have been, if all the bugs and glitches were fixed. and im being honest about this too, i felt thsi would have been a real winner if it was somewhat comfortable to play. and if the story would have been modified just a bit, and the end of the game not feel like sega just took the smelliest, slimiest crap on us, it WOULD have been one of the best. but it never happened.

When I first played this game I used to call him Friendly the eagle.
There are Eagle Statues too and if you touch them, it will get rid of those annoying rifts portals.

This was my favorite part of the whole game... The urgenacy,the stakes, the dramatic tempo changing music

Amy's double jump doesn't even work and her hammer has the smallest hurt box ever and invisibility? really? also amy is only playable in one main game level and then a side mission. Blaze and shadow seem like they're the most finished characters. they don't really have any glaring flaws and they have a lot of attacks to utilize while amy only has 1. poor girl.

Honestly, if this game was remade the characters who need an overhaul the most are Amy and Omega. Amy doesn’t feel finished, and I think Omega would benefit more from a 3rd- person shooter style gameplay
I heard if you double jump as Amy when close to those purple eyes, it'll be hard to escape and you will die in that part

It’s funny to me that the final boss to the last story of 06’s was met to be hard in a way that made it turn out easy. But unlike The End of the World Stage it’s so complicated and frustrating to beat, that SEGA purposely made this as a challenge to us. I bet half of us stopped playing this game after dying on the last part of the stage.

uh everyone is overlooking one teensy tiny detail the fact that A there are three life capsules in tails part which will bump up your life total from 5 to 8 and 2 in omega's section which will give you 10 lives if there are any in silver, knuckles, rouge or shadow's parts someone please tell me where they are bc i cannot find them
that eagle had just as big a role as everyone else in this. eagle is the real mvp

Your Elise problem shouldn't matter in your appreciation of the game imo. I don't really care about Elise being a human but that love story makes no sense and exists only because all the story falls apart without it.
idk if anyone noticed, but you collect the same colored chaos emeralds in these levels. you collect the dark blue one twice. first with Rouge then with Amy. Then it looks you you collect the silver one twice. First with Omega, then with Shadow. then the light blue emerald, First with knuckles, then with silver. There are 7 emeralds ,and all emeralds are a different color. they are red, light blue, dark blue, purple, green, silver, and yellow. Just wanted to point that out incase no one noticed.

Actually the colors just look messed up because of those void-things and this whole end-of-the-world-thing around. You can see which character collects which emerald by looking at the playing theme's name:
Tails: Yellow
Omega: Green
Knuckles: light blue
Silver: White
Rouge: Purple
Amy: Blue
Shadow: Red

No, I am the same for a number of reasons. I think it's Sonic Adventure 3 because it has the hubworlds, like SA, it's split into different stories that at the end make sense, like both SAs.
Similar to Cannon's Core because you have to make make it to the end of different sections with different characters.
XxPandomRandomxX having multiple stories and a final story is something that appeared in every Sonic-game in that timespan, look at 'Heroes and 'Shadow. There's always a final episode where all the characters work together to do something that will allow either Sonic, Shadow or any other hedgehog to go super and beat the crap outta a monster. This formula has absolutely nothing to do with the Adventure series only.

For the context of the End of the World, the bugs and glitches kind of aid in the atmosphere of the levels. Space-time is unravelling, so visual glitches would be a rational thing to see.
Then again, the game is filled with glitches, so oh well.
The way Amy's Piko Piko Hammer didn't hit her target was like Wario saying "D'oh I missed!"
These end of the world levels always skeeved me out when I was younger. The eyes of Solaris especially in Silver’s level were the most anxiety inducing parts alongside the vivid dark skies

I honestly never understood why people hate so much on Elise. I mean: Sure. I'm annoyed by her too because she gets kidnapped over and over and over, but most people hate her because she loves sonic. Well its almost the same people who liked Maria...
People are able to like Maria because in spite of her limited appearances she felt like an actual _character,_ who we knew was a close friend of Shadow's and sacrificed her own life for him so he could later go on to do good for the world.
Elise, on the other hand, gets kidnapped more times in a single game than Princess Peach has in the Mario franchise (please don't take this literally, this is hyperbole), _falls in love with an anthropomorphic hedgehog,_ and later has a near-complete disregard for the well-being of the world because of that attachment to him. Elise absolutely sucks as a character because there's nothing about her that's redeeming.

The only reason I see why Elise would think about Sonic the way she does is because he is her only real friend in her life. She was never allowed to be free to express her emotions in fear of releasing Iblis and dooming the world.
Love technically doesn't have to be romantic, but Sonic was her greatest friend, and the only one matter of fact. You'd do everything to stay with your friend.
I think it’s the fact that there was implication of romance between Sonic (a hedgehog) and Elise (a human), especially having Elise sharing a kiss during the final story. Elise was based off SEGA’s idea of giving Sonic a human girlfriend (Madonna) before scrapping the idea.
Vs Shadow and Maria had a sibling type of relationship. She was the key point to Shadow’s story and character development, going from vengeance against the world to protecting the world like Maria would have wanted it.
If this game was finished and not released in this early-beta-like state, it would have probably been really enjoyable.

After getting used to the last story i decided to challenge myself and beat everyone's stage without touching the eagle statues and if i died or touch a statue i had to start all over again from the beginning. Took a while since Amy's and Shadow's version was the most difficult but eventually i pulled it off.

If the Adventure gameplay style ever made a comeback, and Knuckles was playable, they should take notes from his few moments in this game. Still point A to point B, but more open and fit for his abilities. That doesn't mean you have to ditch treasure hunting, but I don't think every level should be like that.
This game for many people is bad but honestly, I liked it, even though it has many bugs, has some cool bugs in it as play with characters in stages that do not have access, etc. (my opinion, if you do not like this game, and want to say that game is bad on that comment, I will not judge you, it is your opinion.) ;)

@Mobiandevil334 If you don't touch the eagle statues for awhile, Solaris gravity and shooting eyes will start springing up. The longer it goes, the more they come, and the gravity eyes have a very strong gravitational pull. The screen will also become more purplish and distorted. (As seen on Silver's section) That's why eagle statues are the key in giving you more time to get the Chaos Emerald, by temporarily eliminating all Solaris' eyes. :)

How 06 could've been without the damn load screens, ladies and gentlemen! Not so bad anymore, still buggy as hell though.
Is it just me or do those time portal things have greenish blue windows in them? Also the end of the world level gives me a very legend of Spyro vibe. Interestingly the first game in that series came out the same year as this one. Early promotional pictures even said on them: "sonic: a new beginning", or something like that.

it would have been, if all the bugs and glitches were fixed. and im being honest about this too, i felt thsi would have been a real winner if it was somewhat comfortable to play. and if the story would have been modified just a bit, and the end of the game not feel like sega just took the smelliest, slimiest crap on us, it WOULD have been one of the best. but it never happened.
