This is how you get major leaks. Have to use a rubber pan liner and staple & glue down. Then glue down your drain & caulk the weeping seals. Then you can lay down your mortar bed and slope it to your drain. In about 2 years. Your down stairs ceiling will be soaked 😅
I was a plumber for over 40 years and installed a lot of showers. We always installed either copper or rubber pans before the tile person would come and do the mud floor for the tile. On occasion the tile person would put a roofing nail or 2 to hold the pan down if it wasn't sitting quite flat. Usually, about 1 year later we would get a call of a stain in the ceiling below the shower. So we would tear out the shower floor and find the nails. Shower water with time saturates the concrete and sits on the copper or rubber pan surface. Eventually, it would leak around the nails. In your video I believe I saw no copper or rubber pan plus nails into the sub floor. Am I missing something? I think you guys did a great job on the floor. Did it leak? I only watched the mortar shower pan video so perhaps I missed something in a previous video.
It’s a 1/4 inch per foot not 1/2 inch. And if your not using a pan liner you need to top it with a liquid or hopefully you use the shluter liner in your next video. But you when you poured water in your dry pack I decided to find other videos…. Good luck
