    Why can't Petra bring this play to the Majors??? It's so sad. I really want Petra to push to win a couple more Slams and maybe even snag the #1 ranking. She has missed out on #1 by a hair twice and absolutely deserves to have #1 on her resume. Such a great person too!

    I think what looked like a bit of luck on Garbiñe´s side (walkover) turned against her. I think Kvitova had a chance to adapt to the difficult wind conditions the previous match and felt slightly more confident when it mattered. It was easy to see Garbiñe consistently playing a bit too long and her face was transparent, she couldn´t really explain why she was missing those shots, I think the wind had a lot to do with it. Still, I think she needs to get one of these her way in order to overcome the fear of losing a match this important. The mental strength and resilience we have seen from her recently all but vanished today, so she needs to conquer that last stage. I am sure she will if she continues working like this.

    • @nt4081
      @nt4081 3 роки тому +1

      Do not blame it on the windy conditions. The head to head was already 4-1 Petra. Let that sink in. Furthermore, Mugu had a chance to go out and practice with the wind yesterday. Petra had to play a more competitive match against Jessica Pegulia , she could have used a day of rest, but had to show up to play again the next day. You Spaniards are unreal with not properly giving credit to the winner . Even if Mugu played a semi-final yesterday, who is to say she would have beat Vicka.

      Agreed. That is not the ideal substance of a top player.

    I thought Garbi was going to take this tournament but I'm happy for Petra! 2 years is a long time without a title!

    Muguruza seems exhausted and hopeless like ok, i am done. Kvitova is like I need a title at least this time!

    Petra Kvitova es una gran jugadora y bastante completa, su problema es que a veces pierde confianza en su juego, pero esta vez no fue así... jugó en un excelente nivel durante todo el partido...Por otra parte Muguruza que había estado jugando bastante bien en sus partidos previos , se vio bastante errática en esta final, muchos errores no forzados. Me gustan ambas jugadoras pero la victoria de Petra es totalmente merecida

    Kvitova played brilliantly, Muguruza didn’t. That about sums it up. Garbiñe will be back. She’s played tremendously so far this year. She’s one of my top three players but I have to give Petra kudos first a nearly flawless match.

    Maybe both players were tired - that was a pretty patchy match and Petra held her nerve better especially in the first set to just let Mugu spray the balls, highlight really doesnt show the extent of that lol....I am always happy watching Petra win consider the absolutely horrible things happened to her body and spirit from a few years ago, I am always super amazed how she can play at this level when the freaking robber sliced open her dominant hand completely and severed the nerves

    Looking at the score it seems they had to use all points won by Muguruza in these highlights, it almost looked like she actually won.
    Jokes aside, it's not a shame to lose against Petra, when she's on. Petra is a bit like Stan Wawrinka. Both occasionally unbeatable, but you never know when that's gonna be.

    Oh Petra, please bring this form to Grand Slam. Don't be Pliskova or Svitolina who could only win Premier or Premier Mandatory before ousted in Week 1 of GS. You have what it takes to win more beyond your 2 Wimbledon.

    Kvitova played really well but Garbi played her worst match of the year, I was expecting a really good match but it was very one sided
