Tryambakam (Odissi) by Sutra Foundation - Rentak Bumi

- Опубліковано 5 лис 2021
- Tryambakam, (Odissi) is an invocatory homage to Siva, the triple-eyed Lord, Nourisher and Liberator of souls from the bondage of pull of opposites. Thus, He is depicted as half man, half woman. He is Lord of the Dance, dancing the world into being.
Tryambakam depicts His vigorous cosmic Tandav dance, swaying and dancing to the thunderous beats of his drum as he celebrates his triumphant victory over the Triple Worlds of the demons.
The Sabda, characteristic of the Debaprasad style of Odissi, awakens the dancer and the audience of Siva’s presence.
Sutra Foundation, a bastion of traditional and contemporary arts bequeathed to Malaysia by Datuk Ramli Ibrahim, was established as a full-fledged Foundation in 2007. Sutra Foundation has been vital in sustaining Sutra’s activities when the arts face challenging times. It continues to provide Malaysia with activities in the performing arts (Sutra Dance Theatre), exhibitions (Sutra Gallery & KamaRia Gallery) and teaching (Sutra Academy). Immense care goes into crafting a Sutra Production - be it in terms of impeccable design input, selection of dance talent, devising sets, costumes, lighting or graphics and marrying them to the conceptual and choreographic intent to assure a flawless production. Sutra Foundation is guided by its Board of Trustees.

Ramli Ibrahim from Malaysia! A great dance master! A Muslim performing Lord Shiva's Thryambagam dance! Salutations!
Before Muslims their ancestors were the Lord Shiva devotee.
Ramli Ibrahim 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
A Muslim man from Malaysia who studied engineering from Australia and started with Ballet and went on to become an exponent of Odisii(an inherently) an Indian dance form(which pays obeisance to Hindu divinity) ...
Where do I start my admiration for this man
He is an example 🙏🙏
Ramli Ibrahim is a jewel of Malaysia who learned the Indian classical dance out of interest and a spectacular performer. He is almost 68years old with non-aging body and an humble artist.
What? 68? Respect!! 🙏
My girl studying at Sutra Dance Academy and Master Ramli not 68 he is 71yrs old, always amazed with his energy.
" non aging " don't push it...
When Nature dances.
Oh …. I have heard about his person .
Wow! I've never seen videos of men performing this style of dance, just women. I'm grateful to the UA-cam algorithm for expanding my horizons. Om namah Shivaya 🕉🕉🕉
Om...
So good to see a Malaysian going back to his roots. How wonderful it would be if the Malays reverted back to their dharmic roots
"going back". Malays do not all share the same history. Sad to see another stupid Indian commenting this nonsense without understanding the complex history of South East Asia
Arts has no race, religion or caste. Its universal
Super om na ma siva ya namaga
I accidentally found this clip. I've never traveled to Malaysia before. It was very admiring to see such beautiful dancing.
Part of what's amazing to me is that one of the oldest cultures in the world is still able to maintain such a rich Heritage of its Origins. Dance and music and traditions. In today's world the way things change and the way that people tend to forget so much of the past in favor of something new. I for one love to study history and cultures. If I had my way I would teach history until the day I drop dead. I mean look at America with the way the Republicans are changing everything right now there now some states where you can't talk even talk as a teacher about anything to do with race or anything else is uncomfortable to some people. For instance in a couple States I'm not even sure people are going to be allowed to talk about the entire 1800's now because of the issue of slavery and the results of it so talkin about what leading up to the Civil War the Civil War and reconstruction in the Civil Rights Movement I'm not even sure we're going to be allowed to teach that anymore. And then you look at India in India does have its problems too but they can maintain this kind of tradition I find it amazing and encouraging. Course I've always had a bit of a Fascination for Indian history, religion, and cultures. I even have a big thing for watching a lot of Bollywood movies LOL. So I do get to know you don't see some dance and some music even though it's been probably made a little flashier too because it's on screen. This is a superb video. You usually only see female dancers I enjoy this a lot
Sir,
U are an Indian by soul.🙂
Do visit our ancient land..Mother India would embrace u too with her open arms.
🙂🙏 Love and regards from India🇮🇳
Brilliant write up👌👌🙏🏻
Love your observations. It's sad that we are forced to being careful about studying or commenting on culture, tradition and history nowadays because some past events were unpalatable. But these are the facts and we must accept the truth. Cheers!
What a brilliant observation!
I Recommend You Check Out Some Japanese BUTOH Influenced Dance by SANKAI JUKU! They're rather Indescribable and I Have Loved This Group Since I First Saw Them in NYC In 1985!
A most powerful performance diluted by an over enthusiastic camera man who moved more than the dancers did. Wish I could see this performance as a stationary audience.
I would have preferred live myself. 2D flatters out the impact. Sitting live is a Spiritual feel. Silent powerful communication vn live.
Vs impressed 👌. SO much of effort: visible.
Sounds of nature, the dress:costume:
The central dancer seems to be a senior individual perhaps the choreographer!
Very well done. The revolving together was SO fluid: I thought they vr on a turning disc.
The music, rhythms vr an original too: an effective experiment :
My compliments. Proud of u
Jai ho!
For real
Being an Odia, I feel proud & delighted of my culture. Such a culturally rich state was firstly ruined by Emperor Ashoka on attacking Kalinga, then by the Nawabs of Hyderabad, Bengal & Delhi Sultanate and finally by the Britishers. The state has bounced back under the able leadership of Sri Biju Pattanayak & Navin Pattanayak backed by the blessings of Lord. Jagannath & honesty, sincerity of Odia people.
Kalinga-Utkal-Odisha has come up again to be the most attractive part India.
Bande Utkal Janani...... Bande Maataram.... Jay Hind......... Jay Jagannath...... 🌻🔱🌻
WOW. what a presentation. I am a sishumandir student odiya medium and proud to be born in odisha.
It's respectable that still in India many dance forms are practised & performed in a well mannered. Keep it up.
A dance is not merely a technical presentation of foot work or speed of the hand movements alone...it needs grace, dedication, devotion and the love for the divine. What we see here is sheer light of Shiva dancing in the shadow of space! Simplicity, ecstacy and spellbound.....the Soul rejuvenates. There is a profound grace of silence in this beautiful choreography! Thank you Sir.
Absolutely agree with you 👌🙏🏻
Yes. 👍
🙏🙏🙏
Absolute gem Premji...no one could have said better! 🙏🙏
Good
This person should be awarded by Indian GOVT with Padma award if not done already..great effort and commitment..hats off..🙏
He is a Padma Shri!
One thing I did not understand- everytime they made a formation, camera moved sideways. This was meant to be seen from bang in front - so we got the impression of multiple hands and heads of Shiva. But because the camera moved to the side, it couldn’t be seen. Otherwise the dance is beautiful. But camera was frustrating.
I was thinking the same!
Keen technical observation. I was frustrated too.
Totally agree
Yes I was frustrated about the camera angle and the choppy editing 😢
Men can be just as beautiful and graceful as women. Very beautiful!!!!
Our Ramli Ibrahim,a true Malaysian, you make us proud by saying We are Malaysians, A great showcase to world....

In the west we often attribute grace to femininity. But they are so graceful and 100% masculine. The poise, the facial expressions, the eye gaze, their balance- beautiful!❤ 🇺🇸
Love every bit of it. In a world of female dancers it’s so refreshing to see, such masculine expression of this beautiful and divine art form. Beautifully captured and presented.
Is divine
Beautiful.all aspect were excellent.soo soothing.experiancing the presence of the Supreme Lord himself.very emotional
well said.
Its the mother of all social arts.
Femininity is a part of every art.
This is what I called the art of body movement , the true meaning of dance , I salute my gurus from bottom of my heart, I am proud to be a trained odissi dancer , one of the oldest dance form of India 🙏. Trust me this divine aura gave me goosebumps .
У меня тоже мурашки по коже.
I am an old Canadian broad who can't dance any more due to a chronic condition in my legs. And boy, do I envy you! You are continuing a beautiful cultural tradition for your people, while fulfilling what I think is a genuine religious calling.
I'm half Viking and half Pict. Um...my traditional culture and calling involves a lot of beer swilling, monastery rampaging, pillaging, walloping people over the head and stealing their sheep....drinking whisky a lot....attacking Romans, because let's face it, they have it coming. Um...attacking harbor towns, setting them on fire.
Sigh. And keeping the axes, swords and knives clean. Because nobody likes a messy scabbard.
On the whole, your dance tradition is much friendlier.
@@SandraNelson063 Thank you 😊, this is tradition and culture of India . We respect your culture too 🙏🏻
@@SandraNelson063 I'm also an odissi dancer learning it for 10 years
I've never seen men perform this type of dance before.
Om swastiastu from Bali. We have Siwa Nataraja dance in Bali. Thank you for this video 🙏🏽
Imagine a 17th century European male on his world tour seeing this for the first time! What level of conflict mixed with awe would he have felt?
That's why they were so strong in their opinions to differentiate genders in India giving boundaries what a man and what a woman should do.
No hate but they indeed got Culture Shocks
@@mimis.5139 You reminded me of the video by India in pixels, by any chance have you seen that too?
Probably would have called them gay and moved on
I cannot beleive how lucky we are as Bharatiya. Superb performance. Rich culture. We should save and promote. Sadhubaad..
Beautiful. Our culture is great, long live India, god bless India
No other culture can be so colorful, meaningful, and beyond space like Sanatana Dharma culture!
All cultures are unique in their own ways.
It's not sanadana vedic barbarian nomadic culture moron.its pure hindu culture. You don't have any culture. Go to afghanistan north and azerbaijan.
@@velu1671 Eh what.... You don't have any right to talk about sanathana dharma, Sir. Vel muruga.... Vetri Vel Veera Vel 😂😂😂
@@velu1671 why don't you move to kumari kandam 😂😂😂....sanathana dharma is HINDUISM.... you moron davidias😂😂😂
Thats not true....all cultures have beauty and meaning...while we rejoice in our glory lets not be consumed by the evil of pride that comes from discrimination. Shiva alone is dancing then how can you say He is not present in other cultures?? Isnt that contradictory??
Syabas Ramli Ibrahim... and team..
🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍💓💓💓💐💐💐
I could rave on and on, but there are really no words for this divine expression. Pure love and pure light.
Om Namah Shivaya

Muslim person in birth, Ramli Ibrahim from my hood town Kajang. Perfectly understood barthanatyam dance more, than Hindu.valga Uno pugal 🙏🏽
but this is oddisi not bharathnatyam
Arts has no boundaries, please don't mix religion.
Still each and every Indian traditional art forms are not created by ani muslims, because Indian art forms are more older than Abrahamic religions 😏, do not play your religious victim card here🙏🏻😇🕉️🇮🇳
@@chanak89 yes no boundaries and no religious beliefs in art.
Om Swastiastu, the Malay & the rest of its archipelago ,Javanese & Balinese were agama Siwa Buddha they were Hindu in the past by birth & the future yo come Look at Kedah Bujang Valley ,the truth is revealed.Om namah Shivaya🙏🕉
This is exactly why Datuk Ramli Ibrahim is a national treasure. Loved every aspect of this performance!
This is beautiful, I had no idea that Odissi was being practised in Malaysia…how wonderful ! While I love all the Indian dance forms , I find Odissi the most fluid and mesmerising..
Most dance forms are practiced in Malaysia, they just aren't mainstream.
Thankyou
The state of Odisha was earlier known as Kalinga, a most powerful state in ancient India, having maritime relationship with South East Asia specially with Malaysia & Indonesia. So culturally the both lands are connected, now it's being revived again.
It’s been almost 30 years since I left the magical world of dance... getting this video suggestion on UA-cam was sheer divine intervention. I was transported back to my teenage years when I first met Ramli Sir and wanted so much to be eternally immersed in this world of divine energy and grace. Time had other plans for me. Now I feel reconnected, almost as if I never left. Thank you for this blissful jolt. Om Namah Shivaya🙏🏼
Why did you leave?
You must start again.
Masculine and feminine are not depends on sex indeed it's depends on gender. Moreover expression of presence and behaviour. Scintillating performance...lots of respect.
Whatever one perceive is feminine.
@@harishkiran3663 so this dance is feminine?

Wow......what a masterpiece .......Very true....Dance must be a way to moksha..........
Great.....Har Har Mahadev.....
This might easily be the most beautiful thing I've seen in my life. Each of the dancers added their own flavour to the dance while staying in perfect harmony to one another. Mesmerizing!
Nice Nritya....Natya....Of Lord Shiva...Thank u for this show....
Thank u troupe...
Wow!!! Can't want to watch your next performance live.
Amazing...!!!!! Beautiful....!!! Superb....!!!
I don't have a single word to describe what i just saw.. Camera, light, dancers, choreography... Everything just came together and glittered my eyes 🙏.
As an Odia, so nice to see even proper Odia sound of the shloka
What's so compelling about Hindus is their fevered story-telling. I may not know the story, but they're telling story after story in their dance, in every gesture, the music.
Senior most teacher.,Shiva s blessing
Watched it with awe... bow down to your dedication, Lord Shiva or NATARAJA is the GURUDEV or KING of Dance forms and seeing all male dancers has re-instated that art is not all lost in the world of material gratification and especially in our male counterparts.
The evolution of the art forms through Sadhana was towards unification with the Divine. All our arts imbibed the rich cultural heritage and conveyed the Scriptural knowledge to the elite and masses... these art forms should be taught to preserve our pride in our culture and heritage of the oldest surviving, highly evolved Civilization of the world.
Wow. I found grace and submissiveness to lord here.
Samskritham ..pure recitation..superior craftsmanship of editing with lights
Nice !!!!!!!!
You credited all the people who filmed and produced it but didn't name the dancing guys. Nice video, me and my boyfriend are watching it at 1:25 a.m. in Humboldt County, California, why don't you tell those guys that. I am sure when they were being filmed doing this they were not imagining people in California watching it at 1:25 a.m. or it becoming very popular in Russia (see other people's comments.)
Thak you sir.hare krishna🙏🙏🙏

Amazing. Even my grandpa was an old dancer still don’t have that kind of grace and flexibility. Ramli Ibrahim is the true jewel. His graceful form and flexibility is so natural, no one can copy even after years of practice.
