I am so drawn to black and white, grey tones etc paintings this one really hit home with me. I could also see it with a ship just barely breaking thru a fog .. hmmm may have to try that 😊
Loved it. I want to do a lot of black and white until I have more experience. Plus I've always thought black and white is just classy. Beautiful and you are easy to follow.
I am glad to see that you are back, I have missed you. You did a awesome painting. I will try this one in a few days. Thank you for all your wonderful paintings.
Love your style. You are sooooo chilled!! I'm more like your mate the angry artist except I drink coffee and not beer, but I so get how he feels not being too sure and letting you do the painting for him. I have watched lots of your youtubes and I am building up my confidence again. My worst enemy is myself. You know how you said talk to yourself try yelling at yourself when you stuff something up royally !!!! Lyn
You did a great job with the tree and the color blending, wow! The tree looks gloomy, sad, and lonely. Not you're usual subject matter or colors. What was your inspiration for this piece Ian?
The only thing I think it was missing were some more highlights on the tree to really build the layering up. Think of how you did the froth in the waves, but vertical. Since the tree was the main feature, that little touch would have made a huge difference when it came to the "pop" factor.
Beautiful, similar to my life, a tree named weeping willow. Ok, beautifully thank you, you are my teacher and a great artist, he will try to paint, I love your work. Best wishes .,:).
I noticed all of your other paintings are gone. Your studio looks empty now save for your awesome abstract self portrait. I miss the golden zebra. Did you sell it?

16:40 The froth of the waves. The details that people often miss.
