Don't know where to start. Thank you so much for uploading this! I was at this show, though I'm having problems picking me out 20+ years later. Somewhere in my basement is a soundboard recording of this, as well as an interview that my roommate and I did with Karl in the back of my '85 Nissan Sentra before the show (Karl's idea, not mine). He signed my copies of Destroy the Machines and Gomorrah's Season Ends, both of which I still have. Broke my nose in the pit when a dude with a Quicksand shirt landed on me. I will remember this night to my dying day. Seriously, thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this!!!
@@thexyouth I apologize for not seeing this until now. Let me do some digging in my basement and I'll send you a PM. Are you on Insta? I have the same screen name there. 🤘
I love Earth Crisis, and watching this brings back so many good memories of being in a pit and having a blast and only worried about losing my keys w/o anyone around me looking at cell phones.
Really miss the Tune Inn. Saw a ton of bands there, and I may yet have a flyer from one of EC's shows there. If I can dig it up I'll send you a PM if you'd like a scan of it. EDIT: Found that flyer if you're interested.
I remember this show like it was yesterday. This was in support of the release of Gomorrah's Season Ends I believe. Karl did a flip off the speaker at the end of Firestorm. The Sports Palace in New Britain! This was the hub of all the CT hardcore shows in 1996. Jamey from Hatebreed used to put on these shows. It's a shame that shows like these, with a tight local community spirit don't really exist anymore.
Karl did indeed flip off of the speaker tower that night. I bumped into Jamey before the show and asked if I could record it. I was content to use my tape recorder, but he told me to go give my tape to the guy at the soundboard; so somewhere in my basement is a pretty good audio recording of this show. I really should dig that out and have it transferred to CD and MP3.
Man this looks so familiar.. I'm pretty sure this was the one time and only time I was able to catch Earth Crisis back in the day.. Everyone was flipping off the speakers.. People were going mental.. Cleveland, Milwaukee, Chicago.. hell the whole f'in midwest scene was in the house for this... Everyone who was anyone.. was here.. This is peak 90's EC.. Take it in kids..
This was probably their height of popularity but I started to get bored with them by this time. I loved seeing them in 93/94…but the later it got the worse it got.
Thats a HC show!!! Stagediving , floorpunching ,singalong ,basketball jerseys..... and no cellphones.
Holy shit that sommersault at 4:02
