      @@ABC-li4he The gentleman mentioned there were other patrons in her vicinity yet he, as the only black man, was accused. Whether that initial accusation occurred inside the store is irrelevant. Being racially profiled is a feasible interpretation this gentleman could have to her accusation. Saying it’s equivalent, as bad, of being falsely accused of theft with the potential danger of a police encounter is unacceptable.

    • @startingQB
      @startingQB 3 роки тому +4

      @@ABC-li4he "people are quick to ruin someone's life..." you mean like accusing someone of a crime they didn't commit, without any evidence, and then calling the police on said person? And police with a history of aggressive policing tactics arrive, escalate the situation which ends in the falsely accused being arrested for something unrelated like "resisting arrest" or worse, killed.
      Yeah that *IS* a really bad thing to do.

    • @phillipcarter5681
      @phillipcarter5681 3 роки тому +4

      @@ABC-li4he Publicly shaming someone for behaving the way this woman did is not equivalent to her falsely accusing the man of theft. They are not equivalent in a legal context nor a moral one. It is not unfair to label her as prejudiced or racist, because her actions demonstrate those sentiments. You don't just go up to a random guy and accuse him of stealing without evidence unless there is something subconscious happening in your brain. The only real defense of her is that she is willfully stupid to not know that find my phone does not pinpoint an exact location, and that that stupidity led her to erroneously accuse the man rather than take the obvious first action of retracing their steps or looking in their own car. But, frankly, that's not much better. He should, and I assume will, sue her for the potential endangerment that she subjected him to.

    • @phillipcarter5681
      @phillipcarter5681 3 роки тому +4

      @@ABC-li4he Also, publicly shaming someone is not "ruining their life" as you claim. Unless they have committed a crime, they will not have a record, and the public eye will be off of them relatively quickly because this shit happens every day. She was attempting to ruin the man's life by calling the police on him when she had absolutely zero evidence of his guilt.

    Notice the Walmart employee was trying to take issue with this gentleman recording. He states it’s for his protection. The Walmart employee says he’s not in any danger not understanding without video evidence he could be accused of other false actions by this Karen. I still can't agree with the Turks on this, rare situation that I can't (usually I love their stuff).
      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citizen%27s_arrest
      I don't think it's illegal to detain a theft suspect, and I'm sure those charges were dropped if the woman intended to fight them.... At the end of the day, she said that her phone mysteriously was found at the front desk with no explanation as to where it had come from--
      Phone thieves are the worst. I'd put theft of a mobile phone right up there next to grievous intentional bodily injury. What a traumatic experience to, for example, lose all of your personal photos of your only child's first day on earth only a day after his birth, or the primary device with photos of your former wife after being very recently widowed. But we know that people in the US have no qualms about stealing phones. And it could be worse: what if there were some info on the phone that were a matter of life and death? Anyway, the point is, if you felt very strongly that a person had committed a murder, you wouldn't not detain the person because 'oh he's fourteen' or 'oh he's black'. Who cares? If he was the only person who could have done it, what's wrong with asking if there's blood on his hands?
      Also, the fact that he was offended because he's black? He brought up the race card. That sounds like a guilty person to me. If he had said: "I'll stay here and help you look around, but I didn't steal it," or something along those lines, maybe I'd be less skeptical. What a terrible culture to exercise your rights and delay a person the peace of mind of a lost item. Maybe she has a mental handicap, and we should consider it an act of hatred against a handicapped person with a poor memory? Why do we have to view everything through the lens of race? It doesn't make sense. Nobody cares about your age or your skin tone, kid. You're a garbage person who is putting his 'rights' above an elderly woman's peace of mind--where is your chivalry. When you put yourself first in any way shape or form at the expense of making others feel bad, you put yourself in a position where you're not above suspicion. So, I don't blame her for suspecting you. If she didn't know how to phrase it, that's not my problem. She was right to not put you above suspicion.

      @@frankdesbaux Yes, if someone's racist, they're too ignorant and hate filled to be a real parent. Such people have no place raising children. So the child should be taken away from this monster and give to a loving family that will be real parents to them.
      Being a biological donor to a child doesn't make you a parent. There's lots of people out there who have kids who have absolutely zero business being "parents". And many of them are not. They're simply larger humans who (usually) feed and clothe smaller ones.

My mom was like that, and I can tell you out of experience, screaming at your kid for stuff that doesn't deserve a scream can traumatize them.
