Dear Matty, although you’ve never met (and never likely to) all those who follow your channel, it is YOUR health and happiness that we care about most. Being a survivor, you know better than most the value of enjoying life’s every moment. I am immensely grateful for what you have shared, and eagerly await what you might share in the future. But not at the expense of your health AND happiness. Stay safe. Stay healthy. Stay HAPPY.
Great sentiment Allen…. And that speaks for all of Matty’s UA-cam mates 👍 Well said. The truth is, that mates don’t bail eh? 🇦🇺 We’re with you Matty… weekly video… or one per year 🤣🤣🤣 Robert PS Keep Punchin’ mate
Hey Cobber , I am a Tool maker of 40yrs now workshop manager last 10yrs. With my hand on my heart I can say if you are self taught you rock . You have skills better than some of the knobs I have seen pass through my workshop . Love watching you make stuff with bugger all. You my friend are the real deal. You and that piss funny bloke from Swan Valley Machine shop, Max .
Gday, Thanks for your kind words mate, Im truly only self taught and learnt by just having a go and asking question, every mistake is a learning curve i've found, Thanks for watching, Cheers
Well done Matty , we are more than happy to enjoy whatever videos you produce. It is not uncommon for producers of videos to find themselves in the position you did and good on you for recognising it. The dog wags the tail not the other way around. Like many others I have learnt much from you which has helped develop my self taught skills as well. Take care and all the best.
Gday, Its great too hear the videos have been helpful and I didn't realise how many people have learnt from what I do until I started getting all the messages over the past few months, The break away from the camera was what I needed mate thats for sure, Thanks for watching and commenting, Cheers
Matty! So glad to see you again. I am very happy you are looking after yourself, and while I am always happy to watch what you share...you take care of yourself first! Thank you again!
Matty, It's so good to see you back. You put a big smile on my mug when I noticed you had dropped a new vid. I think I speak for all when I say we are more than happy to see you back in the machine shop. I could see how it would get old doing all the prep for a video. Thanks for doing it for us. If its one a month we are more then happy with that. It's just good to see you again mate. You do you and stay happy. Mike
Thank you, Matty. At first, I thought, "What would you use that for? You've got a Tailstock!" Then you both explained, and demonstrated it, now I know. Take it easy Fella, as and when you feel like posting, we'll be here.
Lovely job Matty. Shop made tools are always a favourite to watch. Pace yourself putting out content, there's zero to gain by burning out trying to meet deadlines. 99.99% of your subscribers will welcome a video whenever you are in the mood to publish one. Cheers mate
Greetings from Idaho USA Matty. Stay healthy my friend. We love your videos in the states too. I occasionally rewatch them for ideas in my own shop. Thank you.
Good to see you Matty, totally understand the time and stress commitment for regular videos. It’s good to take a break. Nice project, turned out awesome 👍👍
Thank you for giving us an update. I had prayed that the cancer had not returned. Understand completely taking a break. You take care of you and your family. Thanks for sharing.
Great to see you back Matty👍👍😉😉 It's not a job, just do things as and when you feel like it. enjoyed the build see you when ever, no pressure best wishes Kev (UK)
Good to see you're oké and well done on taking some time off. When a hobby starts to feel like a job, it's time to move on. Keep on machining and when you feel like it, share it with us, we'll be waiting.
Nice to see you back in your workshop Matty. I fully understand and agree with everything you said. I do enjoy making videos for UA-cam, but find it difficult to film and machine parts at the same time. You do need to put your health first Matty. Just enjoying yourself in the workshop without the pressure making a video is fine. Make a UA-cam video whenever you feel like it. Take care Matty. Kind regards to you and your family. ATB Nobby
We've been spoiled with the quality and quantity of videos in the past .... BUT .. it turned your hobby into a full time Job ... and that sucks! If Monthly videos are what we get, that would be awesome! I truly appreciate your self taught ways .. I learn more watching and listening to you figure things out with us than I do a "Professional" machinist just telling us "this is how it's done". Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦
Gday Paul, I try to explain things in a way I can understand and try to keep it as simple as possible, Theres always many ways to do a job and sometimes I do it the hard way but thats the way it goes, Truly appreciate you watching and commenting mate, Cheers
G'day Matty mate and welcome back my dear friend, as good as it is to see you every week, it's far more important that you're happy with it all ❤ there are thousands of us watching along and we all support you, looking forward to watching this one, I've a mt3 holder for mine and it's a great bit of kit, game changing to be fair, no doubt you'll piss it mate, have a great one, lots of love to you and yours Ralfy
Gday Ralfy, Taking a decent break away from the camera was a brilliant thing in many ways, as you know my background you can understand the ways, I was surprised how well the lathe handled it to be honest, Truly appreciate you watching and commenting mate, Cheers
Nice work on that internal taper! I made a small toolpost chuck holder for drilling really deep 10mm holes under power feed, but I like the idea of shifting a lot of material with my 1.25 and 1.5 inch MT3 drills instead of opening up the holes with boring bars. I recently took six months off from UA-cam to catch up with life. We'll still be here when you're ready to do another project vid. Take your time, enjoy life and if YT gets to be a chore, take it slow for a while.
Great to see you Matty. Nice machining and excellent video quality. Works really well as intended. I thought you were superman knocking all those videos out. A video in your own time is more relaxing than working to deadlines, that's becomes a chore. It's the way I work. Good to hear your putting your life before YT. Cheers Tony
Am I ever pleased to see you Matty, when you didn't show up on my search I feared the worst having lost two of my oldest friends in the last week you can see what I meant. I,m 80 years old and my mates are dropping like flys. A very good video old friend PLEASE dont keep us all waiting too long for the next, Best regards Ken in the UK
Gday Ken, thankfully the cancer hasn’t come back yet, not sure when the next video will be out but hopefully not to far away, thanks for watching mate, cheers
Good to see you back Matty, just do what you want, or need to do, family comes first. Excellent addition to the shop, maybe some straight bore holder next? Just a suggestion, maybe add a jacking screw to push the drill/chuck out, saves hammering on the lathe. Those "Jennys" callipers, have a few name's, Hermaphrodite calipers or Oddlegs. Take care, and all the best.
Welcome back, I was getting withdrawal symptoms thinking that something bad had happened as I did not see the post that you mentioned. However it’s great to see you back and in good health. Looking forward to your next video whenever it will be that’s fine your health is more important THANK YOU.
I have really missed your videos but I completely understand it. I don’t know how you’ve kept it up producing such high quality content every week - it burns me out pretty quickly. Good for you for doing it on your terms. As for the tool holder - top quality job as always. Love your attention to detail. Cheers and all the best!
Gday Stuart, it certainly hasn't been easy keeping up a video each week over the past year or so thats for sure, Truly appreciate you watching and commenting mate, Cheers
G'day Matty. Great to see you in the shop, & as usual getting a piece of stock, & turning it into a very nice looking piece of art, which works so well. I can see the 100% advantage of drilling & using the saddle feed & speed for drilling. Well done. We will see you again when you feel you have the time. Don't stress, just take everything one day at a time at your pace. Ted
Impressive result. I was sure the toolpost would rotate with those big drills, but it loved it! Thanks so much for another education video. It’s getting harder and harder to find no BS, practical machining videos, so I appreciate the time you put into it.
It is good to see you back my friend. The No. 3 morse taper holder is very good, and works fantastically. Yes, having coolant would help with the machining. We are appreciative of the time you spend doing the videos, I'm sure we want to see you enjoying your posts so as you said, as and when. See you next time Matty and regards to you and family 👍
Welcome back Matty. That's a great accessory to add to my ever growing list! It's not the same without a weekly matty video, but CEE and now HAL are keeping me entertained. Look after yourself.👍
Matty great to see you back. Nice job on the new tool holder. Glad you are healthy. Take care of yourself & we will see you when you feel like it. Until then Cheers!
Thank you for the update Marty. I’m glad the cancer hasn’t came back. And your video for the more taper is super cool. I can’t believe that you went to an inch and three-quarter drillbit but seem to handle it very well. Awesome video thank you very much.
Good to see you back again. I always enjoyed your style of presentation and missed it each week.I get what you feel about the effort required to make the videos. I managed less than 6 months before life took over and I couldn't find the time for the editing. Didn't help that I filmed too much and was crap at it mind! Glad it wasn't the big C keeping you off youtube. I've only half your issues... the non Hodgkins bit. So all the best and thanks for the video.
Welcome back Matty, we've all missed your awesomeness. They were some beautiful finishes you were getting with that Flycutter. When I built my Mill, I was forced to drill the hole in the spindle like that, but with the drill clamped in a tool holder, it was the only way I could get the travel I needed, but it worked out just fine. I think after a while, trying to come up with new projects all the time to get a video per week out is one of the biggest problems. Work at a speed you are comfortable with, none of us are getting any younger and we'll all enjoy your videos if and when you make one. 👍
Gday Paul, The fly cutter never really fails on getting a beautiful finish, coming up with different build ideas is a problem and trying to keep them at a decent cost is another, price of material now is out of control especially around my area, Truly appreciate all your support mate, Cheers
Glad to see you back mate, remember your health and your family are much more important than our entertainment. I look forward to seeing your future posts.
matty, I was so happy to see a video from you, hope that you have been well, I have learned so much from you about tool setups and fixturing parts from you and for that i say thank you and cheers from GA. USA.
Thanks mate…I always enjoy your videos… glad you have decided that you and your family come first..you only get one chop at this world and you have to you. All the best till next time
Good to see you Matty, the MT3 toolpost holder looks great and works well. Job done! I hope the break from YT helped you mate. You do what is right for YOU. No one else matters at all, we your faithful viewers will wait and watch whatever you decide to upload. Hopefully you will feel that you can do a regular weekly gig in time. As you said the last 18 months have been bloody hard for you, and all that time you were fighting the dreaded C word and giving us a weekly video, and for that Matty in my eyes you're a fucking HERO. So take whatever time you need to do videos and put them out to your timetable, not UA-cam's we will lap up whatever you give us. Greetings to your missus and family mate. Cheers from sad old England. Sam
Gday Sam, Thanks for your kind words and support, The past 18 months really took its toll but in saying that i'm glad I did it to keep myself busy, Take care mate, Cheers
Good job Matty. If you drill a hole in the blind end you will be ready for the day when you put something in it that doesn't have a tang. Glad you are back on deck.
Hi Matty, welcome back. If you make a video a month then so be it, rather you were in a good place than feeling pressured to produce videos for us. You have a strong following [even in the UK], so keep to your own schedule, you know we will be here.
Glad to see you back I can't even imagine how much work goes into these videos I just wanted you to know that iv learned a lot from you and really appreciate the work you do
Fair play mate, glad to see you back mate. I started a channel a couple of years ago and found weekly was just a bit much, I do videos as and when and find it more enjoyable. You look after you mate, we'll still be here.
Hi Matty & welcome back. I know what you are saying as I have been lax lately. Old age & other comitments sometimes take over. Take care & see you on the next one. P.s brilliant build Sir. Steve.
I am so happy to see you again! I was worried that something happened to you! When ever you post a video I am always ready to watch! Good health and have fun!
G’day mate. Glad you have found something outside of YT that is keeping you good. It’s working mate, you look the best you have for a long time. Thanks for your time and the video. Take care 👍🇦🇺
Matty, good to hear all’s well. Thanks for the update and great video… your skills are a great source of motivation and education for other guys, like me, who are not “qualified” machinists… Google autodidact... I suspect many of your followers are such. FYI, The finish on the MT 3 holder is wonderful, that fly cutter does great work. Take time for a breather, I think I speak for all whom appreciate your efforts to show us how it can be done, simply, and based upon a learned approach to this chosen discipline. We look forward to future videos, but at your leisure. Best!
Gday Steve, Thank you for the positive feedback, ive learnt by just having a go and if it doesn't work out then try again, The fly cutter would be one of the best tools ive made I think, simple and it works, Appreciate you watching and commenting, Cheers
Nice job. It's great to be able to use the power feed when drilling larger holes. Another 'some day' tool on my list. Good to spend some time in the shop without filming, just do as you feel inclined to do and enjoy what you do.
Lovely to see you in the shop again Matty & quite unexpected. Enjoyed this build also. Saw more tools I’d love to own (sine bar, & MT reamers). Just do what you can when you can, no pressure from anyone including me. 👍👍👍🇦🇺
Nice build, certainly understand the YT exhaustion….my main reason that I still sometimes produce a video is the contact with many friends across the world….take care and enjoy
Matt I am just happy that you are okay I was a little concerned about you when you hadn’t posted for awhile, but your health physical and mental come first. I will be happy to watch any video you put out, whether it be one week or eight weeks apart.
young man, it's awesome to see you posting again, l was worried that you had gotten sick again, and had contacted karen and kurtis, to see if they knew how you were, karen replied you were fine, l didn't want to bug you. completely understand will be looking out for future releases. l have been through and l think l have watched every video you posted. keep on keeping on
Gday, It got to the stage I had to stop and get away from YT for a while, Im truly amazed how many messages Ive had over the past 3 months, Its a ton of worked involved in doing a video a week and sometimes I wonder how I did that for so long, Really appreciate you watching mate, Cheers
Matty - Welcome Back. Yes you needed a well deserved break . You were running between the Rain drops for a long time . But understand this - UA-cam helped you in a left handed way. You were so busy, you didn't have time to think about your cancer issues .That was good medicine. -- Jim
Nice to see you back Matty, that holder came out very nice. It'll be very useful, some DRO scales have an absolute position reference to allow storing tool offsets. It would save you the time centering the holder every time.
Excellent to see you back Matty, we've been missing you. But its most important to look after yourself and get back up to speed. I had a go at filming some little bits of machining myself and it turned out to be a right pain. Not sure if I can be bothered with it at all. Look after yourself first mate.
Gday Bill, theres a fair bit in making videos thats for sure, I certainly haven't missed sitting at the computers for hours this last few months, Thanks for watching mate, Cheers
Very well said Allan 👍
Spot on Allan I couldn't have said it better.
In my best Aussie. Good on yer mate.
Great sentiment Allen…. And that speaks for all of Matty’s UA-cam mates 👍
Well said.
The truth is, that mates don’t bail eh? 🇦🇺
We’re with you Matty… weekly video… or one per year 🤣🤣🤣

Hey Cobber , I am a Tool maker of 40yrs now workshop manager last 10yrs. With my hand on my heart I can say if you are self taught you rock . Gday, Thanks for your kind words mate, Im truly only self taught and learnt by just having a go and asking question, every mistake is a learning curve i've found, Thanks for watching, Cheers
Too right, brilliant self taught machinst.

Nice. Drilling big holes under power feed. That will be handy.
And indeed, producing one video a week is very demanding. Ask me how I know :)
Gday Rustinox, Its a ton of work as you well know mate, Thanks for watching, Cheers
Lovely job Matty. Shop made tools are always a favourite to watch. Pace yourself putting out content, there's zero to gain by burning out trying to meet deadlines. 99.99% of your subscribers will welcome a video whenever you are in the mood to publish one. Cheers mate

Thanks very much Gary, Truly appreciate all your support mate, Cheers
Happy to see you healing and appreciate the time devoted to this video. Will gladly wait for the next one.
Thanks mate, Cheers
Good job Matty. If you drill a hole in the blind end you will be ready for the day when you put something in it that doesn't have a tang. Glad you are back on deck.
Great idea mate, I’ll have a hole shortly, cheers
Hi Matty, welcome back. If you make a video a month then so be it, rather you were in a good place than feeling pressured to produce videos for us. You have a strong following [even in the UK], so keep to your own schedule, you know we will be here.
Thanks very much mate, cheers
Good to see ya, mate! Be good to yourself. Everyone else has already said what needs to be said, I'm just happy to be here.
Thanks mate, much appreciated
Nice work, as always. Good to see you back on YT. That big drill was a monster!

There's a youtuber that says If It's Not Fun You're Doing It Wrong. Don't let UA-cam efforts rule your life and emotions. Glad you are back.
Gday, It should be more enjoyable now hopefully mate, Thanks for watching, cheers
You keep the videos coming when you can Matty.. Stay safe and well Cheers John...
Thanks very much John, Appreciate you watching mate, Cheers
Fair play mate, glad to see you back mate. I started a channel a couple of years ago and found weekly was just a bit much, I do videos as and when and find it more enjoyable. You look after you mate, we'll still be here.
Thanks mate, cheers
Hi Matty & welcome back. I know what you are saying as I have been lax lately. Old age & other comitments sometimes take over. Take care & see you on the next one. P.s brilliant build Sir.
Steve.
Thanks very much Steve, Take care mate
I am so happy to see you again! I was worried that something happened to you! When ever you post a video I am always ready to watch! Good health and have fun!
Thanks mate, Appreciate you watching and commenting,
G’day mate. Glad you have found something outside of YT that is keeping you good. It’s working mate, you look the best you have for a long time. Thanks for your time and the video. Take care 👍🇦🇺
Gday Mark, Bit of a change in life has been fantastic, Appreciate you watching and commenting, Cheers
Matty, good to hear all’s well. Thanks for the update and great video… your skills are a great source of motivation and education for other guys, like me, who are not “qualified” machinists…
Google autodidact...
Another fine ‘shop-made’ tool Matty.
Bloody nice work.
If your mate starts selling the plans…, I’m in like Flynn
🤣
Robert
Gday Robert, hopefully Barry will make these plans available soon, Thanks for watching mate, Cheers
Hang in there, Matty. We're hooked on your tool builds, so we can't get enough. So glad to see you're back at it again. Cheers from the Space Coast.
Thanks mate, Cheers
Nice job. It's great to be able to use the power feed when drilling larger holes. Another 'some day' tool on my list. Good to spend some time in the shop without filming, just do as you feel inclined to do and enjoy what you do.
Gday Nigel, Ive really enjoyed not filming over the past few months, Truly appreciate you watching mate, Cheers
Welcome back! Missed ya buddy, but it's important that you look after you!! We'll be here whenever you get back 🙂

Lovely to see you in the shop again Matty & quite unexpected.
Enjoyed this build also.
Saw more tools I’d love to own (sine bar, & MT reamers).
Just do what you can when you can, no pressure from anyone including me. 👍👍👍🇦🇺

Gday Chuck, Its amazing how many mates you make around the world thats for sure, Appreciate you watching
Glad you are back. I was worried.
I can't anything meaningful that the others have already said. But I want to say thank you for the time in the shop. 😊

Matt I am just happy that you are okay I was a little concerned about you when you hadn’t posted for awhile, but your health physical and mental come first. I will be happy to watch any video you put out, whether it be one week or eight weeks apart.

young man,
it's awesome to see you posting again, l was worried that you had gotten sick again, and had contacted karen and kurtis, to see if they knew how you were, karen replied you were fine, l didn't want to bug you.
completely understand will be looking out for future releases.
l have been through and l think l have watched every video you posted.
keep on keeping on
Gday, It got to the stage I had to stop and get away from YT for a while, Im truly amazed how many messages Ive had over the past 3 months, Its a ton of worked involved in doing a video a week and sometimes I wonder how I did that for so long, Really appreciate you watching mate, Cheers
I do appreciate your work in producing these videos. Thanks 🇨🇦
Thanks very much mate Truly appreciated, Cheers
Matty - Welcome Back. Yes you needed a well deserved break . You were running between the Rain drops for a long time .
But understand this - UA-cam helped you in a left handed way. You were so busy, you didn't have time to think about your
cancer issues .That was good medicine. -- Jim
Gday Jim, YT was a massive help during the cancer but it all caught up in the end, Truly appreciate all your support mate, Cheers
Happy to see you back!
Nice to see you back Matty, that holder came out very nice. It'll be very useful, some DRO scales have an absolute position reference to allow storing tool offsets. It would save you the time centering the holder every time.
Gday, I have to work out how to drive the DRO a bit better and hopefully be able to store the position, Appreciate you watching, cheers
@@MattysWorkshop Watch Stefan's video on carriage drilling. He has some good ideas.
Very glad your back looking fit and well stay safe ok good luck
Thanks mate, Cheers
