- Here's the Master-Grade 1/100 scale Gelgoog Cannon [MSV Colors]. Packed with detail and sharp looks, but surprisingly kinda simple build. Love the look and can't wait to paint it!

Thanks for watching!
Found this review after buying the kit on P-Bandai, seems like I made a good call with that purchase! Can't wait to get my hands on this in September.
You did! It’s a fantastic kit!
@@ZakuAurelius glad to hear it!
Mine is also coming in September
I wish bandai would make a kit of the thunderbolt gelgoog
amen
I personally wish Bandai would have made more Thunderbolt kits, especially from season 2, like the Acguy, flying Gouf, Dahli, Aqua Guncannon, Z'Gok, Gog, Psychomu Zaku and so on.
Ya no kidding
Same with the thunderbolt Dom. Sometimes it feels like Bandi does the opposite of what the fans want.
I'm still waiting for it. almost 2019 now
I myself bought this today on US P-Bandai so I’m definitely watching this review
Great choice! Great kit! Now if only
Bandai would reissue the 1.0!
Yep definitely
I love my Gelgoog 2.0, one of my favorite master grades.
I got this kit cause I'm a Zeon suit fan. Sadly, if you kitbash it will run you around 60 - 100 bucks. If you can find this kit for around 100 bucks and don't want to wait for the reprint I suggest you get it because it has the updated Gelgoog Cannon Head.
yep, that about sums it up!
I really like this Baby-Bluegoog.
I gotta though say the old cannon parts look quite bad here, their details are weak by comparison and they just don't look like they belong on this kit.
I don't think they look TOO bad, but yeah they are a little disappointing in comparison
The kit really is getting rare - luckily I found and got this for less than the yen price converted to my local currency.
are you saying i could use all of the cannon parts from the original gelgoog cannon and they'd fit onto a 2.0 kit? I may just do that...
I got mine pre-ordered for October and got lucky cause a few hours later they ran out of pre-orders I barely got back to gunpla about 8 months ago so ifk if they've re-released since
A great-looking kit, to be sure! A shame it's hardly available now.
About waterslides, I'm getting the GM Cannon (North American Front) very soon, and I noticed that some color apps (not just markings) are available on the waterslide sheet.
The thing is, I've never used waterslides before; I looked up a few tutorials and they only really apply for markings, rather than large color apps, so I was wondering if you had any tips for applying larger waterslides over curved/textured/detailed surfaces?
How hard should I press down with my cotton bud so the panel lines behind line up and show through? One of the more problematic details would be the red line decals that wrap around the barrel of the 240mm cannon; how rigid are the decals? Will it be easy to wrap a thin line decal around a cylinder like that without tearing or having it fall off?
I know I'm asking a lot, but I only have one chance for these slides so I want to be as prepared as possible to avoid tearing and misplacing. Thanks!
yeah just be careful and i find it helps to have some liquid down on the plastic before putting down a large decal, be it water or Mark Softer. Press it down on the corners to keep it from sliding, then roll the Q-tip across the surface to push out the liquid underneath
For decals crossing panel lines, first just run some mark softer over it after it's dried the first time. If it doesn't settle in all the way, cut along the panel line with your knife, then reapply the mark softer. Continue as normal, and it'll be fine after you do your panel lining. You should have no issues with going around a cylinder with a line decal. At worst, you may have to make small cuts to keep it from bunching up. If you find HLJ's youtube channel, they did a big segment on working with Hi-Nu ver Ka's massive funnel decals. That should help fill in details for you.
Hey Zach, I just thought that I'd let you know about the beam rifle. It's not a problem with the gun per se, but more the hands as you're supposed to have 2 fingers inside the trigger guard. I had to separate the fingers on my Gelgoog 2.0 to get it to hold the rifle right.
I did that! Still couldn't get it to stay in firmly.
Underdog gelgoog
Wow... I am early. Nice review as always.
speaking of old kits what do you think about the underrated MS designs that has yet to be released in HG & MG format? such as the Crossbone Vanguard grunts, Zanscare Empire units, Wing grunts, & Gundam X grunts which were only available in those ancient & primitive 1/144 & 1/100 kits which were just over-glorified statues with parts meant to be separate molded as a single piece thus making their articulation out of the question, i just recently happened to be aware of these things due to a local store managed to have a stock full of them for some reason.
Zanscare units NEED the modern 1/100 treatment. Hell, we dont even have HGUCs of ANYTHING zanscare, but we have every goddamn V Gundam variant. I REALLY want some RE 1/100 Zanscare stuff. Since gun EZ is getting the 1/100 treatment, maybe?
It would be cool if you did a mg rx 78-2 2.0 review
im happy to have the RG gundam MK.II option. G.defenser & flying wing
I thought I ordered that but I didn't and missed it :(
So if I understand, the backpack and new forearms parts are the exact same from the original MG Gelgoog cannon?
go for mg gelgoog high mobility type pb version haha
Zakuaurelius reviewing Grunts is starting to make me a Grunt Suit Lover XD
Wish Bandai made a Mono Eye Gundam kit.
I NEED and HG or RE Sisquede
RE would be perfect for something so obscure. My only issue is that I-Field generator on the cannon is HUGE. That's going to be a problem in any grade.
its color and arm cannons remind me of AF Dunbine
Nothing looks right here. It's extremely apparent they just slapped together parts from two different models of different quality. The cannon parts just look cheap next to the body detailing.
In my opinion, you could get better results by getting a regular kit and super gluing a GI Joe bazooka to its crotch
Yeah i got my gelgoogs hip joint broken
Will there be an Origin Gelgoog?
Who knows! Fingers crossed!
go for pb gelgoog high mobility type
Does the 1.0 backpack just plug into the 2.0 or is there an adapter? Thinking about doing the kit bash.
MuShinnen just plugs in! So you could use the backpack of the 1.0 kit with the 2.0~ you'll only need adapter pieces for the arm parts, which are included with this kit. And the new head of course
are u going to use an airbrush when u paint it?
of course!
I think you'll need major modifications to the head if you are going to kitbash it. Better to just buy the HGUC.
I mean use the head of the MG 1.0 Gelgoog cannon. It's not that terribly different just a little different shape
The exterior shape is not that different, but the internals is. The 1.0 head's polycap is inside the head while 2.0 has the polycap lower in the neck.
Mine still in the box lol
I buy today a ooooold mg gelgoog cannon satandar kit is agood kit..for this year
Does the Gelgoog head designed to look like the head of a razorback or a vulture? Hmmm
dunno, but I like that it matches the head of the Zaku Cannon
where can i buy this now ?
ebay, amazon maybe, amiami, mandarake. i dunno, google it!
I don't like the robo underoos but the rest of the kits cool.
Lovely looking kit, though that head feels like a bit of an ugly duckling. Probably just a, "you-get-used-to-it" sort of deal.
Not sure if I missed it, but are those extra beam rifle attachments (grenade launcher and bipod) included in the normal Gelgoog 2.0?
Eiren Kjell yes the normal Gelgoog 2.0 comes with the rifle w/ grenade launcher. It's a really nice accessory ^___^
Yes they are.
Looks like Gelgoog is known for having a Washing Machine Cockpit
Doesnt look like a MG..
It's the one thing stopping me from getting a Gelgoog, too little detail on the outside because of there design, so there pretty plain and only thing goin for it is the size.
I think the detail is quite tasteful. It's actually got really nice detail, it's just not splattered all over every centimeter of the surface. some areas have more detail than others. I agree the kit basically looks like it could be an RE, but that beautiful frame is super nice.
Oh yeah, No doubt the frame is beautiful, I have the 2.0 Zaku II so I can defiantly understand, just personally hard to get around how flat and sloped this current Gelgoog is. Now a MG Thunderbolt Gelgoog kit, i'd jump all over that, really love that version.
God damn the Gelgoog is ugly. Colours on this version are nice though.
Heresy! The Gelgoog is cool looking! haha
Hahahaha! Its big, and imposing. I think its the shoulders. I'll get one and build it with Dom shoulders, now THAT would be cool.
