The Greens have been governing the realm for years, they have the better rulers, the better council, a sitting monarch who would be happy to let his experienced council rule, and their claim to the throne is literally backed by the same laws of succession that the entire realm follows.
Aegon is still young and hasn’t fully formed yet, much like Tom Glynn-Carney (the actor) says, he would probably make for a great king if he had more time to learn how to channel his fire.
Meanwhile, Rhaenyra has been doing absolutely nothing for decades, in fact she’s done everything possible to prove she’s an unworthy heir…and she’s got Daemon by her side, who is objectively the worst possible individual to hand the power of the Iron Throne to.
With literally every content creator I've seen, along with 90% of the audience, simping for team black and completely dismissing all their faults, it's refreshing to hear people who see the conflict the same way I do and actually give team green the props they deserve. I'm way more sympathetic to team green, especially since the writers OBVIOUSLY want everybody to be team black.

The character assassination the show does on the greens is so blunt and obnoxious, it really shows a lack of respect for the audience and is quite insulting. They think were fucking rubes. Green forever.

Well if you look at the trailer and the "dragon fight scene" (around 2:10) hes not even wearing armor lol - also theres a promo somewhere that shows him sheathing his swords in the woods (rooks rest?) and hes also wearing just regular clothes not armor.

I think it's worse that he didn't do anything to secure the throne for rhaenyra or teach rhaenyra how to rule and curb her less than exemplary tendencies(mothering bastards and being if not dismissive outright hostile to the lords of westeros being prime examples)and ensure a peaceful transfer of power, sure there would have been some problems and possibly even a small rebellion or two but a massive civil war was entirely avoidable by simply teaching her how to rule and interact with her subordinates as well as making sure she doesn't do anything too destructive(insulting that lannister guy was pretty bad and mothering obvious bastards is even worse)
Team Green is terrible, only great character is Helaena, Aegon is unworthy of the crown, Aemond is more worthy and even then No, and Viserys was the King and he chose Rhaenyra so she’s the heir and should be Queen.

It is no secret that we live in a polarized world and our political system more tribal. We all have our own biases whether we would like to admit it or not.
That’s why I wanted to say what a breath of fresh air this vod was. Despite our natural tendencies, you were both able to put that aside to look at just the facts alone. I thank you for being so fair and impartial.
Aegon was just a wasted character, exaggerated/invented faults aside. Even if they didn't want to go with a guy who'd be a "good king" in the medieval sense of the term. Martial and all that like Aemond. They could still have gone down a Richard II of England or Louis XVI of France route. Even combining the two rulers persaonalities/policies. Particularly in regard to the Louis XVI route as a well meaning but personally ill-equiped man destined to be king to early due to his own early father's death, much like Viserys. So many ways they could have made him a "bad king" without making him a "bad man" and what's shaping up to be a "tyrant king".
Particularly annoyed because I know the actor who plays him has the stones to play a totally authentic hedonistic, power-hungry and cunning badass!!!

So if nothing else, he has the ability to if not play Aegon if not as a badass. As he did with a young Juilus Casear. He at least as the acting chops to play a more complex Aegon II. Rather than the barely three-three dimensional character we got Season 1 and possibly Season 2. Fingers crossed I'm wrong and we see some growth.
Considering how good of an actor Tom is, a Richard II type Aegon would have been cool for the show.

I would way the worst from what has been shown to the audience is Alicent. That is not a conclusion I enjoy simply because she is being told stuff is happening behind her back and the Greens don't appear to trust her due to her empathies with Rhaenrya. From the show perspective, Alicent is a liability who has no control of the situation. Aegon has this problem, but it does appear to be somewhat mended as he appears to be taking on the role and will get into the nit and grit of the battles which is where I disagree in the Joffrey comparisons. I am not saying Alicent needs a sword or dragon to have agency, but what she does need is to take charge in the small council as being a dowager queen is useful to the Greens cause.
Yeah it sucks because they want to make Alicent a middle greyer character thus making her less definitive and assertive on a single focus goal

It's easy to see why Rhaenyra was heir in the show. Viserys was a overall mediocre king who kept Westeros as a whole stable but was weighed down by his own failing body and dreams. I can easily see how the horror of having to butcher his wife to potentially save his son caused an overwelming desire to see the reminder of his love (Rhaenyra) in the best position possible. Even if the Greens showed to be the greatest thing since Valaryia I don't believe he would change.
I originally was Team Black, but then I heard other YTers talk about how tragic Rhanera is for not having a good father figure.

Team Black really just sucks. The only ones I root for are Daemon, Corlys, and the kids. Everyone else is either boring as hell, severely flawed no matter how much the showrunners want to hide it, or both. At least with the Greens they keep their flaws honest and let THE AUDIENCE come to their own conclusions instead of being forced to see one team as "the good guys".
Also, green council scenes are always the best scenes in the show, this isn't a debate.

Marketing House of Dragons as Team Black and Team Green is really clever, much better strategy than over hyping a stupid Fan Theory that the producers and George RR Martin read in the internet, and when they executed in the TV Show ended in a disaster, but is pointless really, there aren't good or bad characters in this war, are degrees of how bad they are, discounting the children, some of them end being killed because arrogance or stupidity, but House of the Dragon of the Dance of the Dragon is George RR Martin version of Shakespeare Hamlet. No one remember how nearly all the characters in that play ended?

For them to say “Aegon wasn’t like this in Fire and Blood”🙄 Fire and Blood was vague on purpose. It glossed over a lot of details and wasn’t even from any of the Targaryens perspectives, it was the perspective of Maesters and Mushroom. If the Lannisters wrote the history about Joffrey they’d say he was a galant and brave king who defended kingslanding against his usurper uncle. Of course the histories wouldn’t mention Aegon being a r*pist or forcing kids to fight to the death, especially since the Hightowers own Old Town, the Citadel, and the Maesters.
