    Get some monitor stands or anything to lift those monitors up to about the same height as your ears. I know it's probably not doing much for the creative process, but it would be such a shame if all the effort was put into making the room soundproof and acquiring all the expensive gear, but meanwhile having your monitors put away behind some mixer on the desk. Idk if this is the regular setup, but it will make a difference! :)

    • @sadpepe7937
      @sadpepe7937 7 років тому +1

      Yeah, not a setup for mixing.
      Beside the speaker placement, that small room probably has problems in the low end in any case, as foam like that doesn't absorb it much.
      I also doubt this room was treated professionally.
      No problem for writing, but problematic for mixing or even mastering.

      I doubt that they have to many problems with their mixes. Tends to turn out pretty good for them ;)

    • @xdeville1
      @xdeville1 5 років тому

      @@nym053 also i´m sure they give their mixes away to a mastering studio

    • @nym053
      @nym053 5 років тому +1

      @@xdeville1 - Yeah of course they do. But a mastering engineers job is not to fix the mixing. It's to finalize it and give it that little bit of extra something.

    wow, what a limited studio. what you think guys, you think they could live only from producing, or isn´t it possible without DJing.

    • @xdeville1
      @xdeville1 5 років тому

      @Glenn Smith thats sucks. imagine you want work in calm and inpiration in your studio, but have no need to play the hyperhyper dj in front of cowds..

    11:03 tell me pls what he was doing with that fab saturn? He was sidechain thru this plugin?

    • @sadpepe7937
      @sadpepe7937 7 років тому +2

      He wasn't clear on what exactly the kick modulates on the ride cymbal. And while he doesn't even mention the Saturn there, you can see modulation indicators on a few controls, which *might* be MIDI-controlled by the kick notes. If he used the kick's audio signal, it's not in Saturn, as seen by the sidechain set to 'none'.
      I'm on my phone without headphones, so I don't really hear what's going on, but might check on my monitors when I get to it.
