A2 60532 ‘Blue Peter’ Ongoing loaded test runs in shropshire-Severn Valley Railway - 28/03/24 - 4K

- The previous 2 weeks a special locomotive was to visit the Severn Valley Railway to begin slowly coming back into service.
The locomotive in question would be a Thompson A2 BR (ER) 60532 ‘Blue Peter’ out shopped in a stunning BR Express Passenger Blue, after almost 22 years out of service.
This locomotive has had quite the history for sure, in 1994 she witnessed a devastating wheelslip on leaving durham.. inexperienced crew couldn’t get control of a wheelslip of an excessive 140mph damaging the valve gear and boiler, she then became overhauled and was completed within a couple of years to which she then became withdrawn in 2002 going on static display over at barrow hill roundhouse.
After almost 22 years out of steam she re-enters service and having good connections with the guys at the severn valley she was slowly brought back into steam conducting light & loaded test runs up the full 16 mile line.
During the course of my 2 day outings the weather and conditions were against me.. if the wind wasn’t ridiculous the rain was.. none the less been fantastic seeing this wonderful A2 return to traffic and hope to see it back on the national network soon..

Good job Liam, glad to see you braved the rain and got out to see it. I kept dreaming of going to see it at other places but had to make do with Kidderminster. I noticed the sanders were being used in the wet conditions speeding away from Sterns speed restriction.
The rain and wind was so bad today mate, was soaked right through from the get go!

Nice video mate with some really Incredible shots and sound. It’s amazing to see Blue Peter back in Service. I enjoyed being out for Blue Peter Yesterday as well as it was my first time seeing it.
The weather was atrocious today!

@@LiamsLocos I know the clips I filmed of blue Peter and Hagley hall got ruined because of the wind and Rain and Bewdley wasn’t great either
