I remember getting this game in a shop as a little kid, big and nice box, on my way home I was thinking "Nice I have this new game I can't wait to play", and at home I was happy to open the box, read the manual, insert the disk and play. Same experience with Flashback, Populous 2, Wing Commander, etc. Good times!
An all-time classic game for the Amiga. I had this game for my Amiga 500 and finished it. And as i remember correctly - if Guybrush stays underwater for 10 minutes at a harbour and never gets out of there, he will be drown and the game is over. That also works in a Special Edition version. 👍🐈
The utter joy this game gave me! Loved it so much, in a league of its own! Ahhh nostalgia, such era in my life too, before all the tech and mobile phones. Loved the humour, exressions, the great music and strong characters. 😊🙂🙂
Some one is asking for 500 euros original copy of this game in internet, now there is a lechuck revenge monkey island 2 remake that is very nice to play and to solve the puzzles. 100% recomended for all the retro lovers.
I'm not sure that you would, unless you're playing the EGA version via ScummVM. The original and official Amiga version was somewhat unique in several ways - the background graphics were one-off palette-reduced versions of the VGA backgrounds (thank you, DPaint "Remap" function), plus tweaked versions of the EGA sprites. The music and sound effects were adapted and reworked (as stated in the opening credits) by Chris Huelsbeck and Rudolf Stember from the German studio Rainbow Arts (of "Turrican" fame). Unusually for a US-based dev studio, LucasArts seemed to have gone out of their way to make the most of the Amiga as a platform as far as this game was concerned. This is especially notable when contrasting it with the Atari ST version, which essentially shoveled over the EGA graphics and single-channel PC speaker music.

Very deared days of my long gone youth...

And all of the action buttons will change to words like bob, float, order hint book and stuff like that
The sequel is arguably even better

🙏🏻 when I see the screenshot I hear the music of the Scum bar in my head 😂
Played it then (in my youth) with my brother.
Why do I see monkey island in my amiga with ega graphics?

Got it 😎
Why does everything trade at night
❤️
some day the will turn this game into a shitty (yet strangely entertaining) hollywood movie. Wanna bet?
Pirates of the Caribbean has some similarities
@@eltocado Pretty sure everyone knows this by now but they were both based on the same Theme park ride!
No sound after 26 minutes?:((
I think it's just you I'm afraid - just watched the video and there is sound.
@@AL82RetrogamingLongplaysI think it's just because sometimes this game is completely silent when nothing is happening.
no speech.. lame..
Ci gioco ancora oggi sul cellulare con l app scummvm e le rom❤
