This is an awesome little kit to go over a lot of contents for a really good deal this was the last one and I found out he is not going to make anymore.
Yea I agree I asked the seller if he was going to make more and he said negative on that one so I guess this is it. I would love to see another seller that could make a great kit like this for such a good price.
Gotta say that was a really good kit. The biggest thing that stops me from buying kits is all the junk gear. This kit seems to have quality stuff. Of course price is what really matters. An that price is amazing. What really makes me laugh. My Grandfather who got me into outdoors. Every kit he made me for boyscouts had 20 different types of cord. He was one of a kind. In scouts everyone knew i had cord. This was in the 80s. Lol. Well you deserve a good deal after a few of those kits. Id like to see what you would put together out of all the stuff you have. Of course every environment needs different things. What works for me on the east coast. Might not be real good for desert like new Mexico or high mountains like Utah. Even city is different from country. I have new thoughts on sillcock key and lock picks. This world is getting worse. Doesn't matter what people want to believe. I survived the riots in Baltimore. Then a home invasion broke my arm and ribs an pistolwhipped my wife. Moved to Florida for 6 years. In that we survived 2 big hurricanes and one small one. Went 3 weeks without power the first time. Because they didn't fix the poles. They just wrapped it with a strap. We went a week without power. That stuff really gave me a idea of whats to come. I learned about prepping in the 1980s from my neighbor who was military intelligence. I never thought it could happen. Nowadays im 100% sure it will happen just not sure when an for how long. Anyway i enjoy your videos. I just wanted you to know where im coming from. In the early 90s my friends would say im overindulging my fantasy. I surely hope i am.
Wow, I really appreciate you and your wife’s strength and perseverance. You have really been through some traumatic events during your lifetime. It seems like your preparedness and skills have been able to help you out along with some luck during all the events that have happened to you. You’re definitely right about the world getting worse. It’s a lot different now even from when I was a kid in the 90s. I have 5 kits here I have built one of them is for me to use and review the others I’m going to sell so you will get to see what is in one of my compact kits. Now I also live on the east coast also I’m actually in PA so the environment isn’t too much different than the countryside of Maryland but I do live in a town that’s sub 3000 people. It’s a lot more peaceful here than in the city. I traveled for work during the riots and it was insane even with my CCW it would have been useless for me to get through all the insanity i was happy Amazon built their buildings on the outskirts of the city’s or in airports. The cordage thing with your pap made me laugh out loud thought that was pretty funny but honestly he was right cordage is hard to recreate! Unprepared people always find it strange that your being prepared until something happens then they realize why we do the things we do. It’s not crazy it’s just paying alittle more attention to what’s going on around us than what everyone else is. This was a crazy good deal and I wish the guy would continue to make more they would be work another 10 dollars on top of what I paid for at least. Thanks for the comment I appreciate it and I enjoyed hearing the events that have happened through your life and what you have been through and have persevered.
Cheaper gear is for practicing skills with and for people who can't afford good quality things, or people like me who kitbash kits no matter what i think it is a good exercise to use cheaper gear and think how could you make it better
Holy cow!! What an amazing deal you got on this kit for only $15 dollars. Those 3 dyneema spools are worth $15 alone. The yellow spool is Kevlar thread. Congrats on an fantastic Ebay find. No doubt this kit was made by someone and ended up in some yard sale where the ebay seller found it. You could never put this kit together for only $15 dollars.
Absolutely not. There was a lot of components and thinking that went into this one. There’s probably not another one like it out there and if there is it’s probably worth a lot more money than eBay I paid 😁
To start off with, I’d add, as mentioned and suggested by previous posts, a compacting survival/emergency blanket of some kind, a backup (or replacement) 1 liter bag of some kind for water catchment, a significant number of water purification tablets (like at least half a side of the container of them), a basic first aid/“boo boo” kit for cuts, scrapes, burns, and basic fever/pain management, a basic sewing kit, and a sail needle. As far as the drill bit now, my thought would be that it’s the kit creator’s way of giving you a kit-functional version of the proverbial bushcraft auger bit tool.
You’re probably right about the auger that’s a great idea! I guess there are not too many stand alone mini awls out there just on multitools! I like the list of contents you would add to this kit and the last kit. Water is definitely a top priority for sure! First aid is very important also! Thanks again for being here!
Really nice video presentation of a good survival kit. Well done. Additions: did I miss water procurement and purification? I’d add at least a whirl-pak one liter bag and purification tablets and maybe a frontier filter straw if room, a Heatsheet survival blanket, a small fishing kit and a boo boo kit for minor wounds/ burns. That’s my two cents! Thanks!
All of them are great addition to a kit I love the water purification aspects you mentioned. I’m guessing the creator imagined we would use the container to boil water to drink. This is only going to hold a few ounces though. It’s way more than an Altoids tin but not 12 oz either. I think alike with the survival blanket also one of them should be in or strapped to every one of these kits. They are cheap and very lightweight. Thanks for the comment I appreciate the input!
Yea I know I talked to him for a little while to see if he could continue to make them even if he charged a little more it would be totally worth it. This has been one of the best kits. Maybe he will change his mind eventually! Thanks for the comment and view from across the ocean I appreciate it!
Someone put a lot of thought and work behind that kit. It's one of the better ones that I've seen for sale. I'm a huge advocate for the emergency blankets and always have a couple on me at all times. I like the idea of the cooking tin. However without a handle of some sort it would be difficult to remove from the coal bed. Especially if you're using it to boil water. I used to sell my own kits in water bottles on ebay. One thing I've never seen anyone else do, I used to include one of those draw string backpacks so the person would have a way to carry all the items when they're actually using the water bottle.
Yea that makes things a little more difficult to keep track of the stuff if you’re using the container for your water. This one is an awesome kit and he said he’s not making any more as of now. I might try to find a water bottle kit to review if I can find one
M40 gear is topnotch for the price and they sell complete survival kits as well as components. Of course this kit was a super bargain as just a few of the items add up to $30! If you squeeze in a mylar blanket the Mors Kochanski Super Shelter becomes an option. Amazing how much more stuff fits in a cooking tin vs. an altoids tin. Thanks for the review!
Thank you for watching I really appreciate it again! I was surfing on m40 gear website the other day again I think I’m going to pick up another kit to go over from them I have another 10 or so lined up. You can definitely cram a lot of gear into this cooking tin it holds alot I was looking for one in a camp cook cup there’s one on Etsy but it’s a little steep for what comes in it. I made 5 kits to sell in my store when I get it up and running. Plus I will probably do a few shirts hats 40oz cups when the channel gets a little bigger and people might want some merch 😆. I am really happy people enjoy the content though! Thanks again
Many of those items are from M40 Survival.. He has some nice kits & offers some neat knives made from reciprocating saw blades... In addition to that little plastic sheet, he offers a thin Mylar blanket folded down to around the same size... It's definitely worth checking out & maybe even doing a review on some of the M40 Survival kits....
I actually got on the website 2 nights ago and ordered a kit off the website to check out I will probably order more as my supply gets lower it seems like he has a cool amount of stuff on there 40 dollar minimum order which is fine it’s probably hard to have free shipping with anything less than 40.
I’m glad I can help you with alittle piece of mind. I have to make the videos before bed and I try to upload them before I get to sleep for work in the morning! Thanks for the views and comment!
This is a fantastic kit especially for the price. Yes absolutely a Mylar blanket. There are other things I'd add including medical and pharmacy. That tarp is exactly what I need for my current and future projects. Could the drill bit be used to make a handle for the ferro rod? Here is my one critique of your otherwise excellent review. Please don't be offended. But as someone who makes custom blades I wanted to see the butter knife in detail, but you kept waving and spinning it around. I like the idea of using them in kits. For my sardine project I made a knife from an old putty knife took the scales off of. The steel is surprisingly good and took a very good edge. My gripe with manufacturers are the huge spots they use. That thin 130# line could have been put on a bobbin saving room. Like the old spectra line.
Yes your right a bobbin takes up a lot less space than that bit spool especially for the length of cordage your getting on it. You can probably get more on a bobbin than on that spool! I apologize for moving the knife around so much. It’s a habit I’m used to being on the move and not holding still to much 😁 I will take that into consideration for the next custom knife video. It was a cool little knife for being made out of a butter knife but I could definitely see how a putty knife would do a better job for sure as a knife the steel is a lot less springy. A guy at my work has a sharpened one that he uses to clean caulking and whatnot and it is seriously sharp. The little tarp is awesome I wanna know where to get it or at least how he packed it up. You could be right about the drill bit also! Thanks for the comment and suggestion I will remember it for sure!
Zero doubt in my mind that you got that kit for the “honey get rid of this stuff” price. There’s no way the maker was offering those tools for $17 and turning a profit. There’s more than$17 in the cordage, whistle and the Bento box that it came in.
My guess is the butterknife fixed blade is designed so you can use it as a spearhead as well as a knife and for that use i think the spring would help it not to break if you hit a rock with it while trying to hunt.
Dude, you got the "I just cleaned out my warehouse" survival kit, which just happened to be his last one. The redundancy items are his way of liquidating his inventory. Cannibalize it to your other kits.
Absolutely I will use the stuff up for sure. I was wondering this exact thing if it was a kit ending kit and he was just getting rid of the last bit of stuff to not be seen again
Yea you’re definitely right! Losing the extra packaging would add more space to fit other gear in there especially a water bag and some purification tablets. That’s a great suggestion thanks for the comment and view!
The website on the package for the plastic tarp sells a lot of the items that are in this kit. I really like the kit too bad they are not available anymore.
That’s awesome I’m going to check that website out. I talked to the guy that made the kits and he’s just not interested in making anymore but it definitely was cool to check out thanks for watching and thanks for the comment!
Replace the condom with a quart size ziploc freezer bag you can tape a hole on a ziploc bag if it starts to leak. good luck on doing that with a condom
Yea that would be a pretty rough problem. I had a lady tell me the other day to put the condom in a sock. I can see how it would add some confidence to carrying a rubber filled with water 😆
There’s actually no branding at all on the little pan. It’s some kind of small baking pan with a lid but it seems a little heavier duty than your standard baking pan. I will search around and see if I can find one similar on Amazon after work
Yea in all honesty I would probably just boil the water in the cooking tin the kit came with. I would prefer to have instant access to water though with a water bag and purification tabs or a water purification straw
I'm a survivalist this Kit for a Pocket survival kit is actually not that bad > could survive for 2 weeks with this kit it has pretty much everything you need to get started and start surviving but I always keep a knife that has Tinder a Ferrow Rod and paracord plus fishing kit and compass all attached to everyone of my knives but t&is Kit is not bad
Yea this one was one of the more substantial ones that I have seen. Plenty of cordage and ways to make fire plus the purification drops. It’s one of the best I seen so far. The Coghlans one had some good stuff in it too they all can be made and stuff added to what we want but this is one of the better ones for sure
That's an amazing kit for the money. Really wish they were still available.

Dude the beard 😮 looks good 👍 what a neat little kit!

sheesh that whistle is mad loud, nice little kit, no room wasted.
Yea I thought so too it’s a shame he doesn’t wanna make anymore. Thanks for watching!!

My guess is the butterknife fixed blade is designed so you can use it as a spearhead as well as a knife and for that use i think the spring would help it not to break if you hit a rock with it while trying to hunt.

Absolutely I will use the stuff up for sure. I was wondering this exact thing if it was a kit ending kit and he was just getting rid of the last bit of stuff to not be seen again
That's a lot of bang for the buck
Yea absolutely I thought the same thing
you might be abke to fit another item in there if you can get rid of some of theextra packaging from the black cordage spools and other bagged items
Yea you’re definitely right! Losing the extra packaging would add more space to fit other gear in there especially a water bag and some purification tablets. That’s a great suggestion thanks for the comment and view!

So close, a Whirlpack water bag would have made it perfect
Yea the container is good to boil water in but only 6 oz at a time or so a 1 liter bag would have made it perfect
I made some out of same containers but lids don't last long they break easily
It’s a cool container a metal lid would work a lot better!
I wouldn't add anything to that, but I might add some of that to a bug out bag
Yea I would just toss the whole thing in there as a supplement to a full kit I was surprised with everything in this kit!
Where did the container come from? What brand? Thanks!
There’s actually no branding at all on the little pan. It’s some kind of small baking pan with a lid but it seems a little heavier duty than your standard baking pan. I will search around and see if I can find one similar on Amazon after work
It looks like a stainless steel lunchbox. It's very commun in Germany (Brotdose).
I get similar containers with the lids from Daisy, under 2$
Remove the foil and replace it with an aluminum foil loaf baking pan folded flat it will give you more volume for boiling water and is sturdier
Yea in all honesty I would probably just boil the water in the cooking tin the kit came with. I would prefer to have instant access to water though with a water bag and purification tabs or a water purification straw
I'm a survivalist this Kit for a Pocket survival kit is actually not that bad > could survive for 2 weeks with this kit it has pretty much everything you need to get started and start surviving but I always keep a knife that has Tinder a Ferrow Rod and paracord plus fishing kit and compass all attached to everyone of my knives but t&is Kit is not bad

could fit a couple small bandages in i
Yea mini cut and scrape kit would have been cool
The thing about all these kits that you should be able to make a perfect kit for yourself just from the info.
Yes your right I open these to give people ideas on what they can fit inside their own kits! That’s a great idea thanks for the comment
The first spool is dyneema and look in the bottom the two sides open up and I would get dyneema xlippers
Would a pair of nail clippers work for the same situation if you don’t mind explaining what makes that cordage special?
@@whitetailsurvival2430 Dyneema is very resistant and can be used like an improvised saw to cut wood, leather, plastic, etc.
