One of my favorite lines of this entire series is when Mason & Charlene have gone out a few times and he shyly admits that he had a dream about her. She asks, "What was I doing?" He says she wasn't wearing many clothes and she asks, "What are you wearing?" Mason sweetly says, "I don't know...I wasn't looking at me".
I swear I watch for their wardrobe! lol
I honestly loved the introduction to Mason as a possible love interest for Charlene. He was so funny. The AF guy is her soulmate but Mason was a runner up for boyfriends of hers.

I never thought Mason was that fat, not even in the 1980s when I saw this new. John Candy was considered fat, but I always thought he was cute. Mason had a better personality than Bill, who Charlene later married. Suzanne was considered as fat, but she wasn't that much. Some eps, her waist is narrow and flat.
I only wacthed THEN and the repeat episodes on Antenna TV NOW of Designing Women 97% because of Orlando Florida native Delta"The Original BABE" Burke..WOW I had a HUGE L❤VE CRUSH on her.I just L❤VED her size,(BBW) her beauty,her walk,her clothing styles,her all natural 80s look.❤The other 3% The Great Humor from the entire cast.👏👍

True but Charlene even thought she was doing him a favor by even agreeing to date him because of his weight. Mason made a point about her embarrassing him and then that’s when she mad her dig.. smh ..
I remember watching this in the 80's thinking Mason looked so huge. But, by today's standards, he's not that big.
No. Because every other person is also overweight.
I never thought he was as big as they made him to be. yes overweight but not so big that u wouldn't go out with him
Did Charlene ever talk Mason into improving his self-esteem? I can't remember.
