Great setup🙂 ❤
Thank you! 🤗
Get you a folding table much easier
I got one after this trip and used it in the next as well as a tail veil tent. You’ll see. 😊
I always carry a little portable clothes line with me in my van that can be tied on to anything, pretty cheap on amazon or you can carry some cordage. Yes ,a cheap table cloth is awesome to have on board, walmart has some less than 4 dollars that you can just wipe down and reuse.
That is such a great idea! I will have to add that to my camping setup.
I would bring a small drying rack to dry things on. Many parks don’t have poles - generally meant to hang garage where bears could be present.
Most FL state parks are sandy so a rug is a necessity. Thursby House is very cool as is the whole riverboat history of the St John’s.
FYI - The park is Blue Spring (singular) not Springs. There are several state parks with the same name.
Thank you! Yea I was trying to pack light but a drying rack may be a necessity. 😊
Try Silver Springs, should be open for all the water-fun and some decent hiking within the park
It’s on my list. Hard to find a spot for a weekend.
You can fit a whole load of laundry on one of those racks that fold flat
Awesome!
Last year I went to Blue Spring and they said the river and all water sports had been canceled due to the manatees. It seems like they'll cancel at the drop of a hat, knowing you won't leave once you get there. Blue Springs State Park is permanently off my list. I get the last laugh.
They do close the water access starting November 15th for manatee season as it is a refuge for them to stay warm. I’m not sure when it reopens but it’s only during the Florida cold months. BUT this was an unexpected need to close because of the recent hurricanes that had just passed through there just a couple weeks prior to my arrival. Normally they would have been open.
That looks fun as hell! Bummer that aquatic sports were prohibited. Smother petroleum jelly on your exposed skin to keep the mosquitoes away- much better than Off or other repellants with nasty chemicals and smells.
Didn’t know that! Thanks
I live in Florida and I never heard of petroleum jelly either. Skin So Soft Spray. Thank you for the info. I’ll try it next time
The spring and its run are closed to do erosion control which is pretty bad at this park.
@@kdsailorgirl Is there a lot of development in the surrounding area? The officials probably don't thing about land reclamation too much, but this area is prone to that
@@WhoBeSillyno more development in there area than other springs. There is a lot of erosion around the spring head. Not sure but guessing that’s what they’re addressing. Erin around the spring head is made worse by yahoos who continuously ignore signs, climb up the bank and jump into the water.
Mosquitoes don't like mint. Would get some Trader Joe's tea tree oil and mint shampoo and body wash
Thanks! I'll keep that in mind for my next trip.
1 gram of sugar is a tad shy of 1/4 teaspoon.
Thank you!
