I 100% agree. It's so much more interesting to hear their perspective after watching it back and hearing how other players perceived them. The after show is just them being giddy from getting food and having just finished a big adventure. The reunion offered much better insights. I'd be fine with them doing both a quick aftershow to get their immediate thoughts and then do a full reunion

I feel awful for Stephanie. Apparently something happened between her and a member of production, and the S37 premiere gave her PTSD when all of the production members came out to help Pat. I don't think it's ever been confirmed what happened, but it sucks that, knowing how big of a fan she was of the show, it led to a net negative for her
This is speculation but it's heavily implied that she was sexually assaulted by a member of the medical team. It's absolutely disgusting and I feel terrible for her.

Most of Jerry's first 2 seasons with her has not aged well. Don't get me wrong, I fell for the Jerri villain edit in Australia same as most, but it is clear now at least to me she was never the machavilian villainess she was painted as and as, and while I don't want to start a debate over jerkygate yet again, I will say that all of it was basically because of how Survivor presented the whole thing with Kel which most now feel and Survivor all but admitted she did at least think she saw him cheat, so the fact she probably wasn't lying about it changes the entire narrative and I think Survivor knew she was never lying about that when they turned millions on her over it.
To the best of my recollection, Brandon and Phillip almost came to blows because they were arguing about which one of them liked Leif more as a Survivor contestant.
I’d much rather be around my one year old son than sit in Ponderosa. Particularly he was first voted out so he’d have sat around for months. At that age, they grow so quick a few months can make a big difference
yeah that was a weird joke on fatherhood lol I work as a youth care worker for 10 yrs and I know a tonne of new parents that have sacrificed everything from promotions to trips to big item purchases because their baby was always more important. Further, those parents can share with their kid for the REST OF THIER LIVES that mom / dad has always picked them over a "TV show because they're that important! Great video overall, I just think the joke may not have the desired humour for lots of parents watching

Considering the fact that Willie got ejected for headbutting another player, I think CBS was just tired of their nonsense, Plus, I think they ran out of hantz’s to put on tv.
What pissed me off about Dan is that there were multiple complaints by the cast but they kept him on but decided to get rid of him after he harassed a producer. To me it says they were fine with the harassment of the players cause it makes good TV but once it happened to a crew member that's where they say it wasn't ok?
What pisses me off even more is that they build the episode to where Kelley speaking up about it will lead to him being removed, if not by production, by the cast. Had production stepped in and removed him, it would have had the same effect. Also, if I recall correctly, it was a 2-hour episode with Kelley being voted out first. So having him removed and a normal vote of the aftermath would have worked out fine as well. Granted, they likely didn’t know the schedule during filining, though I don’t see how they thought that the rule of good tv taking over anything else could apply here.
Let’s not forget everyone who didn't make the final 3 in Winners At War, as well as Jeff’s car, who was expelled so his garage would be available... The car curse still carries on in 2020 😔

So I had an idea for a video and I thought I’d throw it out there: people always talk about rivalries during seasons (Chris vs Domenick in Ghost Island for example). How about a video talking about “one sided” rivalries? One contestant dislikes another and thinks there’s a rivalry while the other contestant is indifferent (Coach vs Brendan in Tocantins for example)
I think it was mainly because Varner after outing Zeke knew that he messed up. And, if his words were to be believed his actions weren't rooted in transphobia, he viewed it as a strategic play to highlight Zeke's ability to deceive people. (Even though there is a huge difference between lying about having an immunity idol to blindside your tribe, and just not telling anyone a piece of private information about yourself.)

To be fair, Brandon should never have been let to play the game in the first place. Survivor is a stressful game and he was clearly not in the right head space to play a second time. I wouldn't really even call Brandon toxic, he should never have been in the position he was in at all.

The only thing that I can think of is that there might be some crappy twist that involves Rob and Sandra being on the jury or there is a jury removal being offered at Island of the Idols In any case, Survivor juries there is a speculation of an unwritten rule where there is a minimum number of days on the island before being allowed to serve (note that production still pre-determined how many jurors to avoid a FTC tie starting from Season 26) - this is why players on EoE that didn't make it to the first postmerge tribal weren't allowed to serve, while there are premerge players that made in to the jury where they survived a minimum of 19/39 days before getting voted out and are allowed to serve on the jury despite never fully interacting with every player left on the cast

I don't think we will see live reunions again until Fiji fully lifts their covid travel restrictions. But I fo miss the live reunions as well. I think Jeff can have better questions when he has already seen the edit. I also think the contestants will be able to better explain their own edits after they have aired.
They didn’t do the live reunions in Fiji, though. The live reunions (not to be confused with the current aftershows) were usually taped in Los Angeles many months after the season finished taping. The COVID travel restrictions in Fiji wouldn’t have had much of an effect on whether a reunion could be put together once the pandemic got to a point where it was no longer considered what the World Health Organization calls a “Public Health Emergency of International Concern”. It reached that stage about a year ago. We’ll see what happens over the next couple of years, but I think the more accurate reason they’ve continued to have aftershows instead of live reunions is simply because it’s cheaper to do an aftershow right on-site at the Tribal Council than it would be to set up a studio or theater many months later. Additionally, they don’t have to pay the pre-merge boots an appearance fee like they would for a live reunion. The aftershows see the players reacting in the moment after coming out of the game and I guess is a little more raw and authentic, but we miss out on that hindsight they have only after watching the season along with the rest of us.
Tbh I loved watching Alec and was really bummed he wasn’t at the reunion. The dude was a freaking athlete and a beast at challenges. And just seemed like a homie. I was really hoping they would bring Him back for another season but that’s obviously not gunna happen now I know why he wasn’t at the reunion😂
Sad to hear Stephanie Johnson opted not to come, likely due to a bad experience. She was one of the players I felt had a lot of potential, but between losing a lot pre-merge and being swapped screwed, she left sooner than I would have liked. I felt like she had a lot more game in her.
I believe he got banned from attending Survivor reunion PARTIES after he got into a fight with one of Survivor producers. Can’t remember when it happened though.
I'm one of those people who never liked the live reunions, specially as they became more and more rushed with each season. I would love a post-season taped reunion without the audience, but between the old format and the new, I wholeheartedly prefer the new one.
I am once again asking, please put a way for people to avoid seeing spoilers in your vids. If you just put a big "#1: Season x" screen before each entry, we could skip the season it was from if we haven't seen it yet. Or put timestamps in the description. And don't just show clips of people from random seasons and spoil that they're the winner.
If the aftershow will become permanent, the production could at least bring back the pre-jurors before reading the final vote (after the jury votes) and make them stay in the aftershow since they’re part of the season after all. 🙃
I didn't watch the season Dan was on, but it seems to me Survivor was fine with empty threats when a contestant complained about constant unwanted touching he was clearly ignoring, but then he did it once to one of their production crew and THEN fun time was over. Shows how little they actually care about the players.
Jeremy was insinuating that John and Angelina were a couple a la Rob and Amber while they were in Goliath tribe, but Angelina had recently got married at the time. She vehemently denied it, and targeted Jeremy hard until he got booted.

I dont get why theres a rule that players cant post pictures of themselves with other players. It feels like a stretch to call that a spoiler. Like even first boots of a season would mingle with everyone else. Ethan and Amber dated before all stars, and they werent even on the same season. So just because two players became friends after the show, I dont think that alone would constitute a spoiler. Unless you count "who hate who" "who is friendly with who" as spoiler
To me that's another reason to stop having so many hidden immunity idols. One is enough. I think it would be funny the first season they did that. They'd all be looking around for nothing.

I've really been disappointed with the new era. It's short (Survivor Lite), there seems to be a fair amount of food rewards (for such a short time), there is no reunion and it has become a social commentary piece (I watch a show to be entertained not informed). I still watch it, but I am finding myself enjoying Australian Survivor more now.
Phillip should have been banned from the reunion, instead. Or they could have just wheeled Brandon out, strapped to that vertical gurney like Hannibal Lecter. Would have been hilarious.

The aftershows see the players reacting in the moment after coming out of the game and I guess is a little more raw and authentic, but we miss out on that hindsight they have only after watching the season along with the rest of us.

Tbh I loved watching Alec and was really bummed he wasn’t at the reunion. The dude was a freaking athlete and a beast at challenges. And just seemed like a homie. I was really hoping they would bring Him back for another season but that’s obviously not gunna happen now I know why he wasn’t at the reunion😂
Actually Willie Hantz (Russell’s brother but not Brandon’s dad) was on Big Brother after Caramoan filmed but before it aired. He was removed, too.
Sad to hear Stephanie Johnson opted not to come, likely due to a bad experience. She was one of the players I felt had a lot of potential, but between losing a lot pre-merge and being swapped screwed, she left sooner than I would have liked. I felt like she had a lot more game in her.

I'm one of those people who never liked the live reunions, specially as they became more and more rushed with each season. I would love a post-season taped reunion without the audience, but between the old format and the new, I wholeheartedly prefer the new one.
I am once again asking, please put a way for people to avoid seeing spoilers in your vids. If you just put a big "#1: Season x" screen before each entry, we could skip the season it was from if we haven't seen it yet. Or put timestamps in the description. And don't just show clips of people from random seasons and spoil that they're the winner.

If the aftershow will become permanent, the production could at least bring back the pre-jurors before reading the final vote (after the jury votes) and make them stay in the aftershow since they’re part of the season after all. 🙃
I didn't watch the season Dan was on, but it seems to me Survivor was fine with empty threats when a contestant complained about constant unwanted touching he was clearly ignoring, but then he did it once to one of their production crew and THEN fun time was over. Shows how little they actually care about the players.

I love the reunion shows just because it's always shocking to see that some players are significantly less attractive with makeup and fancy clothes than dressed in rags and covered in wounds

I'm okay without the live reunion. Personally I think both the after show and live reunion are equally boring.
I just want fewer hidden immunity idols, no more fire making challenges, and only having two tribes per season.
I dont get why theres a rule that players cant post pictures of themselves with other players. It feels like a stretch to call that a spoiler. Like even first boots of a season would mingle with everyone else. Ethan and Amber dated before all stars, and they werent even on the same season. So just because two players became friends after the show, I dont think that alone would constitute a spoiler. Unless you count "who hate who" "who is friendly with who" as spoiler

I've really been disappointed with the new era. It's short (Survivor Lite), there seems to be a fair amount of food rewards (for such a short time), there is no reunion and it has become a social commentary piece (I watch a show to be entertained not informed). I still watch it, but I am finding myself enjoying Australian Survivor more now.
