@@outofdangerproject I recently found out that Mangkono trees prefer ultramafic soil (magnesium, iron rich, etc.) to grow well. Did you test your soil? It's likely high quality. Our land was farmed for rice for 100 years, so it might be nutrient deficient.
@@Jordan23no We had ours tested locally at a soil laboratory, but not for magnesium. I'm sure it has a lot of iron in it based on the color, though. I think this area has mostly been used for tiger grass and bananas.
Hi po, have you tried growing Calophyllum? I've been reading it can be made into biofuel, etc. The flowers look pretty and apparently fragrant. I wonder of it would flower in a pot.
@@outofdangerproject Salamat po, hopefully we'd see vids of it. It just sound like it's useful and apparently it's one of the Austronesian canoe plants.
That's a popular crop in Sablan, so you see them drying out on the roads every year for people to use to make the walis tambo. Thank you for watching our video!
Nice. We will be putting in a few of those as well! The new growth is quite beautiful!
Thanks! Their flowers are very beautiful too

We haven't tried that - we'll need to look into that species. Thank you for pointing it out!
