Nurse Natalie from North Carolina here! 🇺🇸 This is a great video with very informative content. I’m a solo traveler and appreciate the new ideas I’ve gained from watching your videos. Thank you for taking us along with you!
Fraser, you are really hitting your stride and making some of the best cruise videos on YT-a perfect mixture of talking head, shots letting the scenery speak for itself, useful tips and as always appropriate soundtrack. Watch the subscriptions grow this year! Great job!
Hi Fraser, what a great day you had in Brugge. I.m.h.o. it is the most beautiful town in Belgium. What I really like about your video's is that you take us all along (the bus and train) and not just show the city itself. I'm born in Rotterdam so I'm curious to hear what you did and how you liked it.
Hey! Thanks very much - glad you enjoyed! I’ve actually uploaded my Rotterdam video - you can find it here :) ua-cam.com/video/-qnT5iC6HZc/v-deo.html Hope you enjoy!!
You’ve discovered Bruges ! We 💙’d the city and are of the same mindset - we want to go back 😀. Thanks for bringing back fond memories. Enjoying the content - C U on the next 1 ✅
Bruges is definitely one of my favourite cruise ports I've visited. So picturesque with the cobbled streets and canals. There is a terrific history walking tour to explore the town. Lots of tasty European food and beer to sample. I got lucky with glorious sunshine last summer making it even more enjoyable. I left with the same impression as you, thinking that it is well worth a city break in the future. If you know other towns like this in the region, please share them as I'd love to string a few together. I've heard nearby Ghent is also very beautiful as well
Totally agree John - Bruges is a beautiful city! Thanks so much for watching and following along - more cities to come! I’ve also heard great things about Ghent - will get that on the to do list!
Love Bruges and went on Princess last year having not been since a city break about 25 years ago. Going again soon but might go to Ghent instead, not sure yet. The beer wall bar is good fun.
oooohhhh Bruges! In all these years I've never been, but have heard so many good things about it, and everyone I know who has ever been has had nothing but good to say about visiting it. Yes, I'm only just now getting through your year at sea LOL "Euro rail prices"....?? Are rail prices so much higher in Scotland then around the rest of the EU? I mean, I remember living in London being stupid-expensive, but don't recall much about cost in Scotland. Anyway...I'll go back to the video now :-) (I do not know how you are surviving on ships with 4K-6K people...*shudder* no no no noooo too many!!) All my cruises and trips for the most part have been down here in the southern Med -- I seriously need to start getting up north. Far too gorgeous! I missed the timing -- it seems you had a lot of time at that port?
I found rail prices in Europe to be so good, and also found the trains to be MUCH higher quality and more reliable! Ha, I can’t believe you’ve just found me now - I’m glad you have!! 😊
@@FraserAtSea Nah, actually found your channel a few weeks ago but only just now getting through your year! Already subscribed and joined and donated and all that jazz...yep keep forgetting you're not EU anymore ;-) Still, after just making my train reservations now for my upcoming QV voyage, I really think Italy is about keeping up with you guys up north ;-) *sigh* I'm so behind on your vlogs...okay back to it! LOL (I noticed you've slowed down your speech over the last year hahaha)
Another great video Fraser! You mentioned you were on a P&O cruise 3 weeks ago in the Canaries, I wonder if we were on the same one - we were on Azura w/c 11/2 or maybe we were on the week later ;)
Great video tour. We've booked Cruise Express - a copycat transfer company operating from just outside cruise terminal. £17 each return using fee free card direct to Bruges 👍
Hey Fraser, very much enjoyed this particular vlog, and will definitely trying to follow your footsteps in a few weeks when we are on Virtuosa, so will absolutely get to Bruges. Like you, the only time I have been is with school, and the chocolate coffee sounded AMAZING! I think I will have to take clothes with elasticated waistbands, or lycra mix material though with all the calories haha. talking of which, is the pizza just available in the buffet on Virtuosa or is there a pizza bar type thing like on princess anywhere? and one last question before I let you go ha.. do you film your vlogs on a smartphone, and if so... what tripod/selfie stick tope of thing do you have please? cant wait to see your next vlog..as always very informative...Terry
Ha, I know the feeling - I’m nervous for my 2023 cruise schedule with my food intake…!! The pizza is in the buffet - it’s right at the front as soon as you walk in - usually pizza on the right, then burgers etc on the left - always go right! :) I usually film on my iPhone 13 Pro - they can now film in HD and 4K, so they produce decent quality video now actually! Re sticks - my walking stuff is all just me holding it, but my room stuff is just a Bluetooth tripod from Amazon - no multi million pound equipment here! Hope you enjoy Bruges - let me know how you get on!
@@FraserAtSea Haha - I always say, ill loose what I gain on one cruise, in time for the next one, and its a never stopping merry go round isnt it ha. I have the 13pro max, and it is very good, as you say, and thats very impressive that the walking stuff is you holding the phone at arms length! I thought you must be using some kind of Selfie stick! Haha, absolutely no need to spend a fortune, the phone itself costs enough haha. Ill have a look on amazon for a tripod, Ive been able to find ones for a go pro etc, but not an iPhone - ill recheck And cant wait to hear your next cruise schedule updates. And YES, I shall always be turning right in the buffet ( well, right first, then if I have the room, maybe have a little snoop to the left also haha take care, and thanks Fraser...Terry
I’m surprised you didn’t take Cruise Express from right outside the Port Terminal. It cost €20 last Summer and I was in the centre Bruges in 20 minutes. I have a video on my channel showing how simple it was.
I will be going in the cruises in Oct. for the Cruise Express. do we need to purchase Do they accept credit card? Thank you for the nice video and the Cruise Express information.
@@ALifeintheParks I saw some people said when they return back to the cruises terminal. There were 20 buses and they were waiting for returned bus. He was luckily to catch the last bus. But 4 people did b=not make it. I will arrive on Sunday there may be a lot of local people to visit Bruges. Can any one caught the cruises Express on Sunday? I don't mind to take a 7:30am bus and return at noon. But just want to have enough time to back to the ship.
I have yet to work out why all the cruise companies bus people to Blankenberge when either of the two Zeebrugge stations (Dorp on a weekday, Strand on a weekend) are within walking distance of the cruise terminal. There has to be a reason, but it eludes me. I hope it's not just that they are determined to extract some kind of revenue from everyone.
Oh, I didn’t know this was an option - very good spot! Will need to remember this for future reference - always good to save a few £££ for beer money…!!

Ah, thanks for following along - it’s SUCH a beautiful city, isn’t it? Crazy to find it’s so easy to access from the cruise port - I’m a big fan!
Loved the little ice rink before the station. Great work as always.
Thank you! Also, the little ice rink is so cool, isn’t it? They hosted curling competitions on there!
Enjoyed this! Loved the tour. Looked like a great day in port!
Hello! 👋🏼 It sure was - thanks so much for watching!
Well done making the train on time 🙂 enjoying this series. Thank you.

So how is it possible that people get off the ship and then more people arrive on the ship to stay
This happens on lots of MSC cruises - people check in and out most days!
