Indeed, I wish I had his videos 30 years ago. Now understand why mother who passed away 8 years ago could not stop smoking. I used to scold her for lacking the volition to stop destroying her health. In fact, following her mother's death by her co-wife's brother with an active complicity of their husband, she and her elder sister had to be taken forthwith to their maternal uncle who then took care of them. Mother was about 3 or 4 years old! She told me she must have started smoking by age of 5 but had her mother been alive, she would not have even thought if it in the first place. Although she died at a ripe age of almost 90 years old, she never forgave her father for failing to spare her mother's life. She died with a broken heart because two bas......ds had deciced to screw up their lives. Mother, I am really sorry I failed to understand how terrible the untimely demise of your mother had a negative impact on your life. 😢😢😢😢
Dr. Chidi, What advice do you have for folks who still bear the physical marks of childhood abuse, and who are constantly reminded down through the ages about those visible marks and scars ? Forgiveness has take place, but the agony of those childhood injuries are fresh each time one asks certain question. How does one not get stressed in those circumstances? Sincerely, Just want to know

Did he say ANYWHERE in this lecture exactly HOW to let go & forgive? We have not ALL had the same level of adversity. Would the doctor laugh if knew his patient's child had been raped & murdered? Does exercise, doing something nice for someone or talking about the pain take it away? I don't think so. You could be a Mother Teresa, an Olympiand athlete & talk about it ad nauseum until, but if you are an empathic person you will feel that pain for the rest of your life. We are NOT all the same!
By giving your pain to God, will start the process. No one is asking you to forget, but to transfer that energy into something positive. It starts with professional help, inner healing practice (meditation or prayer or both), go for a walk, get some sun. Allow yourself time to be happy even when you are in pain. It takes time, but put into practice. I hope you find your inner peace!
Forgiving doesn't mean what was done makes it OK. God says forgive and ye shall be forgiven ❤ we all have sinned. Of course not to the same degree. We want to be forgiven as well. 🙏
@annemccarron2281 Sorry about your loss, experience. Jesus taught tus to pray..."forgive us our sins AS we forgive those who trespass against us" this means that the little we forgive, the little God also forgives. The more we forgive, the more God forgives. It may be difficult but once you ask The Holy Spirit to help u forgive...He will do it for you. Unforgiveness is continued sin... We can think God does not hear our prayers...but bcz He is holy, He cannot hear when there is sin ( iniquity is continued sin)...Isaiah 59:1-2 Jesus said in Mark 11:25,26 when u stand praying, when u hold anything against anyone forgive them so that your father in heaven forgives u your sins" Unforgiveness is a door the devil uses to gain access to you...

Does forgiveness remove the pain of the experience?

The how starts with making a decision to forgive.
At least he mentioned that no one should judge others. Because we don't know why they are that way.
Can someone put this Dr email on line we need him in my country
