    Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!! Exactly the information I was missing. I'm a northern gardener, but the way you've broken down this information (including the temperature effects on germination and stem lengths with warming temps) makes it so helpful to apply to my own unique growing conditions! Any chance of a similar style seed talk on Bells of Ireland and other less straight forward flower crops? Layne, you do such a great job interviewing Lisa and presenting her experience and wisdom in a great educational style! Thank you for all you provide for us!!!

    I asked The Gardener’s Workshop Flower Farmer page to be a member so I could learn the Bupleurum trick. I answered truthfully that I am not a flower farmer, so I guess that’s why the group hasn’t accepted me. Understandably. So is there a facebook page for The Gardener’s Workshop enthusiastic gardeners such as I ? Thank you to Lane in reaching out to the home gardeners as well as the flower farmers.

    Hello, thanks for the step by step on this. Question about the hardening off period on the carport that Lisa talks about. Is that a typical hardening off process with gradually acclimating to more direct sunlight and wind exposure and bringing the seedlings back inside each day? It sounded like when they get moved to the carport they stay out there overnight from day one. Is that correct? Also, is your carport covered? I have a covered porch that get afternoon sun and I'm wondering if the conditions are similar to your carport.

    • @LayneAngelo
      @LayneAngelo 11 місяців тому +1

      Hello! I would recommend checking out episode 26 on hardening off. We described Lisa's carport setup in detail, and - as you mentioned - once the seedlings go out on her carport, they pretty much stay there (unless there is an unusual weather event that results in them being temporarily brought back in). Hope that helps, and thanks so much for watching! Have a lovely day 💚🤗💚

    When the seed tray is on the floor germinating, approximately what temp do you think that area is? What temp do they like to germinate at? Trying to find the best spot for this, my basement is around 60, my grow room is about 65 - 70.

    Does bupleurum dry well? I am always looking for flowers and plants that I can use as dried flowers. I am a new flower farm, and I do not always sell all my flowers yet. I find that drying what does not sell gives me a second chance to sell my flowers in the fall with dried flower arrangements and crafts.

    How long after planting outside are they ready to harvest?

    • @LayneAngelo
      @LayneAngelo 11 місяців тому

      Hello! The time from seeding to maturity for our favorite variety (‘Green Gold’) is typically around 80-90 days. Keep in mind that this can vary based on growing conditions and stage of harvest and does not apply to overwintered plants. Thanks so much for watching, and have a fabulous day! 💚🤗💚
