Hi guys. I know I'm late, but I looked at secret of mana again (also because of the music) here are a few clarifications: 1. Popoi is in English and also (I'm not quite sure) Japanese male. In German, however, she is female 2. many names have been misspelled in Wikipedia. So don't believe everything that is written there 😉 3. When mana disappears, the goblins also disappear. They don't really die, but they are no longer there 4. The mana dragon (ore mana beast) is not Flamie's mother or Flamie himself. It is a creature that is fused with all the monsters. So a creature that the gods created to actually ONLY destroy the fortress. But since the dragon is too strong, he can also destroy the whole world by destroying the fortress… I hope I was able to clarify a few things 😃 Greetings from Liechtenstein 🇱🇮
I literally got to the end five minutes ago and Primm didn’t have the 1 HP I NEEDED TO ENHANCE THE MANA SWORD. So I told myself I beat the game. Here I am.
I really don't understand how players are doing this, stop that cheap endlessly spamming magic on bosses maybe? It's not impressive. The Mana Beast is immune to all spells anyway being as *It is Mana itself* and they made the mana magic cost 1 mp, you guys didn't have a walnut like really lol?
Same here. How the hell was I supposed to know I was supposed to grind levels for the freaking tree? This and the fact that like, half the game was rushed and borderline unfinished at times and has crappy hit detection makes me really dislike this game. I don't know why it's considered one of the classics, personally.
@@Tessdust Terranigma doesnt have a sad ending at all...you just need to understand that only the dark side of the hero died whereas the light side survived and returned (the one who knocked on the door at the end) Took me some time to understand the whole dark/light plot though...
Well I didnt found the ending too sad at all. At least Mana, and with it the Sprite, is returning to the world...even if it may take a while...thats what I got from the story. The only sad thing was that Dyluck commited suicide. The Mana Beast however was very interesting, cause even if it was the final boss, it was more on the good side. Other than the Lich and his companions.
If you're meaning your 2nd/3rd member of party, the Sprite character. The basics of what I found is this: "Even though both the Mana Beast and the fortress were stopped, there wasn't enough Mana left for any creature of Mana to be able to interact with the prime world. Thus, the sprite disappears."
@@treksta2009 With the current prime world she existed in, is low or depleted of mana once that final battle took place. She is in essence transported to a another time or place, where there is enough mana for her race to just exist, if only for a few of her race. I dont know the details of it all. Going on theory at this point.
I love the game, but this ending is not as great as the overall game. Why the hell at the last minute you have to kill Flamie? Man, Dyluck has died the minute before and the sprite would soon desappear. Too many important losses.
Well, it's never said that its YOUR flamie. It appears to be an adult one, sent by the Mana Tree when Thanatos began the activation of the Mana Fortress under the assumption you failed. It would have been nice if they included Flamie in the credits sequence though.
This was a running theme in the early installments of the Mana series, the first game Final Fantasy Adventure also features losses of two pivotal characters, namely Amanda and Marcie. It was kind of a drag and I still occasionally get choked up whenever I get to the point when those 2 characters die. Interestingly enough, they basically did the exact same ending credit sequence in this that was in Final Fantasy Adventure.
Patrick Foxchild :Oh but Popoi does die because when he said that he’ll fade away from existence also cease to exist means dead according to the Wikipedia which makes you wrong about Popoi being alive.
My favourite game as a child, played this on so many levels
Beat this game after Final Fantasy 3 and its ending full of hope.
This devastated me emotionally.
R.I.P. Dyluck 😭😭😭 And goodbye “CORY” 😔
This was the best Game in my youth. Thank you very much Arwed! :')

I like when you kill the dragon, and he turns into a piece of paper.
Its the saddest ending to a great story ..
pls play terranigma..

@@raxfox2394 It still sad he came back to visit the girl he loved 🥰
so many feels ;(
Press F for Popoi
Though Undine's attack did sufficiently slay Dark Lich. True.
he has 6,666 HP (in the european version it has 6,667 sust to not make others crazy)
wait am i stupid now?.. flamie is the mana beast?
It's Flammie's mom and she doesn't take too kindly to Mana Fortress trying to wipe Mana out.
Ah I always thought you see the Sprite as a ghost and not just a shadow
GNOME ATTACK ON THIS BOSS. YOU WOULD HAVE DOUBLED THE HP DRAIN.
magic was soo op in that game x), but it was awsome
i play it when i was 4 years old
FLAMIE NO!!!!
Is it weird I cried at the ending
Probably
It _is_ 1 of the Best games ever made. Xenoblade,, lol?? What's that?? Secret of Mana is the OG King.
Always thought Lumina worked best on Thanotos, as is his weakness. Undine worked for ya, right on.
i love nintendo by this

sprite is dead , it explains that when the mana tree power is at stake. he(the sprite) will be disappeared or being died.
Ahh... the good old when you could really whack some stuff.
What does the ending mean??
Why is he alone??

who is that sitting In the tree at the end?
The Sprite in ethereal (ghost form).
Popoi , the character you use
Its so fucked.. i refuse to hurt Flammie.. =( =(
Peeblers have invaded their village
Damn monster is weak to Lumina!
Shouldn't be, it's immune to all mana spells being as it's mana itself. Only the Mana Sword can hurt it.
Wait..nevermind you're right I do remember that lul, that's surely a bug.

cool
DARK LICH DUBSTEP
So sad they have to kill flamie. I was so sad
Flammie and the Sprite too.
(he dies when Mana Dragoon is killed).
Kimmysho N yet no one gives a damn about killing Dyluck
That wasn't Flammie, though...
That was a Mana Beast, biologically the same specie than Flammy.
And the Sprite didn't die, it just went to another universe or something
OMG I LOVE THIS GAME i got to 134 122 122
Everyone cries about flamie and no one about Popoi
Why
Popoi =(
'cause popoi didn't die! he told you what was going to happen, and you were more prepared. Having to kill a flamie? That came out of nowhere.
Patrick Foxchild :Oh but Popoi does die because when he said that he’ll fade away from existence also cease to exist means dead according to the Wikipedia which makes you wrong about Popoi being alive.
The ending kinda sucked...
Yeah I was not too satisfied with the ending in part 1.
