How to Sew a Bluff Patch Pocket

In this video I show you how to make a patch pocket without topstitching. Such type of pocket has name bluff pocket becouse it looks as if it’s glued on fabric of garments.
The bluff patch pocket looks like an usual patch pocket but sew it is very hard. Before sew the bluff patch pocket you need to have skills. Look my video and I hope you can sew the bluff patch pocket accurat and easyly.

Thank you!! I have some work pants that need pockets but can't be obviously cargo pockets. I'm going to try this week. I do want to ask, is the pocket 2 layers of fabric? I may have missed it. Just got a sewing machine for hemming my own pants and found I really enjoy it, trying some projects.

No, in one layer, why two? But, I would not advise starting with such pockets.

No, this is a very complex technology, but you can try.

I wonder if this would work on a square patch pocket. Maybe I’ll just round the corners.

I have not tried it, but it seems to me that it will be very difficult to do it neatly.

@@sewway I saw it done on another video (after I posted this message). The bottom is sewn, and then the sides. The corners aren’t completely sewn down on the sides, but could be hand stitched. There might be instances in which this was necessary.
