I go to your videos for just about everything I do. One thing I’m still having trouble with is, retouching scratches with paint. How do you go about that?
Nice work! Did you use the exacto knife before removing the tape from the black paint?
Thanks, I did not, but I do sometimes when I have to build up a lot of layers of paint just to be safe!
Amazing bro🔥💪🏾
Appreciate you man! Gonna keep it coming if you dig quick overviews like this 👌
How do i get the E book. Btw im a huge Icecream customer from the cobblers. Thankyou for these tight videos
Great video as always! Just curious, what tape do you use? It creates amazing clean lines!
Thanks, it's more so the technique, but the actual tape we used for the 2nd color (black) is: amzn.to/2nraU7x
Great job as always. i have a question. For the pours on the mid soles do you apply thick coats of paint over the pours and then sand down that area to smooth out the mid soles. I've watched all your videos and read the free e book.
Thanks Wilfredo! Yes, as we cover in the video and e-book, we use paint mostly! But when the pores are very bad and cover a lot of the midsole, we then use our scratch resistant sealer in those areas and sand after each coat to smooth it out! Appreciate the support, what did you think of the e-Book?
@@ForResalePurposesOnly The e book is great. When i have the money for the whole bundle im gonna buy. Its a must.
@@wilfredorosario5994 glad to hear that man, and definitely worth the investment! I appreciate the support as always and can't wait to see some uploads from YOU!
Are the flat paints.
What homemade detergent can I use on white cement 3 in a mesh bag in delicate cycle in my washing machine?? Plz help! 😊
Shout out good Will 😂😂
Hey, great video! Just curious, what brand of finisher do you use on the midsoles after painting? Ive been using krylon matte finish but i didnt know if there was any better product.
I usually don't use an actual "finisher" unless they're gloss, in that case I use angelus "satin" finish, it's the closest to factory midsole gloss I've found, and yes the satin is glossier than their high gloss 👍 if it's matte, I use a coat of Scratch Resistant Sealer to finish and give it that natural matte look!
@@ForResalePurposesOnly Thanks for the reply! Ill definitely give that a try.
i got a j3 powder blue , it is pretty worn out ... the mid sole is taking off , but i like it so much .... i mean , how for a restauration ?
Great video as always. Not sure if you have ever done a Jordan 11 patent leather repaint/swap. I’m working on a pair of 09 space jam 11s which are in good shape besides one shoe, the previous person decided to do a shitty repaint so I had to scrape it away with a dryer cloth and that left deeper scratches than I thought. Like I said the shoe is in great shape besides the patent on one shoe, I also have OG all for the shoe which I why I want the do it. It’s probably too much work but it’s something I just can’t let go of doing until I find a solution. Haha
Thanks man! Usually when patent leather has cracked, ripped, or torn, it's usually not worth the headache to fix it. Without fully replacing it (cutting, sewing, etc) all of the 'cosmetic' finishes will never leave it looking "factory" again :(
RaleighRestorations ahh well that sucks. Thanks for the response
Show the products you use on the heel tabs! That's what I wanted to see...dang. very nice custom/restoration, excellent
Just acetone, a little Ice Cream, and some paint! Sorry for glossing over that!
Did you whiten the back tab as well?
Just a cleaning on those!
@@ForResalePurposesOnly Quick question for you.. Have you ever experimented using light weight flexible fillers on small damaged areas of midsoles? I just tried using glazing putty on jordan 3's and it came out quite well actually to smooth it out just required a bit of sanding. Curious if you've ever experimented with any other products.
Did you use the sealer
Where'd you get the thing that the shoe was spinning on?
It was so long ago, I believe turtlefeathers.net if they're still around!
Could u tell me what could to mix for summit white for the Jordan 10 I’m back
Don't see an E-book, nice restoration
Unfortunately due to a non-compete we signed, we had to discontinue the e-books and mentoring :(
@@ForResalePurposesOnly damn I was looking for a way to paint midsole too
@raleighrestorations where did you get that dope rotating stand?
Turtle feathers (angelus supplier online)
@@ForResalePurposesOnly awesome. Thank you.
What’s ur thoughts on Angelus cement glue?
Tried it once and prefer (and believe) Barge super stik is better! Just my opinion though. That cement glue you can be found here (amzn.to/2ooHBD1)!
Do a video on suede dye
We have an entire ebook about dyes including suede, nuvur, durabuck, soles, mesh, prime knit etc! bit.ly/33HRhrw
Must the shoes lie on their side in the ice cream factory?
Rule of thumb is to have them positioned so the area you need iced/de-oxidized is facing parallel to the light source. Example: Soles, prop them up under the toe box so the sole is facing flat up. If it's the sides of a shoe (example Jordan 1 sole/midsole), lay it on its side, then flip over to do the other side!
@@ForResalePurposesOnly Thank you! Also, do you prefer to wash shoes by hand, or machine wash in mesh bag?
@@MATH_PLZ by hand for sure!
Ice cream doesn’t work on heel tabs ?
It does to an extent. You won't see crazy improvements like icy soles and rubber midsoles etc as the heel tab is plastic. Ice Cream was formulated to remove oxidation from rubber and not plastic, but will still help some!
Guys your cream turned my sole grey instead of white what went wrong?
Shoot us an email or DM @RaleighRestorations and we'll see what went wrong!
RaleighRestorations nvm it went away eventually thanks
New to your channel, do you guys do custom work, shipping shoes to you of course..
We do and have for years, however currently we're building a new facility/warehouse in Miami and are not accepting new orders yet. We hope to be up and operational (pending anymore corona virus related delays). Our Instagram will be the first place we make the announcement so stay tuned for that! My business got acquired and then ran into the ground 😔
@@ForResalePurposesOnly 😱😱😱 so you don't restore shoes anymore?? 😫
@@sumplepurple92 unfortunately I "hung my shoes up" after that all happened 😞
@RaleighRestorations Nooo!! 😱😞 I've been trying to reach u for years, because I have some kobes that I want to restore because they meant soo much in my life, because my mom and dad gave them to me on my birthday.
@RaleighRestorations and you were the only one who inspired confidence in me when I saw your clean job restoring shoes.
So much wasted water.
