Good overview mate. I know exactly what you mean about the Spektrum IC3 equipment. I had the same issue when I bought my SCX10-3 Bronco. The Spektrum intelligent charger and a couple of Spektrum smart batteries were too expensive after I'd just spent over 500 notes on the RC!. It's a great system and I'd like one eventually, but for now I use an adaptor too because all my batteries have XT60's. I look forward to your Capra's maiden run Tibs.
Exactly Derek. After spending so much on the truck, and then i had to spend another 100 on batteries, so there is no way i am spending even more money on batteries and then also on another charger. It would end up nearly a grand for the full set up lol
I took it for a main den run a few days ago at a local quarry, but it was quite damp and slippery on the rocks. A couple of us are going to the Cow and Calf in Ilkley on Sunday, so i will take it and give it a right good run
Thanks a lot dude. I had it out on a quarry a couple of days ago, as a total stock truck. But a couple of us are going to a crawl spot another popular crawl spot on Sunday, so i will give it another good run whilst there
Thanks a lot Gary. I think Axial make a lot of good stuff and crawlers so i am opting this Capra is no exception. I know my Axial 6 wheeler is brilliant. I am looking forward to getting use to this truck and the 4 wheel steering. Thanks buddy 👍
Very nice! Been waiting for this video! 👌👍 you need a Batman utility belt to carry a bunch of those little batteries on a long trail run? 😂 My DX3 TX didn’t come with a thumb steer!? That’s awesome Tibs! 👌suspension seems pretty silky too? Will it turn the rear-steer with the steering input? Or just on the switch? Really nice rig bro! Top Stuff! 👊
Hello buddy. I think it just runs the rear steer with the button. 4 batteries i had to buy. I couldn’t believe that the little batteries that i have for my boats were to big lol. Ended up costing me another 100 pounds for batteries 😕. I took it for a first run the other day at a quarry. I was not very impressed to be honest, the tyres had very little grip although it was a bit damp to be fair. A couple of us are going to a popular crawl spot on sunday, a place that i have not been too before. I intend fitting the other tyres to it for this run and hopefully it will perform much better. I have also bought some sticky weights that i am hoping to stick on the invoice of the wheels
Thanks a lot Mogg. A couple of us are going crawling at the weekend at a place called The Cow and Calf. I never been before but it is quite popular with crawler groups
Nice buddy picked a good colour 😁👍 obviously I kinda knew you was getting one 😂 like you say not a great deal like that out there, glad you made ur mind up😂 😊🙋♂️
Thanks Woody. Yeah, not a lot of choice at all. So i decided to go for this one and see how it goes. It’s a lot smaller than what i thought it would be though
Great review mate. It was interesting to discover that IC3 and EC3 connectors were compatible, I never knew that. When Axial switched to IC3 it really put me off as I prefer either Tamiya or Deans connectors. You're right about the size too - surprisingly small, the Wraith is much larger than this isn't it ? Look forward to how those tyres fare on it's first run...👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻.
Thanks buddy. Yes, the connectors are comparable. I discovered this after buying the SCX6. That had the ic/5 on it and i use esc/5 on it. The only difference is that the IC plugs have a small metal bit in between the 2 connectors bullets. But i am not too bothered about smart batteries, the controller tells you the percentage of power left in your battery, but you dont really need it do you lol, when the battery runs out you change it, simple as that lol
Hi there Tibster, the Axial Capra looks the part, but is it going perform ? Looking at how you were squeezing those tyres, they looked a touch hard. The limitation of the battery compartment may not prove too much of an issue, as battery technology moves on. So amazing with the 4WS system, I was looking at a model with 4WS, thinking how cool. Take care and best wishes to you and the family 😁😊😉
It's a nice looking rig, but does peeve me with the small batteries. I have the Wraith that takes a full size battery, down side it's a heavy top cage so pro's and con's. The steering is cool like a real one, independent steering very posh. The tyre tread does look a little hard and you are right at that price they should have good ones. Looking forward to the run over rocks.
I couldn’t believe it when my small boat batteries were too big lol. It has cost me another 100 quid for 4 small batteries 😕. I took it for a maiden run at a local quarry the other day, it was a bit damp to be fair and i was not too impressed. I will upload the video soon as i always like to show stock runs. But a couple of us are going out on sunday to a good crawl spot, i will fit the other tyres to the Capra and take it with me and see how it performs
@@tiborvon Those odd battery sizes a real pain, adding another £100 to the price and then not too happy with the performance. I hope the tyre change makes it better.
Hello buddy. I assume they are on the right way Carl. It’s how they came. They were already fitted, but i will check !!!!! I took it for a first run at a local quarry the other day, i was not very impressed to be honest. To be fair, the rocks were damp and a little slippy. But we are hoping to a place called The Cow and Calf on Sunday, a popular crawl spot. I will change the tyres to my other ones and see how it performs
Nice one 👍,,not sure about all that fassing about getting into electronics and battery being an specific size, for money you would have thought easy access, lol also as you said all spectrum fancy stuff,,,would it be less power too ,if battery smaller, and what size motor, esc 🤔,,am like an little kid, WHY,WHY WHY ,🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍
The electrics are fine Ian. The Esc can run 2s or 3s batteries, pretty standard stuff for crawlers. The servos are 15kg and it has a 35t motor in it. The batteries are 1600 mah. I have now bought 4 batteries and these should easily last a day out crawling. As for the fancy stuff, you dont need it mate. You can run normal batteries in. It just as good. I think it has a small battery compartment because the truck itself is quite small really.
@@tiborvon that ain't bad tibs, 15kg servo 35t motor, yep, agree don't need all the fancy stuff, well maybe just a little bit now n again lol,🤣,,kanyon v2 has 36t 550 brushed motor in it,,oh tibs, do you knows what wheel size is the kanyon 🤔? Some say 2.2 or 2.0 ,,your help would be very much appreciated 😁😁👍
I never had a Kanyon Ian. All i can suggest, measure the plastic wheel diameter of your Mauler tyres, as these are 2.2, and compare to the Kanyon ones. I dont have Mauler anymore either, but i looked on Modelsport and it states Mauler tyres are 2.2, but doesnt say anything about the Kanyon tyres
Fantastic overview Tibor. Excellent looking rig my friend. Very nice video! 🥰👍👍

You know we don't do much crawling but that rig looks awesome, just watched the cow and calf vid and see this in action. Top vid as usual Tibs 👍
Thanks a lot dude. Yeah, i am loving this new truck, i made a couple of mods on it for the Cow and Calf video. Thanks for the nice comment 👍
Great video my rc friens, great review and nice truck 😀
Thank you for the nice comment my friend. I like my new crawler 😊
The Capra is very cool, I like the 4ws and the buggy body with the live axles👍🏾
Thanks Paul. I wanted this style of crawler as an upgrade to my Mauler, but there is not that much choice to choose from.
Awesome RC to your collection! Looks cool! Like!
Thank you very much my friend. I am looking forward to taking it for a first run soon. 👍
Great review bro very nice👊😎🇬🇧👍
Thanks Leon. Am looking forward to getting use to driving a 4 wheel steer 👍

With the rear steer!
Very nice just get a couple batteries, my protec battery I use in my lcg, is the bomb
