Love my Sea To Summit pocket shower. Fill it with warm water, hang it from a branch after hoisting it with some paracord and stand on a bit of tarp while you shower. Don't need much pressure, holds ample amount of water to shower thoroughly. Packs away nice and neat and compact. Had the old one you had, wasn't impressed with it at all, best thing g you did was get rid of it. Thanks for sharing buddy
The Helio seems like a Pain to fill and pack up, also very hard to dry the inside, could run into mold/mildew issues, IMO. Sea to summit has a wide opening for easy fill, easy to empty and easy to dry.
+snakemonkey555 After using this a few times, I have to agree, it's a royal pain in the ass to fill unless you have a hose. Most sinks are too short to fit this under the facet. And if you leave the helio out in the sun, it doesn't heat up much at all so you really need to heat up water and pour the heated water in it, which isn't easy without burning yourself. It's not too bad to empty but you can't get all the water out and it's impossible to dry the inside. I still love having pressurized water though.
Thank you for the excellent hands on comparison. Like you said; Helio: car camping Sea/Summit Pocket: back packing. I like that little mat thing from Helio too. I think that would be handy both car and backpacking-taking up minimal room. Well done, "TopShots".
Get a garden sprayer. 5 bucks. doesn't collapse though so wouldn't be good for backpacking. But I don't know any backpackers who would carry a shower that big.
Beth Ann yeh, I thought I might take it backpacking but there’s no way. I don’t even take it canoe camping. I have been thinking about getting a garden sprayer myself, just have to figure out how to put a hose on it.
You can prime your water filter with a half cup of clean water to get it is work more quickly. Remove the filter, dump in your half cup, reload and pump away.
If situation is right, such as a clean lake or stream, maybe you could immerse the Helio in water, rather than filling it with a hose. Or, siphon the water into the Helio using a small tube. It would all depend on the situation.
I like the NEMO Helio Pressure Shower: best. You can wash all the body parts, dishes, and other things. Hmm I was wondering if you could disconnect the shower head from the hose and connect a Sawyer Mini to it to turn it into a fast filtration system? If so it could do double duty as a shower and a way to get access to a lot of clean safe drinking water in a reasonable amount of time. Good then there's a need to have a supply of clean water not only to drink but also for medical needs in the wild.
I don't think a leak is at all an issue. After all it is a shower. Good products are available for sealing seams. Sea to summit is an excellent. I have returned a couple of items for refund or replacement with no hassle. .
Is it possible to use the Pocket Shower to fill the Nemo Helio Pressure Shower? If so, you could have it as a pocket funnel. It just depends on if the nozzle fits in the hole. You could even hang it up from a low lying branch or something so you don't have to stand there holding it.
That's a great idea! I actually found this too heavy and bulky for anything but car camping, also it doesn't warm up much if left in the sun, so I have been filling it with a hose and it lasts pretty long. I love it for washing dishes at camp but it's always too cold to take a comfortable shower. I need to get a new Pocket Shower that doesn't leak. But yeh - if I filled the pocket shower with water, let it get hot, then filled the Helio with that water, then took a shower, that'd work pretty well. Thanks for the idea!
the sea to summit weight only a few ounces. enjoy your wet wipes which probably weigh more than the sea to summit shower. i will enjoy a hot shower instead.
No reason to be snippy. While the Coleman and Nemo seem to be better suited for a longer term campsite or car camping or RVing, the Sea to Summit one is perfect for those backpackers/thruhikers/campers who don’t want to smell like ass, like you apparently do.
Buy or make a collapsible bucket to fill the Nemo. Or just use the stuff sack as a bucket. Adapt! Improvise! Overcome! If you factor in price the ol' Sun Shower blows away the other two. My favorite is the Platypus shower. It's just a bottle cap with holes melted in it, screw it onto a water-filled soft bottle and hold it over your head. For more pressure just squeeze harder. Works fine. I can't BELIEVE people actually pay a hundred dollars for that Nemo. I'd certainly shuck out ten bucks for a pump-up garden sprayer before I did that.
Brim: me either . However I was shopping for a garden sprayer the other day. Couldn't find the 10 dollar one at big box. Maybe a flea market or yard sale.
Passionate. It works for certain applications, just not for what he had in mind. Car camping, canoe camping yes. Hike-camping with a burro or llama, yes. Backpacking no.
Umm... mine has stopped holding air - so you might not want to get one. I should make a new video with long-term usage info. You can hang it from the strap on top.
@@MTBIKEXC Oh thank you I just saw one not great for hiking but camping and emergency would be good he took a weed killed sprayer 2 gallon for $15 then boulder a attachment after removing nozzle attached it and used a clap the added a sprayer from a kitchen sink he sad it probably cost him $25.00 that's if you used the 1 gallon for $9.00. I'm trying that one for emergencies! Thanks agsin.
I was originally thinking I'd take this backpacking and canoe camping but it's way too bulky and heavy. If I had taken it backpacking and was filling it with lake or river water, I thought I'd need to filter it. The only way I ever fill it now is with a garden house from a faucet with city water. Pouring water in from another container just doesn't work.
I think the reason why they recommend clean water is because it has way less chance of bacterial/mildew growth as these bags are hard to completely dry out while hiking.
Also, for an "all purpose" soap, you should check out Dr. Bronner's (the liquid castile version)... Can use it for body and dishes... Less to pack. www.lisabronner.com/dilutions-cheat-sheet-for-dr-bronners-castile-soap/
"I'm not sure what this is for" isn't very helpful. Probably should have figured that out before the video. Why didn't you dry run this without the camera?
Here is my review of the sea to Summit shower. First off it's small portable and useful when properly cared for it will last for years just remember to fold it up correctly take your time it gives you a 7 minute shower where you can adjust the flow rate. From a minimalist standpoint when backpacking camping or survival it's the way to go less weight and serves the purpose. A low-cost almost free alternative is get a 2 or 3 L soda bottle drill some holes into it and there you have a shower free. The Coleman and the Helios are big bulky and add weight to your backpack for Basecamp perhaps but when you're on-the-go weight is a consideration. This guy couldn't do a review if he had a road map go to the Swiss Hotel get a real life
What a shame...could not get it shipped to Puerto Rico from U.S.A...yet I get similar product from China for free. Frustrating. I want to buy American but most stuff I want is not shipped to Puerto Rico...How ironic.
Id take " Shit to the dumb it " rather than that new stuff. inexpensive, much smaller and still able to get warm shower and you can wash your clothes with it. the seams are easy to repair and maintain if you are careful enough . You put cold water first then pour scorching hot water from your stove to make warm water for shower . This idiot is just too clumsy and no common sense woth his life btw Every bit of move he makes on this video made me mad ....

Tip. Put a lil cold water into the bag first. Might help prevent leaking when you have a less dramatic heat change

snakemonkey555 Just run a very diluted bleach/water mixture through it.
That's an easy fix, just chop a piece of garden nose with the connector part and screw it on your faucet

For the missing handle on your zipper you can just insert a key ring and that makes a great handle.
Get a garden sprayer. 5 bucks. doesn't collapse though so wouldn't be good for backpacking. But I don't know any backpackers who would carry a shower that big.

Wow!.. that thing looks awesome... exactly what I've been looking for. Thanks so much for taking the time to review and upload this for us!..

Loving these camping item videos!

or u can just use a new bug sprayer and change fitting to a kitchen sink sprayer cost u about $25
Hello is expensive but has good pressure - I always have clean feet on rocks 😂👍
Thanks for the detailed and honest review.

Maybe a funnel would help?
Forgot to say thank you for the video. I wasn't familiar with this product. :)
+Lizard Lady Yes, funnel is pretty much a must with this thing I've found.

For one or two day backpacking trip using wet wipes should be enough.
Packing extra weight is not necessary.
cordelmar yep, it's too heavy for backpacking but it's great for car camping
the sea to summit weight only a few ounces. enjoy your wet wipes which probably weigh more than the sea to summit shower. i will enjoy a hot shower instead.
Dude.....You may want to think of camping at Ramada Inn.
Which tree is it in?

Mr tangent: very funny !
bro you made that seem so hard
Very interesting!!

just when I was about to ask what is that, where'd you get it from....then hear you say It's not working. ☺
Passionate. It works for certain applications, just not for what he had in mind. Car camping, canoe camping yes. Hike-camping with a burro or llama, yes. Backpacking no.
So how do you hang the Helio? Where can I buy one l, how much and how do you dry the inside do it doesn't meldew? Thanks for the broadcast!

Any issues with mold growing inside?
Surprisingly no mold.
Funnels are useful 🙂.
Strawberry: In top ten inventions of all time.
Thank you!
ya def says in the pocket shower don't boil water
do you really need to filter the water for your camp shower?
No, you don't need to filter it. You need clean water (free of sediment, etc.) but it doesn't have to be purified unless you plan on drinking it.

Kermit thee frog here
Roger Rennenger Haha, he DOES sound like Kermit!
Lol
👍
It's expensive there's other similar kinds for a lot less
"I'm not sure what this is for" isn't very helpful. Probably should have figured that out before the video. Why didn't you dry run this without the camera?
You nee to use this first before trying to demo it....

Your promoting a product you don't particularly agree or like, lol!
I'd rather stay dirty.. I'm lazy.
