I agree with Dee. They should do one where you're guessing if they only identify as gay/lesbian, straight, or bi (maybe pan - since you can like anyone regardless of gender identity), but that's about it. How is someone supposed to know if you are asexual, demisexual, queer, etc? Like what!?

I don't want to assume anyone's gender pronouns but if I don't know its not necessary for people to get offended and that happens. If a person misgenders you and you correct them but they do it again that's when it becomes disrespectful. One thing I see these days is that sometimes children are misgendered because of long or short hair. I've seen parents get offended when people mistakenly do that. That's not necessary. Just because the parent knows the child's gender doesn't mean other people won't get it wrong. My own brother got upset years ago because someone misgendered his boys. I tried to explain to him that at such a young age they could be mistaken for girls because of the length of their hair. But of course he didn't see my point because he was too offended. It's things like that, getting immediately offended that I take issue with. Its an honest mistake.
