Very interesting project! maybe less efficient than a regular boat, but way more cool! can't wait to see the first prototypes on water!

@@PioneerVisionStudio Thanks. It will be interesting to see how easy or difficult it is to power.

Wow! I did like the first version but the final one takes the cake! Nice job :)

Congrats on the creative concept! Inspiring.
May I give a suggestion: think about ways to test and validate the amount and distribution of center of masses involved on the full scale build. Also adding a proportional keel under the overall center of mass will help stabilize. This is all assuming you would build something close to human scaled, since its supposed to be paddle-powered.
    Keep moving mate. Good stuff!

@@abpetri Thanks, I appreciate it. I will definitely need to stabilize it. Maybe I use two pontoons and turn it into a trimaran, so I I'm not constantly falling over.

@@adrianinvents sweet! I'm sure this will be an incredible experience. Thank you for sharing the inspiration 🤟

it would need a crank shaft linkage across each of the parts..or a camshaft to bump each linkage in the way a row of pistons would move.

It's going to have cabling along the sides, for a tension based drive system. And it will be peddle powered. Pistons would look hella steam punk though.

Cool idea, i like it. Wonder how powerful it be once its scaled up and how it will be power (think solar panel and electric motor be cool, with motor using rotation movement to move the tail back and fourth.)

@@shanegibbens I appreciate it. I'm going to pedal power it with tension cables on the sides to contract and bend the tail.

I wonder, if the connecting sides should be fabric, and the linkage added after. As each section will need to have a lot of ballast, it will move through the water with quite a lot of inertia, and then become more efficient. The water caught between the sections moving with the boat.

@@Ki-Lessons Fabric is a great idea and allows me to build faster. I may go that route.
