    I love your channel so much! These videos have given me a lot more confidence and tips in my skating, I used to ride almost every day until I had a major surgery on my knees which made me unable to skate for around 3 years, I’ve only come back to it January this year… and having all of this amazing information from you is wonderful! Thank you so much 😊🩷💖

      That sounds fun! What kind of spins or groundwork do you do? I can do it but am looking for some variety

    I will have to build up to that! I can sort of shoot the duck, but i am 68......I can only shoot a few ducks each session. Ha!

    Me who can’t even transition yet, much less side surf, watching this video like I’ll be able to perform this move at any point in the next 3 years

      It’s always the little subtle bits that make such a big different. Hope this helps you unlock it.

    Ooosh just by looking at it I get the feeling my legs will detach from their hip sockets if I give it a go 🤣 I can see lots of stretching to practice first. Ive seem small kids trying the shoot the duck and emd up doing this entrance because they didn't hold the foot off yhe floor and I stood there in awe of their mobility. Unfortunately I didn't know about this full move to tell them how to keep going.
    And I liked the idea of shooting backwards. I keep trying the coffin backwards, why didn't I try something esier first???

      My hips were very angry with me the day after filming this. Definitely warm up first. 😂

    Hi Skates,
    I have a few questions:
    1) How come I fall backwards when I reach for the front of my skate in "shoot the duck"?
    2) I have noticed when I am "warmed up" meaning have been on the rink for an hour and a half, two hours, that after that point, I feel like superman on my skates? What I mean is it is so much easier to do the tricks I already know and add some emphasis on them (if you will) VS when I step onto the rink for the first time that skate session, I can't get out of my own way.
    3) Is it normal to feel cramping, tightness and slight discomfort on the sides of lower half of my legs, when first starting out each session? What causes that?

      Hi, so here goes;
      1, that is so annoying and so common. Really reach for the front of your skate or think of reaching forwards and putting more weight to the ball of your foot and front of the skate.
      2, I call this Bambi legs, that feeling that your skates just aren't quite under you, as you get more experienced that feeling starts to last less and less time.
      3, this is really common too, its just those skater muscles waking up again. You should find as you warm up that starts to go off to the point again once you skate more and more that feeling won't happen anymore.
      Have fun skating.
