    Thank you all so much for the support❤️If you follow the recipe, welcome to post pictures of it and tag me on instagram!!! Also here's some tips I've learnt from reddit comment to save you some time: sift the food dye powder with flour (which makes so much sense. It took me so much time mixing the powder into the dough. Would've been so much easier if it was mixed before head; also wear gloves to avoid stains on hands.

    • @Yetanotherfangirl_jf
      @Yetanotherfangirl_jf  3 роки тому +1

      I'm glad to hear it!! About the red yeast powder, I actually bought it on the internet, but this website only does orders and shipping in Taiwan. So I did some search on google and found some on amazon as well. If it's really difficult to get where you live, it's ok to substitute it with regular red powder food coloring (with a slightly darker color similar to Sukuna's finger). Hope this helps, and hope your finger cookies will turn out really well😄

    Hello hello hello!! Sorry to be a bother again😖 I just went to the grocery store a hour ago and I saw some maple syrup is that ok for the replacement of the honey?

    • @Yetanotherfangirl_jf
      @Yetanotherfangirl_jf  3 роки тому

      Hi! According to what I found on the internet I think you can! There is one recipe I found that uses maple syrup for moon cakes, so I think it should work, but I’ve never tried it before so I can’t guarantee 100% it will work exactly the same way as honey😅The texture and taste might end up being different. I would suggest firstly try using the same amount of maple syrup as the amount of honey listed in the recipe, then as you try to shape it, if it’s too dry add more syrup; and if it’s too wet add more flour/ powder. Hope it works well🤞🏻

    Hello! Is there a replacement for the fingernails?

  • @noras5829
    @noras5829 3 роки тому +1

    does there have to be a specific type of honey or can it be any type of honey?

    • @Yetanotherfangirl_jf
      @Yetanotherfangirl_jf  3 роки тому

      Any type of liquid honey should do. As long as it’s not solid (crystallized ones), it should be fine. There might be some subtle differences, but generally speaking, if you follow the amount in the recipe, and the dough is too dry, add more honey or butter, and if otherwise add more flour, until the texture is exactly like play dough. Good luck and have fun making it!!

    hi. can i just use food gel? or the color would not be that vivid if i use food gel alone?

    • @Yetanotherfangirl_jf
      @Yetanotherfangirl_jf  3 роки тому +1

      Hi. Unfortunately, since I’ve never used food gel I can’t really provide a helpful answer😅Sorry🙏🏻But I also tried a few time adding slightly more and more food coloring until I have the color I want. So I suppose if you are experienced with food gel and know what color it would normally turn the dough into, that should be a good substitution. I also searched a bit online and it seems like food gel gives a more intense color than liquid, so it’s suggested to not add too much of it. That’s all that I can provide🙂Hopefully you’ll have a result you like!

    Hello!! Im from the Philippines and i'm going to make these for my sister's bday..What can I replace with honey because its rare to find in supermarkets T^T

    • @Yetanotherfangirl_jf
      @Yetanotherfangirl_jf  3 роки тому +1

      Hi, in this case I would definitely suggest replacing it with "invert sugar syrup". The most traditional moon cake is actually made of invert syrup as well and honey is just an easier alternative. You'd have to go an extra mile to make it yourself a day before you make the cookies, but it only requires sugar, water, lemon, and baking soda, which should all be very easy to get in supermarkets. Here's a link to a video with the recipe of this invert syrup(there's translated English subtitle in UA-cam setting option): ua-cam.com/video/ijG7Yn96B-g/v-deo.html I hope this is helpful, and hope you have a really successful result and a great time celebrating your sister's birthday!!

    • @Yetanotherfangirl_jf
      @Yetanotherfangirl_jf  2 роки тому

      You mean instead of honey? Then the mixture would lack wet ingredient and have too much dry ingredient instead. I assume it’d be hard to shape it into dough. Plus honey is basically the main factor for the dough to be as shapable as play dough while not sticky to hand. So I personally wouldn’t replace honey with sugar.

    • @Yetanotherfangirl_jf
      @Yetanotherfangirl_jf  3 роки тому +2

      Yes, and it’s best if you have, or can make golden sugar syrup.The most traditional moon cake is made of golden syrup as well, honey is just an alternative. If you’d like to use other types of sugar syrup, from what I’ve read online it would work in theory, but the taste, texture, and appearance might be a bit different.

There's another type of mooncake called "snow skin mooncake", which allows you to dye and shape the dough as well but no need for oven or any heat source. Tho you'll need a special powder called "cooked glutinous rice flour". You might be able to find it in Asian markets. And you can easily find the recipe by googling it :D Hope this helps~
