      1. "I am the LORD your God; you shall not have strange gods before me"
Doesn't work with the constitution, and there is no moral learning from that commandment.
      2. "You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain"
Same... nothing to learn there that is interesting, unless one is religious and believes in a specific god.
      3. "Remember to keep holy the LORD’s Day"
How is that even a commandment? Nothing interesting there for kids to learn as a moral life compass.
      4. "Honor your father and mother", fair enough, but I guess parents should and do teach that, no need for a book.
      5. "You shall not kill"
Fair enough. But I guess that it's an obvious moral direction. But a government imposing this written on a wall while doing nothing to protect kids against murder... Not very credible.
      "Thoughts and prayers" right?
      6. "You shall not commit adultery"
What about no pornography at school? This disappears when there is erotic texts in the bible?
7 "You shall not steal." Again, all parents teach that. No need for a religious book for that.
      8. "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour."... Same, all parents teach that.
      9. "You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife."
Why the f would a kid have to read that. It's nuts...
      10. Y"ou shall not covet your neighbor’s goods." All kids are taught to not be jealous, to respect what belongs to others. And that's part of life's learning curve.
No need for a threat to go in hell to teach that.
I really don't see what it has to do in a class room. But a code of conduct that kids learn would be more adapted, and can be tailored to the age of the kids.... Not that absurdity. Nothing to do in a classroom.

The founding fathers had very fresh memories of the discrimination against various religions in Europe and the wars fought over them. They decided our government would have no official religion. When I was a kid, over here in Britland, we were all required to say 'The Lord's Prayer' every day at school assembly. We would be watched too, to make sure we were joining in properly. Hands together, heads down, everyone joining in and so on. If we didn't have our little hands pressed firmly enough together, if our tiny eyes weren't completely shut, or if the teachers thought we might be muttering our 'prayers' instead of properly enunciating each word, or didn't think we were saying the _right_ words, we would be punished.
      Guess what effect that had?
It made the words as dull and meaningless as the basic arithmetic tables we were also occasionally called upon to recite, with even less relevance to our daily lives and the world outside.
A 'pledge' that has to be repeated every single day, over and over, again and again, getting more dull and monotonous each time, is surely next to worthless?

    Some past history :
Stone v. Graham, case in which the U.S. Supreme Court on November 17, 1980, ruled (5-4) that a Kentucky statute requiring school officials to post a copy of the Ten Commandments (purchased with private contributions) on a wall in every public classroom violated the First Amendment’s establishment clause, which is commonly interpreted as a separation of church and state.
The First Amendment of the United States Constitution guarantees the separation of church and state. The Ten Commandments display requirement would violate the principle of religious neutrality.
Requiring the display would infringe on religious freedom. In fact, the Stone v. Graham case held that mandating the display is a form of government intrusion into the realm of personal religious beliefs. Public schools are supposed to be neutral environments that foster an inclusive atmosphere for all students. Many students adhere to other faiths or have no religious beliefs, and this would violate their rights.
