Totally agree the feedback system on eBay doesn't really work anymore. It used to be you would get feedback on everything, but nowadays I hardly ever get feedback from the buyers, if I sell 10 items I am lucky to get one feedback - I think eBay should automatically leave you positive feedback after a couple of months if you have not had any issues to better reflect your standing and quantity of sales. Also agree that you shouldn't be able to leave negative feedback until you have gone through the complaints process.
Totally agree that Ebay need to listen to the buyers over the whole issue of feedback. We certainly don’t give feedback if the buyer doesn’t leave it for us. I know ebay doesn’t like this, but we have learnt the hard way when we were leaving feedback first, We also had negative feedback over a golf glove that the buyer said was nothing like the description and he was so rude. We asked for photos and he provided them only to send us photos of a glove that wasn’t our one. We then asked ebay to remove the feedback as we could prove he was lying only to be told”The buyer has provided photos and therefore the feedback stands” We appealed this decision and low and behold the buyer won. We wrote a comment against the feedback so that other buyers could read what had happened for the buyer to send us a message saying “Whoops” Ebay has to stop letting the Buyer always be right because they aren’t. Rant over 😖
It definitely doesn't seem fit for purpose anymore, it's tough to see how allowing feedback in that manner is helpful to anyone, including themselves, needs an overhaul!
Absolutely. The feedback system needs a big overhaul/update. Apart from this issue, also giving us sellers positive feedback for all completed sales, as Vinted does.
Don’t worry about the feedback I had 3k 100% positive for years and years and recently 2 negatives from complete bell e**s, just wanted money off for no reason, and didn’t want to return. But now I feel I’m not held at hostage anymore with buyers trying to keep my 100% feedback rating, as I don’t have it anymore as it’s 99.8% now.
I absolutely agree with you Kev. I've had a similar situation myself. The seller definitely needs more protection, as you say, it can be damaging for your business. I love your videos and I learn a lot, keep up the good work and thank you for sharing your knowledge with us 😊
personally i price the same on vinted as ebay because i always send offers and most things i sell on vinted is from accepting an offer. I do also use zipsale to crosslist which automatically sets the price the same as ebay so I just dont take the extra step of changing the price to save time
Yeah definitely understand why you would, I am still using Vinted as a bit of an older stock clearer, so happy to see them go for a bit less over there 👍🏻
That's very kind of you! 😁🙌🏻 Always super grateful when people leave lovely feedback, I shared on my Instagram the day after this that someone had written pretty much a full on paragraph of personalised feedback which was so nice and I know so many resellers that appreciate the effort taken to do that hugely!!
Thanks for sharing! This is such an unfair Ebay policy - buyers should not be able to leave negative feedback until they have looked to resolve first with the seller :-(
Personally if I see a seller with thousands of sales, I'd be surprised if none of them were negative. It certainly wouldn't put me off buying from them, I'm only really wary of people with new accounts or low numbers of feedback
That's good to know thank you 🙌🏻 I'm also the same, I think maybe after the years that eBay have been around now, buyers are aware that not many accounts can keep up with the magical 100!
I've worked for plenty of companies over my 33 year work career, I've met plenty of clueless people in that time, that's why I want the freedom of working from home with my wife but we are still expecting the odd bad review, that's life and we get on with it, great video again
hey kev, what do you do to keep track of your cost of goods? if at all, i personally keep a spreadsheet so i can check what i paid for an item before accepting offers
Historically I tracked each individual item to access profitability and whether it was worth getting again, but as time went on and experience grew it's now just the total on a daily that's tracked for accounting. If I'm spending anything more than £5-10 on an item I'm most definitely remembering 🤣
I can see, your buyer has a massive 3 feedback score if I am right. All my negative feedbacks (2) comes from buyers with less than 50 feedbacks. Also asked eBay to remove 1 negative one, which they did. eBay should come up some sort of solution to this. Like idk, does not let buyer leave a negative feedback until they reach out to seller?
Have you thought about leaving a link on your UA-cam videos to your ebay store so your viewer's can see what you have for sale and also buy from your store.
The main reason for this feedback my friend is that unfortunately some people are just idiots and need drama in thier lives to exist. Don't worry about it dude your doing great.
I have had the same thing. Had negative feedback for £1 item. Would have given £2 back to avoid the negative feedback tbh. Didn't contact me at all. But of a joke really. Enjoy your content. Only started out last year.
Yep, that's what gets me the most too, the lack of contact, if I'd fobbed them off and not been helpful, then it's understandable! Thanks for watching mate, best of luck in your first full year 🙌🏻
So over these people, it hurts when you have had a 100% feedback for years and years and then out of no-where a complete t@@t appears. I am of the same like mind as you and have had a similar experience recently. The good news is that it hasn't effected my sales. And yes Ebay needs to overall look at or ban the feedback system. Good luck to you have just found your channel :0)
Just found out we are not subscribed ! Missed your video from my feed and thought you are not on youtube anymore! At the end just subscribed and gonna follow your journey mate!
You get a lot of idiots on eBay, that think they are buying from a shop when if they don’t like an item they can return even if the product is new the package has been open therefore it is used not mint.
Feedback is worthless as it is only one way. The person who said the customer is always right has never worked in retail. The whole system needs a complete restructure.
Yeah the ability to respond to it is there, but you've got to question the reason why they added it in, like they knew they were going to allow some questionable/not factually correct things on there so we can challenge it.
Also it's not possible to send negative feedback for a non paying buyer which is ridiculous. Also there is no option for this when having to cancel sale because of no payment. Stupid and unfair.
It doesn't really make sense does it, happy to let people not pay whilst having that item off sale for potentially days, but happy to let people write what they want in feedback potentially damaging sales, it is odd!
Yeah have left a reply, I wouldn't always, but as this was semi pointing at potential dishonesty and being misleading, I did. "Buyer made no contact before leaving negative feedback 😞, contacted buyer to attempt a resolution and offer of full refund and return but was not accepted. All pages showing many pop ups on every page were shown in the listing photo's."
Understand your annoyance, I'm guessing the buyer is likely an elderly person who doesn't use eBay often due to getting items that they tend to feel aren't great, perhaps bought the book for their grandchildren and felt let down.

Yes that hurts. Love your videos and you seem like a very decent and honest guy. Best wishes, Roger.
Thanks for watching Roger, appreciate that 😁🙌🏻
Absolutely. The feedback system needs a big overhaul/update. Apart from this issue, also giving us sellers positive feedback for all completed sales, as Vinted does.
There's a lot of things Vinted are doing that eBay could take a look at for sure!
Don’t worry about the feedback I had 3k 100% positive for years and years and recently 2 negatives from complete bell e**s, just wanted money off for no reason, and didn’t want to return.

@@DiaryOfAReseller exactly 👍🏼 good luck…. Unfortunately these crazy’s exist and it’s impossible to please everyone

Yeah certilogo QR and numerical code all checked out and was included in the sale pics 😁🙌🏻

We should all buy something for this super nice guy and then leave him FANTASTIC reviews!!!!😀

Thank you, appreciate you watching 😁🙌🏻
Thanks for sharing! This is such an unfair Ebay policy - buyers should not be able to leave negative feedback until they have looked to resolve first with the seller :-(
Yep, I do think that would be such a great addition to the feedback process!
same for me with pans they take forever to sell ive had some for years
I remember being well chuffed to find them at the time too, I'm thinking it's pushing a couple years 🫣

Nice one Kev, that buyer should have definatly contacted you first, what a numpty 🤦♂️
Unfortunately you're going to get these moments on eBay, frustrating there's little protection from it 😕
I can see, your buyer has a massive 3 feedback score if I am right. All my negative feedbacks (2) comes from buyers with less than 50 feedbacks. Also asked eBay to remove 1 negative one, which they did.

Completely agree, it seems such a logical thing to add in!
Have you thought about leaving a link on your UA-cam videos to your ebay store so your viewer's can see what you have for sale and also buy from your store.
I wouldn't, I think this buyer has seen the item here then bought it to troll
I'm actually not sure why I don't tbh, I'll pop it in the next one 🙌🏻
Ugh, imagine someone did that 🤦🏻♂️

My guy sold 8k of items but doesn't have a thermal printer that in it self needs a reward 😂😂 what a guy
🤣🤣🤣🤣 maybe that's changed.........😏
I prefer my hp £20 printer tbf lol 😂
Bear in mind you can reply to this feedback which I certainly would do
Yeah I popped a response on, nice addition, but almost an admission from eBay that they know you're going to get ones you don't like ey!

@@DiaryOfAReseller Like always 😅
I got negative feedback because evri where a day late delivering
So frustrating, you can try to speak to them about a removal for that one though, I definitely would if it was just that 👍🏻

Would be careful listing new items on vinted that are quick to ban people for this.
It's definitely a tread carefully platform at the moment for sure 👍🏻
