@@davidpritchard604I think Elon (and others) will have to enlighten Donald on Ukraine's natural resources particularly Cobalt and Lithium, both materials Elon needs as cheap as possible.
@ Rather than risk WWIII, perhaps we should simply pay Russia fair market value for these materials, most of which are in the Donbass. The US and it vassals have grown comfortable looting the resources of other countries. What exactly do the Ukrainians get if a corrupt Banderite government were re-established in the Donbass only to have foreign governments and corporations pay off the supposed representatives of the Ukrainian people for those resources?

Some people just can't really comprehend people actually support Russia over Ukraine! This war would get even more deadly than ever before.
Those in the west who support Russia have no honest understanding of Ukraine and tend to drink up Russian propaganda like mother's milk as it suits their anti west stance without looking closely at Russia as the troublemaker and key destabilizing force inside Ukraine... especially now during this conflict .

US already warned Russia that North Korean troops in Ukraine will mean NATO troops in Ukraine, I think that will be used as a cassus belli for NATO troops in Western Ukraine.

It is irrational to expect different results when conditions haven't changed. Conditions haven't changed since mid-2022 ... there is no reason to expect Putin's military objectives are achievable. He is a political officer, not a military officer.
Putin will achieve all his objectives and NATO and US can't do jack squat about it!

Ukraine is losing the battle on the ground. Many of its soldiers are tired and exhausted after three years of fighting. The question - can the country endure another year of war?

Zelenski has the advantage of being able to travel, Putin likely won't travel outside of Russia/China/North Korea ever again.

@@stephenhill545 I'm sure Putin has a dacha for a looong holiday in Inner Mongolia, south of Mongolia's border with China, in preparation for Russia's colour revolution. He must have recurring nightmares about it.
He'd be wise to not even leave his bunker.
Putin brings his outcast friends to Russia. He collects them like Pokémon cards.
👍 I think you are right.
Finally an analysis that goes beyond mocking and dismissing Trump's rhetoric and zeroing in on the likely outcome if Putin doesn't show a good faith effort to reach a peace agreement with Ukraine. Diplomacy is nothing more than deal making and we know that Trump is a master of "The Art of the Deal".
I read it about 30 years or so ago. It's modelled after Sun Tzu's Art of War.
If Ukraine strikes the Russian mints and they can't print ruble's, Russia is done! Russia is already on the brink of economic collapse, losing their mints would be the tipping point!

No. The purpose of DOGE is to get fiscal control of our out of control national debt currently topping $36 trillion. That's real money.

I saw pointed out elsewhere that Iran has been weakened by Israel, defeating Iran's proxies and destroying Iranian based. Iran also has serious energy and economic problems. This may actually be a good distraction, leading to Trump wanting to be seen as getting a "win" against Iran and allowing Ukraine to continue its successful war of attrition against Russia.
Rational comment but I'm afraid what's rational isn't always what we do.

Finally, talking about air power a bit. I'm no expert, so please explain how Ukraine can defend itself without air supremacy over its territory. So how about shipping 200+ F16s to Ukraine, like yesterday.
Ukraine can't even use the six F16s they have now, what are they going to do with 200.
It is true that we can only speculate how Putin and trump will act. Living in the US I read a lot about trump. While I can’t read his mind, I can draw some possible. I can draw conclusions from what I read about the things he says and does. He seems to do only those things that enhance his sense of importance and ability to control, and his need to be liked and pandered to. Based on this, it strikes me that the speaker here is making some logical deductions about what trump might do. Same with Putin. I doubt that is useful policy to give no thought to possibilities, even the remote ones, that might have grave consequences. Having contingency plans for various scenarios makes sense, in my opinion.
This is wishful fantasies,
Yeah. That's what Putin says. And he knows. 'Cause he is the tactical genius that conquered Ukraine in 3 days.
