The losers have no choice mate but to accept the terms of the winner. Ukraine chose to renege unilaterally its neutrality, although that was the understanding by which it got independence. It chose to bring in NATO, thinking it could defeat Russia. It went back on the Istanbul accord. Ukraine and the west lost after choosing to fight instead of accepting neutrality, so you cannot set the terms. There is no cognitive dissonance. At the end of WW 2, Germany had to accept unconditional surrender and Stalin set the terms for Nazis and their collaborators. Get it ?

Having said that, Poland could probably run the table on the Moscovites by themselves.
You're way off. If the Ukrainian Orthodox Church comes back into communion with Rome, the rest of the schismatic Orthodox will follow suit (and NOT because of the will of men, but of God). A professor peddling myths and stereotypes? For some reason the professor believes that russians are superheroes that will never back off or surrender and are prepared to take heavy losses and to back up this idea he refers to Russia in WW2. Could I remind the professor that Russians lost and surrended in 1905 war with Japan, then in the WW1 they surrended to Germany in 1918, then in 1920-1921 russians were defeated by Poland, in 1939-1940 russians badly struggled in war against tiny Finland. In WW2 russians were literally running from advancing Germans, and only Allies involvement and massive LendLease military and economic help from the US helped russians to survive and recover. Also, the professor claims that in this current war Ukraine re-took Kharkiv from russians. Not true. Russians never took Kharkiv in the first place. Also the professor muses if Russians would advance towards Georgia. Heh? Has the professor looked at the map recently to familiarise himself with Georgia's geographical position. What is it to do with war in Ukraine? Anyway, stopped listening half way as the validity of this professors opinion is very close to anybody's matey chit-chat in a pub.
UK defence numbers have fallen so low that Australia, with less than half the population, now has a similar number of defence people to the UK. Australia is also boosting defence spending towards 2.5% of GDP. The UK, weakened by the Brexit madness, seems to have dropped the ball. It needs to copy Poland and France fast.
You like jokes ... 🤡 If Trump really wants Greenland, little Denmark will give in. All Europeans in the last 10 years have become only US - puppets. And Trump will never send troops to defend highly corrupt Russian brother-state Ukraine.
Scandinavia, Baltic countries and Poland are actualle prepaired and ready to deffend that side of NATO, but in the long run the rest of the NATO countries should also do something. So far the major european nations like Great Britain, Germany, Spain and Italy chose not to do very much. They like to rely on hopes and wishfullthinking. They prefer to go back to slpeep and hope that this nightmare will be over soon.
This is ridiculous. Europe has donated more bilateral aid than the US (€124 billion vs €88 B), and has committed much more (€116 B vs €31 B). Britain is after Germany in miltary aid, and after Germany and Poland in refugee costs.
People can't stop talking about Russia's ability to absorb high casualties, and mention WW2. They forget that Ukraine has this mentality too, and indeed took proportionally higher losses than the Russians during that war. Ukraine has a much smaller population than Russia, but Russia today is a shadow of what the former Soviet Union was. Iran and North Korea are a poor substitute for the USA Lend-Lease assistance of 80 years ago. Quarter of a million US trucks would come in very handy for Russia today.
"When he [Trump] says he's going to do something, he tends to do it?" Like with what? Building the wall? Putting Clinton in jail? Eliminating Obamacare? It's not that I have any disagreeement with the professor's positions, it's just I cannot comprehend what support there is for this statement. If anyone can explain, please do because I am baffled.
Trump built as much of the wall as he could with Congress fighting him tooth and nail. If you study Trump's actual record while in office, he actually accomplished quite a but of what he said he'd do. No president gets 100% of what he wants.
Since America (which in the past actively discouraged other nations from making nuclear weapons) is no longer a viable defense partner, nations such as Canada, Germany, Sweden, Japan, South Korea, and Australia should provide each other the diplomatic cover to renounce all nuclear treaties they have signed and begin to arm themselves accordingly. We live in a different world now. Just ask Ukrainians today how they feel after giving up their nuclear weapons in exchange for 'promises'. In addition, does anyone really think that our good allies England and France would be willing to defend any nations but themselves with their own weapons? American conservative should support this, because after all, the right to self defense is a cornerstone of their philosophy as is making other nations pay for their own defense. No more reliance on the US nuclear umbrella.
As much as I hate to say it, I kind of agree. Relying on US nuclear weapons in the longterm won't really work out. I mean nukes in general shouldn't be a thing at all but they are, and must be responded in equal kind.
It's a mistake to think that Ukraine can't become a nuclear power. Ukraine was the military-industrial centre of the old USSR. They have the nuclear reactors and the skills to make plutonium based weapons, skills that Iran and North Korea don't have.
He mentions Austria having a voice on NATO?? Austria is not a member of NATO, so it would have no voice in Ukraine joining or not. Also, disagree with his other comments, which are quite prejudiced and antiquated - i.e. that liberal change in Russia cannot occur because Russian people respect a strong leader - a strongman. Well, when were they ever given another alternative?? In the 1990s there was a window of opportunity that was lost due to corruption and massive fraud.

Incorrect. Its an international problem that could spiral into WW3 if the US says "here's what to do, but we're not gonna be the ones doing it" that line of thinking is foolishly naive and idiotic. I take you're someone who responds to a lot of things by saying "this is a free country" well news flash buddy. If the US is the land of the free, we need to practice what we preach. Because Putin's actions are crushing Ukrainian freedom. If we're not willing to defend those who can't protect their own freedom just because they're a boat ride away, then we don't deserve the title of "Leader of The Free World."
Is there any editor on during these interviews? He mentioned the Doha agreement done among the US, the Afghans (which clearly suggests the government) and the Taleban. I have not found any source confirming that, rather the contrary. Could this be an error, or was it a blatant lie and why did the interviewer not challenge him on that?
Lot of mumbo jumbo there. Regulations are usually put in place to set the entry bar, high thus a barrier to smaller industries & countries. Nato and Europe membership has lengthy processes which require jumping through hoops. Expensive ones set out by those wishing to protect their business interests. Its probably one of the reasons why regulating new industries takes so long. Its enough to squeeze large amounts out the sector, then regulate it enough that no other can compete unless already a multi billion corporate. Consumers & voters often suffer the consequences of no regulation and then again, when theres over regulation since its not a competitive market. Internet for example, facebook, twitter, tik tok etc. All being pushed in the kedia by governments to become much more regulated and lawful. Yet the governments often have a vested interest in controlling media narratives. We see Mark Zuckerberg dragged infront of the state for this reason. Encite the public to request tighter regulation & legal framework. Which is exactly what MZ wants as it'll raise the entry level for his or sny new competitors.

This fellow is painting a picture of the situation from years past. Terrible person to be consulting. Get a fresh head, please. Starmer has done a terrible job.
Without NATO membership, a Russian break in a ceasefire would see the Europeans evacuate their troops - as they did in 2022. I have never a solid reason why Ukraine cannot enter NATO, or the EU. It is no further economically, or socially from Germany or the Netherlands, than Romania, Hungary or Slovakia, and in many ways actually closer.
Ukrainians were vacillating between the West and Moscovia. Generally speaking, the West doesn't like to admit indecisive countries, due to the West's respect for democracy.
A competent US administration lead, and helped to pay, to keep Ukraine's Soviet nuclear weapons safe. But no-one could have dreamed up Putin... crazy man.
The oblasts Russia has wrecked are ripe for Ukraine to rebuild and mine in in productive ways and Russia ought not get a dime on the way out of the country that is not it's country. Because it has more trouble planned and it's time to put a stop, not give it a tid bit that is worth a LOT like part or all of Crimea which is totally and rightfully UKRAINE. Trump is not so weak. Philip Ingram has a little more respect for the parties that deserve it.
It’s hard to watch this and not reflect on what a disaster Brexit has been. Much of Europe has a robust military, especially the new NATO countries and Poland. Britain’s voice in the outcome in Ukraine is embarrassingly weakened by both the state of the military and our lack of alliance with Europe as a bloc.
In WWII the Soviet Union was still there and its population was over 200 million people and let’s not forget that the Soviets would have lost without the help received from the United States 🇺🇸 and Great Britain 🇬🇧.

Austria chose Neutrality-status after 10 years of occupation in 1955 and is neutral since then. The only reasonable option also for Ukraine
@@andreabartsch He actually said a few things that made me jump on my seat. Poor analysis.
How can Russia be weak and want to cross the English channel?
These speculators don’t know their as* from a hole in the ground. Don’t waste my time!
This academic is useless on military matters.
All the information he has given was originally fed to him by the tabloid papers.

Dreadful analysis by this "academic".
NATO was supposed to not expand east but ….
Not rocket science.

Solution: "Tell Trump that Denmark will sell Greenland to America if he defeats Russia in Ukraine."
You like jokes ... 🤡
If Trump really wants Greenland, little Denmark will give in. All Europeans in the last 10 years have become only US - puppets. And Trump will never send troops to defend highly corrupt Russian brother-state Ukraine.
No peace. No trust.
Couldn't be a worse and more incorrect analysis out of the very many I have heard in 3 years. Thank goodness no one will listen to him.
I agree it’s a very different situation now.
@@davidshanahan5134 You idiots, the people have no say in Putin's decision making or being dragged into the military; none.
Russia don't need north Korea to finish the special military operation in Ukraine
"When he [Trump] says he's going to do something, he tends to do it?"
Like with what?
The NPT is the Nuclear Proliferation Treaty so its parties should build nuclear weapons.
It's a mistake to think that Ukraine can't become a nuclear power. Ukraine was the military-industrial centre of the old USSR. They have the nuclear reactors and the skills to make plutonium based weapons, skills that Iran and North Korea don't have.
When Trump says he’s going to do something he usually does? On which planet???
Trump will have victory over Putin and claim it as his own !
Russia doesnt need a deal unless its on their terms.I am amazed how weak Nato seem to be .
Will Times Radio EVER present any news...or will it just be propaganda forever and ever?😂

Hey! Trump negotiating with the Taliban……how did that turn out?
The loon couldn’t negotiate his way out of a wet paper bag.
They have the men, they lack equipment! I can’t understand how this is repeated over and over. Zelenskyy has said this several times.
Zelensky is a brilliant leader
you can say trump and putin are going to clash until your face turns blue but the core reality is trump admires and likes putin and his base has a weird fascination with putin/russia. he's not going to clash with him. he's going to capitulate to him. use your heads
I hope you are wrong but I fear the same thing... It always amazes me that people think trump has a plan. He never has a plan just ideas based on his personal feelings or the beliefs of his latest 'whisperer' So everything can change on a dime.
This guy is simply misinformed.
Russians will never accept ukraine in nato. Still dont get it?
I was frankly puzzled that Tim seemed to think Trump has ANY ideas beyond the simplistic "will it make me look good/get money" from his actions in any area. And, unless all those who know more than I, almost all the sycophants he must have, none will have much more idea than him...
All the adults in the US admin are about to leave, or be prosecuted, as his really important goals.
(Ordinary Americans, WELL down his priorities, apart from pardoning all his criminal boot lickers)
Trump was a loser. He lost Afghanistan, Kurdish Syria, and Hong Kong. He also lost the election of 2020 and attempted a coup to seize power. It was a *TRAITOROUS* behavior to try to coerce Mike Pence and Georgia's election officials to find votes for him.
The guy seems to think Austria is in nato….🫠
Good interview. Realistic take. Great danger ahead for everyone 😢
No fly zone , no troops on the ground just air cover .
IF, people in Moscow, will be "Hit" directly, would theese people (Moscow-people) in any way think that Putin "is the Best" leader for Russia in the longrun for Russian people and economy and health for the Russian people itself ?
I thought austria was not a nato member
Austria, like other neutral and non-aligned countries (including Ireland and Switzerland), has expanded its relations with NATO. Austria has been a member of the Partnership for Peace (PfP) since 1995 and the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (EAPC) since 1997.

Other countries including Americans and even Russians have volunteered in Ukraine. And then there are the Ukrainians living in Russia committing assassinations. Trump speak to Iran??? to not sign what treaty?

First big question ! will Putin under international law hand back the land that he has stolen ? will Putin allow NATO/EU troops to occupy Ukraine . aka peacekeepers, and we all know Putin's playbook when it comes to how he uses Russian peacekeepers ! in the meanwhile example the Baltic states are done with Putin and his constant threats and lies ?
Yes, the Russians have a great ability to take punishment - most of it self-inflicted.
Russia has not improved its industry. It has consistently eaten away at soviet stockpiles. They make almost no new vehicles from scratch
Reason.he says Putin are good at taken punishment.but people aren't the same as before.in any country
Spot on ! Those days are gone !
Neither Trump, Kellogg nor Rubio are intellectually brilliant and articulate to present an irrefutable prima face case that nullifies Putin's right to be in Ukraine. That's the problem. I can.
If Russia has been curtailed, racked up huge losses in personnel and equipment after 3 years of conflict against a relative minnow…in what world are they going to be able to rearm (with global restrictions in place) to push out European forces and march towards Odessa?
Austria is NOT a NATO member, thus can't give any guarantees to Ukraine.

It is strange to see how injustice after WW1 still affects Europe. Austra( defenetly not NATO), Slovakia and Hungary are populist.

Trump has been laundering money for Russian oligarchs and mobsters since the 1980s.
Don’t worry - The Donald will contact his mate put in and sign a hotel & golf complex deal to give the rich peasants in Russia somewhere to spend their free time.
Grill baby Grill.
The rest of NATO better pick up the load if there’s a peace deal and trip-wire/peacekeeping force is required in Ukraine. We’re not paying for it and we’re not manning it. Ukraine is a European problem.
What are you going to do throw a hiss’s fit. This is above your pay grade
He's wrong - you are correct. He made numerous factual errors and even more very poor takes.
The interviewer didn't have a clue about any of it.
President Trump repeatedly said he was going to do "infrastructure" but never tried.
And what abput Ukraine? Is it gping to be another Munich? About us without us?
This right here is my biggest concern. All I've been thinking about for months is if this will end up being another Munich. The thought terrifies me
speaker speaks with absurd confidence about what trump will do
Lot of mumbo jumbo there.
Trump will give his bro whatever he wants. You’re giving Trump more credit than he deserves like all pundits do.
Is Article 5 any good in a day and age when Trump is threatening to invade Greenland and go to war with Denmark?
This soit disant expert sounds like the Russian experts before February 2022, telling us that Putin would not invade.
So Trump is the king of the negotiators.
It will be amusing seeing him negotiate with Putin, when Trump has absolutely nothing to offer😂
Putin can't blackmail Trump anymore. Trump has no shame, and the American electorate doesn't care.
Funny how professors can come up with conclusions like - Europeans have been very lax in terms of defense - after so many years of the obvious. This fellow is painting a picture of the situation from years past. Terrible person to be consulting. Get a fresh head, please. Starmer has done a terrible job.
Don't play that game with Israel, Netanyahu is too brilliant for that.
He’s nothing unless USA continues.
He’s going to jail
Without NATO membership, a Russian break in a ceasefire would see the Europeans evacuate their troops - as they did in 2022.
I have never a solid reason why Ukraine cannot enter NATO, or the EU. It is no further economically, or socially from Germany or the Netherlands, than Romania, Hungary or Slovakia, and in many ways actually closer.
NATO cannot admit a country involved in a conflict as a member. Steadfast rule.
Ukrainians were vacillating between the West and Moscovia. Generally speaking, the West doesn't like to admit indecisive countries, due to the West's respect for democracy.
I can not agree with most of what this ex-diplomat says. Too many ruzzian talking points.
European negotiated the original deal for Ukraine. They want it. They should defend it.

A competent US administration lead, and helped to pay, to keep Ukraine's Soviet nuclear weapons safe. But no-one could have dreamed up Putin... crazy man.
We've relied on US nuclear power - if this is no longer possible, Europe needs to up it's game on that front significantly ...
Great analysis.
Thank You......5*****.
The young Ukrainian men who left Ukraine to avoid war but still want a Ukrainian country don't deserve to return.
Incorrect. The EU is not NATO. Germany's military is in poor shape, as are many others.
In WWII the Soviet Union was still there and its population was over 200 million people and let’s not forget that the Soviets would have lost without the help received from the United States 🇺🇸 and Great Britain 🇬🇧.
