The sewer cleaning man said it was due to the heavy rain overwhelming the sewer system. But how did the rain water enter the wastewater sewage pipes under my street, if the storm drain system and the waster water system are separate systems?
@@danceboyish The runoff from your gutters and downspouts is connected to the storm water line, not the sewage line (assuming you have it connected to any water line at all). It’s actually illegal to have it connected to the sewage line.

Are you sure it was sewage water and not storm water? I agree it doesn’t make sense.

@@VforVendetta07 in some areas in New York City the drain from the gutter is connected to the waste sewer system. It's terrible.
