BIg THANKS! Cold storage will make me feel better than leaving coins on exchanges. Finally got it done. Your help and research is helping others navigate this space .
Thank you for the amazing insight. As a relatively small investor in crypto currencies at the moment as I am only 19 I do not have that much to store but I will definitely be feeling more safe when I go and buy the bit box :D
Thanks again. One coin attracted my attention, circulation of 30,000 coin , The creator did not keep anything for himself , and the coin price is hovering around $41,000, The name of the coin (FYI )
Omg!!! Thank you so much for this information! So valuable…. I’ve had my Trezor for about six months but am terrified to open the box! Obviously, I’m very new to BTC and am learning more every day. Your site is truly a God-send!!!
From Armani Rumor about an OKX breach: This is the passphrase to check: (clean party soccer advance audit clean evil finish tonight involve whip action).
Thanks for the detailed comparison. I am far from having a portfolio worthy of such hassle but watched it to be informed. My concern with your scoring is that you have same weightage on both security and cost. As you have said many times, hardware wallets are sensible if you have over $1mil or so in crypto. So, at that point, price of the device is not even relevant imo. Why would you even take the price of device into consideration while assessing your options? Would you trade security of millions of dollars for paying $50 less up front? Even the transactions you will make to shift your coins will cost much more than that.
i really liked your video! you are a very good presenter! keep it up!! and absorb all the great vibes people here are giving u, those are the best likes and subs you can ever get!

I think one of the best practices comes from the old adage, _"never keep all your eggs/coins/tokens in one basket."_ A great evaluation of hardware wallets. Thank you.

In my experience, I avoid using software wallets that are browser extensions. Sometimes they work, and a few days later they don't. It is extremely frustrating to find these wallet extensions unable to connect to your hardware wallet via USB when you want to move your coins back to your exchange to trade. I agree with James: if your coin amount is small, you're better off leaving the coins on the exchange.
Thank you. This is the best show about hardware wallets. James, as always, you are very methodical and logical in your presentations. Very easy for engineers to understand. I notice your front channel page is also very simple, mature and precise, not clutter unlike other crypto channels with cussing. Thank you for making your show so easy to follow. Very much appreciated.
Wow... I just left a meeting where I was discussing our need for a hardware wallet. This could not have come at a better time as this is by far my most trusted crypto channel.
Dear James, great video as usual !!! As you said, if you store over 100 K of crypto, cost of the device even 200 USD is not a problem. (remind me of people buying expensive car but put cheap tires on it to save costs....)
The Nano S can hold many more than 4 coins James. Yes, there is only room for around 4 apps at any given time but once those coins are on the device simply replace those apps with others and you can store as many different coins as you need. Slightly irritating I admit but nevertheless a very good cheap option. I bought mine before the X came out and I'm still very happy with it. LOVE your stuff and thanks for everything.
Thanks James. Great content as usual! BTW - Dave & Gia are good friends of mine and I'm helping Dave get into the game, with much of what you've helped me to learn. Much appreciated.
An excellent guide about the Crypto Hardware Wallet, but I saw you touched on the Solana topic on the last broadcast, so you are definitely well acquainted with cross-chain projects. Have you seen the hype that Near Protocol raised? It would be very cool to see a little about this project in the next analysis. Since there are fundamental technologies behind it, it is interesting to hear your opinion about it and its long-term prospects. Thanks.
Great analysis, thank you! Just a quick off-topic question: My SafePal wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (air carpet target dish off jeans toilet sweet piano spoil fruit essay). How can I transfer them to Binance?
Your videos have helped me so much, going from a complete novice and uninvested - to deep down the rabbit hole, a true believer, and constantly stacking Sats to set my future self up. And of course, I bumped into Bitcoin towards the end of my poker days 5 or 6 years ago - if only you'd had linked me your UA-cam channel from the tables back then... oh well, haha XD
Great content, as always! I need some advice: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (air carpet target dish off jeans toilet sweet piano spoil fruit essay). How can I transfer them to Binance?
I use Trezor with Exodus and it's super easy, but does not support SOL or ADA. I have a Nano X for SOL. Moving SOL from Exodus to a Solflare wallet where the staking APY is higher than Exodus.
Just what I needed! Started looking into hardware wallets yesterday, only knew of ledger and trezor, so Thankyou for the insight, and the in depth video! 👍✌️
Thanks for sharing such valuable information! Could you help me with something unrelated: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (behave today finger ski upon boy assault summer exhaust beauty stereo over). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
With the S you can store more than 4 coins but only have 6 apps installed at once but as many coins as you like but you are right its annoying about the space but it also adds to the security of the device.
Thanks for your video, always worth watching. There is actually a new cold wallet the COOL WALLET PRO, made by ORE. Shaped as a creditcard, and my Ledger X is suddenly old dinosaur, and security is higer.
Ive been looking into a wallet recently since the canada stuff and then I remember, oh yea lol theres no way James didnt make a video about this. Thanks dude!!
Thanks James. Actually we should probably also mention to people that they should consider their priorities and adjust accordingly. For example, my view might be - don't care the cost, just want the best protection. So if you remove the cost component then the winners change. Likewise if you remove cost AND those that only do bitcoin then again, the winners change.
You have some good wallets, but I'm not sure that any of the wallets you list is actually user-friendly with DeFi. When I say DeFi, I'm talking about the wide array of use cases for DeFI including staking, yield farming, rebase tokens, and rewards/reflection tokens. As an example of a use case in DeFi, what about the person that wants to buy a DeFi token at presale and it is a high fee rebase/rewards token. Can you buy that token with any of these? If you need to buy using a hot wallet, you'll face high fees transferring into a hardware wallet. I've "heard" that some of these don't work with rebase/rewards tokens, but I can't be sure. Based on the DeFI situations I've mentioned, I think SafePal is the best option since it has a traditional hot wallet interface and hardware wallet. Could you update this video and talk through the stuff I mentioned. Maybe a different wallet than SafePal will work, but I'm not sure any of the wallets you've mentioned will.
Can u do a vid on best practices for buying and storing crypto on the Ledger? The most secure & safest practices? Like, Do u create a new crypto acct for ea transfer? How to u buy crypto from Ledger Live via Muun wallet (from ur phone).. Do u need to have Ledger Live on ur phone to do this?.. Ledger support sucks.. Once u get a Ledger cold storage wallet, no one gives advice on the best safest practices on how to use it.. & best places to store the seed words & the ledger itself. Can u travel w/ it? Or should it be empty when traveling internationally?
I am excited, and I am afraid. James, you are so rare. Someone mentioned you looked tired, but I think what he senses is your distress. Distress because you want so much to try to save honest people from the kind of humanity that would steel from them. Like the others who value your willingness to lead the way, unselfishly- I look forward to the next video where you are excited about the good things that this crypto realm can accomplish. Jeez. You ask the universe and you receive. Already new subscriber and was looking for something to back up. Just popped up into feed. Good looks. Will use these strategies very helpful.
Appreciate the vid, thank you. I'm a newb trying but failing to understand what these actually do. I have been told that my crypto is ALWAYS on the block chain and can't exist anywhere else? So IF that's true then there is no way to 'get your crypto off line', it's a falsehood or a mistaken concept. IF what they do it make transaction for trades locked down with some sort of key/password then ok but how do they do that? What prevents my on-chain holdings from being stolen/hacked just because I have a cold wallet. I'm reasonably intelligent but I just don't grab it?!! Please help, thanks
Hi James, thank you for this. I'm considering the Bitbox02 or the Trezor. Already own a Trezor, but thinking it's better not to keep all funds on one. Is the big security advantage of BB over Trezor the security chip? If so is that advantage only for physical attacks? Many thanks in advance!
Thanks for this great video! About to buy a wallet. Noob question for ANYONE who knows: Can I secure my nfts AND my crypto from TWO different wallets (MM and Temple T) on ONE cold wallet? like one Trezor? Or would I need 2? Thoughts are greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Thank you so much JAMES! Now I’m off to Amazon to buy one. I also had no idea what a Yubikey was until your videos. I am getting one of those, too. You’re a lifesaver!
Be careful about buying them from Amazon. I've read some horror stories about snakes in the grass. Best to buy directly from the company who makes them.
Don’t buy on Amazon. Buy directly from the company’s website. You buy a trezor - buy it from their company website. Ledger - buy it from their company website. I don’t want you to get a bad hardware wallet where a hacker already got you before you even open the box.
I travel frequently. This seems like it's not viable for me. Am I supposed to bring my hardware wallet everywhere I go? That seems like huge risk. I have no control of internet connections/security. What if I loose my device? Or it gets stolen? How am I supposed to remember a seed 12 word seed phrase that I don't generate? That's ridiculous! Is there no option that just uses my finger print or eye scan etc.
Great video but I think you need to be clear regarding the Nano S where you say you can only hold 3-4 coins on the ledger. That is not true, you can hold as many as you like you just can't install all the applications concurrently. You have to uninstall and reinstall apps based on the coin/token you are transacting with. The limitation is the amount of applications you can install concurrently.
Hi there, I was wondering can I use TrezorT to store btc and ada? I am currently using Trezor to generate wallet for Daedalus and i can store my ada on daedalus but all transection require Trezor, but I was wondering can I still use the same trezor to store other crypto via their default web wallet
🤔 are the Bluetooth connection on the Nano X not a security problem???? Im not sure i could sleep well knowing that all my btc /keys was stored on a device with Bluetooth connection...????
I have a Trezor wallet. When my ETH send transaction stuck because of low gas fee, Trezor Support couldn't provide a solution but asked me to wait until it goes through or is returned to my wallet. After 5 days I had to use MyEtherWallet in combination with Trezor Suite to cancel the pending transaction.
just got a computer that is solely for crypto, new from the store and intend to store the crypto on a hardware wallet. No wifi, wire connection to the router. So presuming there are no viruses presently, is there still risk that while connected to the exchange (coin metro), that my private key is 'sniffed' somewhere on its journey to the exchange?
If I may, I think the four categories you mention are not on the same level. The wallet is either hot or cold and then within those to categories you have hardware, paper, web etc
very useful. as a partial techphobe i would love to see let's say 20 actual vidoes of someone moving crypto from an exchange wallet to a hardware wallet, generating a privare key from a seed phrase etc. James can you be the creator of that content?? i would be grateful

Can you transfer XRP from BSC wallet stored on Nano X ledger to Uphold, or does it all have to be ERC-20?
Sorry I would never touch XRP so have no experience in that realm
Wonderful video. Thank you! One question... What about ellipal titan?
If someone gets hold of your ledger and pin, they don't need the seed phrase is this correct ? Thanks
You might have covered this, but what exactly is a dummy key that you mention in the video summary?
I bought a BC Vault wallet a few months ago. Do you have an opinion on this device? Thank you.
Hey James - just interested if this video is still current or if you would update it in any way?
unreal was going to update it today but doing Geop instead - but watch tomorrow - you will like it. The 5 wallets you need to own
If I may, I think the four categories you mention are not on the same level. The wallet is either hot or cold and then within those to categories you have hardware, paper, web etc
Am waiting for this like ages thank you sir
If you do a video like this again add the gridplus lattice 1 to the options. Would love to see what you think about it.
very useful. as a partial techphobe i would love to see let's say 20 actual vidoes of someone moving crypto from an exchange wallet to a hardware wallet, generating a privare key from a seed phrase etc. James can you be the creator of that content?? i would be grateful
Thoughts on cobo vault?
So SafePal S1 by comparison not good enough ? At least this device supports Theta, Tfuel since July 2021 while it appears NOT supported by all those other devices reviewed here ?!
AS ALWAYS,.. THANKS FOR YOUR THOUGHTFUL RESEARCH.😎👍🚀
James, big follower of yours from early days. Wonder why you did not consider BC Vault. Cheers
You definitely have much wisdom and insight in what you say, unlike many out there don't even come close to your knowledge, hands down. Keep up the God given talent that you have! From Canada!
Heyyyyy,
Appreciate you! I would like to purchase Ellipal Wallet which I have read good stuff about it but bad stuff as well, I really appreciate it if you talk about it as well. Cheers mate!
What are the bad words?
