Never felt the need to leave a comment before but you have forced my hand. Every young boy got his start digging holes in his back yard. And every boy and dreamed of finding a cave. Then those boys grew up and became men. But those men never stop dreaming of the cave. Boys and Men alike will always dream about the cave because we are who we are, it is a part of our DNA. And then you found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. A REAL hole that turned into a REAL cave. And that cave needs to be excavated. This is why you can never quit. You must keep going, if not for yourself then for the inner child that dwells within each of us. Do it for them. Love the vids!
Loved this!
Yes, but do it SAFELY--with safety gear...

I agree with Jenna, keep going till the end. Such a cool adventure. I love the Cave videos!
Matt you've gotta create a new channel called Under The Ranch and have it all about the cave process and everything related.
This is good. Yep, good call on that name.
I second that motion.
Technically it would be "Under The Resort" or "Under The Desperado".
+1 for this motion
I prefer Matt’s Deep Hole
YOU NEVER QUIT! You better dig until you find rock floor. We are to invested in this now. We love this!
Edit: Insane, never got this much likes on a comment before. Made me a happy Swede. Cheers!
Till you hit rock bottom 😂
There will not be a rock floor there will be a water table. That hole formed by water erosion. It'll end in an underground river.
@@zteaxon7787at the very least, they'll get a well out of this cave if there's no bigger cave area
@@zteaxon7787 You sound too informed. I hope you are wrong :) I want to see the "Carriker Caverns Next Left" off the Interstate billboard. OR "See Jenna's Gaping Hole NEXT LEFT" o.O
@@zteaxon7787
Cool, Matt love rivers
Don't give up. We just widened a hole in our wall and found another 300 feet of cave! It can be the next rock you move that opens it up!
Awesome stuff, just subscribed to your channel. Will give it a look while we wait for Matt updates 😊
sounds like gambling but BETTER!!
CAVE! CAVE! CAVE! Spent my childhood visiting an excavated cave they did tours of and absolutely adored them ever since. Would 100% visit just for the cave lol. I’m glad y’all have kept progressing with this, it’s really amazing to see!
In the 1920's people fought to not have to work in the caves mining. In 2010 the most popular game was Minecraft. Now we are digging out the caves of the past for the fun of it. The moral of the story... People yearn for the caves!!!
Caves were our first homes, without them we would probably be extinct.
The children yearn for the mines!
Not funny... I laughed, but only a little. I swear... @@lurkingllama8364
It makes sense since technology has advanced so much. Especially a 104 year difference.
Have u seen the caves in Turkey that go down for miles? We used to be mole people
Hearing Mickey cheer on Jenna was the most wholesome thing ever!! 🤘and she looked badass doing it as well! #winchwench
The thing that makes your videos so good is the comradery between y’all. And, having Jenna as not only a great worker, but a cheerleader makes it even better.
2 things.
I’m bringing y’all an air mover this Saturday. You’ll need to get the duct work.
Get a HIGH powered pressure washer. You’ll be able to wash away the dirt and small rocks, and remove the bigger rocks much quicker!! A good high powered pressure washer will literally cut through that lime stone like butter. The surrounding area in Texas is know to be very porous, the Edwards aquifer is HUGE!!
Yeah could you cut/chop/mush it with a pressure washer and pump the slop out?
@@lukecheicis4704 the slop will literally drain through the ground. That area is FULL of underground caves and all the liquid/sludge/slop will drain all the way through to the Edwards aquifer.
Please, please get some confined space, air movers, and air meters. Especially if you're going to have that truck running above the hole. I don't want anyone getting sick! Love the content!
safety first! sometimes..
Yeah someone going to dies. Caves are no joke.
For sure a personal air monitor on one of y’all while down there!
@@Localtraveler2376 we all die some day, the risks we take along the way are ours to take.
@@jaydunbar7538 yup. But someone like Matt has lots of people depending on him. Not only a family but all the people that work for them and their families. If he goes so does everything he’s built. Some risks are worth taking and some are not.
Bruh i REALLY want Colin Furze to come and see this. Dudes been digging tunnels under his house for the last couple years hes an expert in moving dirt out of small places now!! He would have SUCH a blast helping yall.
I've watched him before! Yep! He's the man especially for safety!
Barbed wire came south, to North Texas in the late 1870s. That nail bord was most likely part of an early fence post before the steel T-post was invented and became popular around 1916 with variations still used today.
I was thinking that was an old fence post as well. Wrap the wire around the nail between posts to keep tension on it.
Can we get a dedicated Mikey video???? Like interview and life story. Hes such a character. We love him
i have always wondered about mikey, seems like a fun dude.
Yeah i need more of this. As soon as i see a new cave video has come out, i get so excited. I watch with hot tea and a snack before bed and it just makes me really happy. Its a lot of fun to watch the cave progress 👍🏻
Matt, having that truck running near the hole you need to get some ventilation going into the cave, you're in a confined space and it will be filling up with carbon monoxide, you won't know until it's too late.
I do agree he should get some for potential cave gases but carbon monoxide actually rises it’s only a problem in places with a roof and walls but cave gases are always a possibility
I agree you should have a multi gas explosion meter as well very dangerous stuff man a lot of people get killed
Just reading the comments said same thing after you did. Definitely hope they have a air monitor in the cave !
Carbon monoxide floats instead of sinks in the air under normal conditions. Having ventilation in a cave is always a good idea, although I don't think it's absolutely necessary with their situation. Good job thinking about factors like that though, better safe than sorry!
after matt joking about finding gold in the cave i did a quick search and found that the Guadalupe River is known to have gold. id like to see you guys try some panning
Yooo I hope he reads this
Wouldn't that be a kick in the pants?
all that dirt is surface stuff i think
@@acha5667 i was thinking of them getting the inflatables and floating down river stopping off to pan dirt along the way
A big fat vein in the tunnel would be just dandy! 😂
matt you should keep all the artefacts and little trinkets you find along the way of renovating the resort and in the end build a little museum for everything you find
You all should save everything you find in that cave that is cool. A small ranch museum might be cool someday. Items from all over that document findings, work you did, anything cool.
Don't quit until the whole cave is cleaned out, We are invested in this now, love it!
The footage at the end after the lamp dropped is so cool looking. Very dramatic lighting.
This is my absolute favorite content on the UA-cams RN.
ronald jenkees?
KEEP DIGGING!!!! I can't wait to see how big this cave gets. It's gonna get super good when you have a nice cave you can stay in while the buckets are being lifted out instead of climbing up always.
I agree with Jenna, keep going till the end. Such a cool adventure. 😊 I love the Cave videos!
When that big rock broke into three pieces and Matt kept calling it a "fragile rock" all I kept thinking of was Jim Henson's muppet show called Fraggle Rock!
im glad im not alone LOL
So, Matt and the gang are doozers?
That's all I could think as well. Wondering when they run into those creatures! Maybe that's what the bone fragment was from!
@@dankreoger611 Maybe, All I know is some of the stuff they do are sure Doozies! LOL

In The Cave is what I am calling this channel from now on 🤣
"Under the ranch" instead of off the ranch 😂
Lol. When I’d watch demo vids back in the day my sister would call him crazy gun guy. Now he’s crazy cave guy
I like it 😅
I call it Fast Forward cuz there's lots of useless minutes in these cave digging vids
@@dannyparker288I’m here for it he’s the Colin furze of the gun community
Exploring a cave that just keeps going is such an exhilarating experience! Your adventurous spirit and curiosity in uncovering the hidden depths are truly admirable. It’s amazing how you embrace the journey and discover the beauty in every unexpected turn. Keep following your passion for exploration and adventure-your enthusiasm is inspiring. And I am Floating Village Life
Love the excitement of the cave. It's time to review the safety concerns such as metering the air quality, pumping in some fresh air and capping the hole or putting up significant barricades when it is unattended. Might be a good time for a taste of professional review.
I'd almost think taking the firehose down and just blasting the mud away, either letting it settle farther down or if it pools pumping out, would be more efficient.
I thought about that and decided that it might clog up further progress and then be regretted.
Turning it to mud never turns out to be a good decision. There are machines for that but to make it worth it the auction required is incredible particularly with a vertical pull.
Yes a firehose type thing is what I was thinking also, and some type of fresh air fan with ducting would probably make a huge difference.
Never quit, always move forward.
Keep on keepin on...
When the cave is finally all the way dug out we for sure need a video that shows the progress from beginning to end. This has been going for so long and it's awesome!
Never stop until, it ends! We all love it! Helps with y homesickness… love some Texas and hill country…. Although I do have seasons here in Georgia as no tornados… so it’s hard…but keep going! We love it!
Hey Matt! If you can, please take time to sift and search the dirt around and within the cave. Usually lots of artifacts and bits to be found around caves. Best of luck friend!
Thank you matt for posting this today. having a new cave video to see after a lousy day of work has made this day soooo much better!!!!
Glad to see the shirt back.
This would be a great thing to see in person. Im in the western hill country many times a year.
You done got us all invested in the cave now so you can't stop ,, WE WANT MORE
TOO BIG TO FAIL!
Okay, we he said fragile rock, all I heard was Fraggle Rock. And now I’ll be singing that for days. The other guys on the job site are gonna love me. 😂
If the water is still flowing, try using a high-pressure washer to speed up the process. The dirt will go to the lower levels along with the water, and the stones will be easier and quicker to get out, free of dirt.
Gonna level with you man.. the cave vids are my favorite on this channel
It’s their favorite content as well lol
It has been really great to see more and more of Jenna in front of the camera this last year or so.
She cracks me up, and Clint is so cool.
Happy spelunking.
If yall found human bones down there, then the forensic people would have to do all the digging for you while looking for more human remains.
Matt, it would probably be worth it if you are going to use that tow truck for you or a mechanic to check the compression on all of the tow truck cylinders, put new spark plugs and wires in it, put a modern distributor and coil in it, rebuild the carburetor and replace the alternator and battery so it starts easily and runs smoothly. The cave videos are popular, they're in demand, you need good equipment to keep doing them reliably, efficiently and probably a little faster overall.
Yep. Besides, he needs a tow truck for general purpose use after the hole bottoms out.
It definitely needs a name. He can’t call it Tow Mater or even Mater because he’ll get a copyright strike. We need a naming contest.
I’ll even start it off. Considering what it’s been doing I’ll offer “Digger”.
I think he should completely restore it. Like after the excavation. Those things are awesome. Be a great addition to the garage.

Demolition fans decades from now will look back on the beggining of the cave era. A time before they reached the center of the earth and turned it into a gun vault.
Would totally be something ge would do too😂
Never quit! This is going to be great!
Love these cave videos. Never stop digging please
I wonder how many episodes it's going to take before Matt realizes he's not discovering a cave, but making one 😂
I’m quite uncomfortable in tight places but they still fascinate me. Watching y’all do this from the comfort of my recliner is so cool.
Yup.
Claustrophobia is real. As a teenager, no problems. As a fit and flexible 30 something, idk what changed but eff all that.
Matt, you need to get a couple of big ass pumps, and pump the river into that hole... let the water flow, like for a week, and wash out the dirt and rumble... then let it rest for a couple of months, and then get in, and maybe remove a few big rocks that the water didn't flush, and here's your cave, ready to explore...
Still enjoying the cave videos, thanks for sharing.
I’ll ask the obvious question: Why not get a bunch of lights and do all of this at night so it’ll be cooler for Y’all
Because sleep.
They are deep enough the temps in the hole are stable. Up top it would be cooler at night, though.
Because that would be too damned easy! Lol
@@rcadd1ctnot quite but we’re working on getting there. When working in the cave, you gain cool temps but also humidity.
There will be NO quitting until you reach the middle of the earth. This is some of the best content I've seen lately. Good job guys!
I ❤️ the cave.. never stop.
Hell yeah brother🤙🤙
Waited so hard for cave progress video and now i watched it and have to wait again... pls never stop
10 days old and watching this vid again to get my cave fix. Looking forward to the next cave vid. Back in the hole!
Not allowed to quit. We’re all living vicariously through you rn
That ending with the "cave" drawing is hilarious.
That board (stick) with the nails in it is used to stretch net wire fence. Used one similar when we were down on the farm.
Looks like renovating the abandoned resort is abandoned.
Now we are stuck with side quests, like this cave and smoking.
Stalactites come down from the ceiling cause there’s a c in the word. Stalagmites come up from the ground because there’s a g in the word. Easy way to remember. 😂😂
my mom always told me stalactites grab "tightly" to the ceiling
When the "mites" go up, the "tites" go down was how I learned the difference.
Don’t quit till you hit rock bottom! We are all invested and want to see how big this cave is!
At the bottom he finds the farmers whole family...
Oh, and nice seeing Brandons CT driving by ;)
Cheers from Norway :)
Im totally invested in this cave dig matt. Keep on trucking!
I love the caving content. Please don’t stop making it! For some reason I am fascinated with caving but would never do any of the extreme stuff lol. It’s weird but I guess that’s why I like watching it. 💪🏼🇺🇸
I love it when you go in the cave. I used to explore stuff like that when I was young. San Antonio area has a lot of caves like that. I always sit on the edge of my seat waiting to see what you pull up next. Thanks Matt.

I’m loving this cave series but I’ve discovered that as I’ve gotten older I’ve developed a case of claustrophobia. When I was younger I would have been all in those different holes. Now just watching you guys do it gives me the feeling I’m trapped.
