One of my top 10 movies of all times. John Gavin gives a human performance that I thought was terrific . Victor French plays an angry brother and villian in great fashion and Manuel Padilla gives a great performance as well. I still love this movie.
Spectacular locations for a TV movie; how nice that the fort, built for a feature western, was still available. It really gives "depth" to the viewing experience. . . . This is probably the smallest role Joseph Cotten (fort commandant) has ever performed. Thanks for posting -- seven years ago.
This aired a week after The Ed Sullivan Show's unceremonious cancellation, 8:00 PM EDT on June 13, 1971. CBS showed a few more films in Ed's former slot during the summer, then made Sunday a regular movie night that fall.

I remember seeing this movie.
It left me with a lot of questions.

Haven't seen anything about this movie since it appeared back in 1970. I remember it as being a pretty decent Western adventure.
