When i drove, I had window fogging issues also. I applied a fog free window treatment to the inside of my windows, and it fogged no more!. I also used RainX on the windshield, side windows, and mirrors. HUGE difference. No need for wipers and defroster! All i was concerned about was staying warm when cold outside. Those 2 products really served me well, and would recommend to anyone. I actually ended up using my wipers only as a back up. It was so fascinating watching the rain trying to get off the windshield so fast that I had to keep reminding myself to watch the road! I'm Rick, my wife is Carol and I bootleg on her account.
I have had four Cascadia trucks, between April 2012 and July 2018, with Hendrickson AIRTEK steer axles, at my old company Metropolitan Trucking LLC. Not one of them lost alignment while I had them, and the last one had 374 thousand miles on it when I left for Landstar. I'll swear by them. I'm also running Michelin XDN2 drives on my own truck right now.
Hey Greg...The defrost has been a sore spot in 5700’s you are not the first to report this. We have some inserts for the vents that will help with side window defrost. Please stop by Western Star North and I will give you a pair. Thanks for a great review.
I love the trailer brake can never lose it it sticks out far and the other ones you just have a simple button and you never can find it and you get a Detroit Diesel The Best of the Best I love that engine
thanks for your posting this video. ive been looking at trucks with either the dd15 or the x15 cummins and came across the 5700xe. Have you had any issues with it leaking any water into the cab of any sort? ive seen a review or two with that issue as with the windows fogging up. how do you like the truck still?
Sorry for the late reply! The truck hasn't had any water issues other than it was using some for a bit but they resolved that problem. I gave it to one of my drivers now and he loves it... finally gonna have time to do some more video and podcasting soon!
Nice truck for sure, hopefully I can buy one like soon. Can you share more about the engine? Your opinion vs dd15 505 HP? Average MPG? Is that the 72" sleeper?
@@semi-crazyinc.5591 Hi Greg ! I like your Channel much ! What rear ends and rear axles did you put in ? I run the east mainly and im curious about your heavy haul mountain specs !
My western star has terrible vents too, things are just crammed behind that dash and they're just not lined up. Just buff in some shaving cream, the old school white creamy foam, you won't even need a defroster after that, lasts about 2 weeks in the winter per application. I like your herd, I got the Truck Defender 3" pipe Forman. Same quality, little cheaper, they're out of Vale SD. I've got 200k on my 2021, only problem I've had was coolant leaks but it the APU leaking.
I'm 55 years old I thinking about getting into the business I know I have to go to school but you know am I too old let me know I love to drive a Western Star did I can afford Chevy Silverado you have a good day bye
i was going to buy 2 5700 w s but i said f#@/k it and got 1 2020 Kenworth W900 it is gorges 4 axle with the pusher midnight blue 78 inch sleeper with the foldable seat 600 hp cummings 18 speed 14 thousend pound steers 48 tp rears i haul logs in ca need a hd truck also got my first all alunimum trailer 48 foot by 102 spread axle cal leagle only wheighs 6340 pounds it has an onboard scail can pull 39.000 pounds easy the only thing that sucks i can only keep it for 10 years per new carb laws.
Just took delivery a month ago of our 5700XE. Well done video that is helping me getting to know this truck.

The classic dash with that amazing wood finish is my favorite part about this truck. Really a work horse and a beautiful place to be in.
Thanks for bringing me that to my attention it does have wood
I love the invisible seat belts in those Western Stars 😂😂😂😂
Great review, appreciate the solid effort without overdoing! Will buy a low mileage 2017 this week if as good as yours.

Great vid, where did you get that carpet from in the back, and do you have a link for it?
How is the noise in the cab is it really quiet or is there a lot of engine noise from the DD-16 looking at specking out a new western star

I'm actually shopping around for a new truck. What kind of fuel mileage are you getting? Great video thank you
i heard that the visability sucks on the WS 5700 xe what do you think ?
Look at how it shakes while driving. It is a fright shaker with a western star cab
Nice looking truck.
How many miles on it now and when u got it?
Will this semi be good to haul in amd out of muddy landfills 😢
How has the truck been mechanically so far. any problems
Nice truck for sure, hopefully I can buy one like soon. Can you share more about the engine? Your opinion vs dd15 505 HP? Average MPG? Is that the 72" sleeper?
82" sleeper... the truck has a DD16 set at 600. Its actually a heavy haul spec but still does respectable mileage 7.2 90 day average

Whats your MPG? & rear ratio?
Damm I drive a 4900sf I have no room this must be nice
Nice truck! What's your MPG? Maybe if you put 2 fans hanging from above, it will help keep the windows from fogging up.
I see you went with the green interior. That looks nice.
Cost
Had any problems with the engine so far and whats your average fuel economy?
No issues with the engine. I'm at 7.3 mpg lifetime
Good film
I WOULD LOVE TO SIT ON IT AND DRIVE ON MY HOMECOUNTRY FINLAND
Put car wax on window will relief some of the frost
NICE SEAT BELT.
Bought one 2019. Regretted it ever since.

You're never too old my friend. I just made a career move myself at age 55. I'm loving it do far. I'm about 8 months in

optimus prime is coming for that model truck
Refridgerator and microwave
Optimus prime big rig!!
What’s that strange stick coming outta the floor.... they make these without putting an auto in them???? Cmon.... I’m disappointed...
Hahaha
It's one of the many reasons I'm looking at Western Star. For when the time comes to get a truck. Nothing like shifting gears.
Не пристёгивается, американский братишка...
Just garbage, no quality control, every other week I deal with issues.
Cheap interior.
Looks like it rides better than a freightshaker.
